Weight Retention

I’m a 30 F and have been relatively healthy my whole life. I’m quite tall and anything under 175lbs makes me look way too skinny (in my opinion), in an unhealthy way (I have a wider rib cage and it’ll stick out a lot if I weigh around 170). A year ago I left a job that had me on my feet 24/7 for an office job that has me sitting the whole day. This is my first office job and I have gained so much weight it’s crazy. I’ve noticed this past year that my baseline weight has gone from 175-180lbs to 195+ lbs. my eating habits have been about the same more or less. I’ve been tracking my calories and the worst it’ll get to is 1800 calories per day. I’ll be honest, I do not drink a lot of water in a day. Maybe 2 cups. It’s always been that way. I average 6-7 hours of sleep. A lot of this weight has gone to my things so my inner thighs touch a lot more now. I’ve been in the gym 3x a week for 2 months. I typically do 15 min of cardio and do some light weight training. My workouts typically last 45 min and I burn about 300-400 calories. I can’t go too hard as I have a slipped disc. While the number on the scale has not budged I have noticed my pants fit a little bit better now. Sorry for rambling. Any idea why I can’t get my legs to shrink a little?

Getting back into it

Hey guysss,

Wanted to get your input on a few things. For some background on me, I’ve (30F) almost always been a healthy weight for my height (5’9) and build. Flat tummy and all. Part of it was because I would frequent the gym 3-4 times a week and lift. The other thing that helped was having a very active job working with little kids. In the past few years a lot has happened in my personal life, including a car accident. Some idiot on their phone ran a stop sign and hit my car. I sustained a slipped disc from this and wore a back brace for about 6 months. I also had the toughest time even picking up anything more than 15 lbs off the floor. Thankfully it’s been almost 2 years since then and I’ve made a lotttt of progress. I also had to stop working with the littles because they kept hurting me by accident. I work a corporate job now and sit a lot. Due to the slipped disc and limited Range of motion I lost a lot of the muscle I had built up over the years. I also have gained a bit of weight (20 lbs) which has strangely accumulated in my thighs. This also means I have quite a bit of cellulite now. My questions are:

  1. Will the cellulite “go away” with consistent exercise or am I screwed?

  2. How to build muscle without hurting my back?

  3. How to make the gym more of a priority in my life?

I really want to FEEL healthier again so I’m cool with any results I get, even slower paced ones. Thank you all!!

Cookie Decorating Newbie

Hello! I’m extremely new to cookie decorating. I just wanted to post these and get y’all’s honest opinion. These were made for a friend’s Mehendi night (pre wedding party, for those who aren’t familiar). These are south asian inspired. The bride and grooms names have been covered for the sake of privacy. I think the actual taste of the cookies are great. I wanted to do sooo much more with decorating (see last slide for the inspo) but sadly have not developed the skills yet. This is my 3rd batch ever and the first one I have sold! I set the price at $40/dozen for complex designs (the saree, traditional south asian dress and the hands with henna designs) and $35/dozen for the basic ones. Please let me know what you think of the overall pricing and look of the cookies. Any and all tips welcome. The issues I’m having so far are the following:

1.) Air bubbles in my final product. I try my best to pop them when decorating but there are too many.

2.) I have a very hard time making dark colors even with using food coloring gel. I have noticed that as they dry, the colors do get a tad darker.

3.) writing letters without a projector. Again, I’m so new at this and cannot justify a projector at this time.
