dotmel - melody inspiration platform

Hi all, for past few months I was working on a dotmel platform. It is a place for producers to find or share melodies in midi format with each other. Melodies are called "mels". The platform is imagined for music producers or composers to get inspired with new ideas. Feel free to check it out - dotmel.io

Beat Battle

There's an open beat battle running right now if anyone wants to jump in.

It's on dotmel.io, a platform I built for sharing MIDI files. The battle works like this: I write a starter motif (MIDI), you flip it into a beat, submit with your best 30-60 seconds highlighted and a link to your socials. Community votes, no judges.

Beat Battle Anyone

Quick context: I've been building dotmel (dotmel.io) for a while now, it's a small platform for sharing, discovering, and playing MIDI files. Think of it as a place for producers to share melodies and chord progressions, kind of like Pinterest but just for MIDI. It's free.

The beat battles are something I added because I wanted to give the community something to actually do together. The idea is simple: I write a starter motif (MIDI file), everyone downloads it, flips it into their own beat, submits a link, and the community votes. During the upload you just highlight best 30 - 60 seconds of your beat and provide a link to you socials. No judges, no panel, just producers voting for other producers.

Anyone interested here is a link to current open battle: Two Chords, No More

For past few months I was working on a simple platform for beat battle contests. Before that platform served only as a MIDI library for me and my friends. Now beat battles are open and in testing phase - if anyone wants to try it out, I opened a sample creation battle. You download a MIDI file, create a sample with it and upload it to battles contest. After submissions phase is over, voting is started and the sample with most votes wins.

If you are interested in testing this out and battle me here is the link to the battles feed: https://dotmel.io/battles

Feel free to ask me anything :))

Anyone wants to flip my MIDI file into a sample?

How does it work? I open a sample creation battle, you download a MIDI file and create a sample in defined theme, upload it in the submission phase and battle other producers on dotmel.io platform. MIDI is free for download. Looking for your creations.

Check it out on the following link - https://dotmel.io/battles
