Anyone have any experience starting over?

What I mean is taking an established tank and starting over with a new one?

My main reason for this is we had a very cool sand-fall in the tank but it stopped working. First time was before the tank was established so I was able to easily start over and have no issue. Tank was set up, betta and shrimp added, everything going well but the sand-fall is down again. I’m over it and I would rather now have that space for plants and real hardscape.

The problem is removing this will most certainly disturb the substrate, which I do not want. I don’t see how I can take it out without messing it all up. I’m thinking of draining and rescaping, but I’m of course worried about my livestock and they come first in terms of needs. Their need to live trumps my need for a prettier tank. Every is healthy so I’m wary of disturbing the peace but it’s also just an eye-sore now and could probably be even better looking and functional with more substrate and more room for plants.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Need help finding ideal septum plug for long term hiding.

Hello!

I have had my septum pierced for quite a while now, it’s my oldest piercing. About a month back I stretched it to a 4G and left that in for a while and just wore a mask while at school and work since I need to hide it for both, but honestly I get really annoyed with masks for other reasons and so I got a steel bullet plug to replace the taper and to be able to hide it continuously.

I think the current problem I am having is the O-ring on the metal is kinda slippery and easy to slide off, when I sleep I toss and turn a TON and I also am quite a boogery person in terms of my nasal production. Might be TMI but I also notice it comes off when im heavily making out and it sucks. Normally not a problem with two O-rings on either side of a taper, plus I can get really small rings that squeeze tighter. The current bullet plug just is more slippery and the O-rings are bigger since I physically can’t get a smaller one that might squeeze tighter on there, just can’t force it with the angle I would have from inside my nose.

When I was a smaller size I used to just flip the taper (these are what I like wearing) into my nose and you can’t see it, but now the sizes I wear seem to big to do that. I have about a year left in school and still work full time too so I really don’t enjoy taking it in and out all the time especially now that it’s been stretched again recently. I’ve seen flared plugs but those kinda scare me cuz how do I get it in there when the middle is my size but the flares are bigger than my hole? Maybe a plug that has a groove for hold the O-ring? Normally I wear horse shoe tapers cuz I like the look but I’m getting annoyed with this since I can’t wear those right now. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you

Four months in and it’s been going extremely well!

Started this Walstad tank about four months ago or so, it has not been without hiccups but it’s coming along great. The only tech are a heater and an air stone just to make sure there enough oxygen at night. There has not been a filter at all in here and it seems to be doing exactly what it should be doing, aside from feeding the fish, it’s entirely self sufficient. Water parameters are great, plants are doing well, and the critters are loving it.

We got the center piece beta fish, about 12 galaxy rasbora, 10 kuhli loaches, 4 fat amano shrimps, 3 nerite snails, a bunch of pond snails that got in their on accident (I gave up trying to remove them), and a crap ton of yellow neocardinia shrimps. The neocardinia have been doing amazing, there are so many of them now, they are obviously comfortable becuase we have tons of babies and there are some pregnant ones I can see so more are coming. Everything gets along peacefully and there have been zero problems between species.

I got another mini tank we are working on, only 5 gallons, I’ll post pictures if that one eventually but this one is the crowning achievement at the moment, so happy with how it’s been doing.

Dark vs So Dark, which do you prefer?

I think for me it’s Dark. I like how it’s a bit more stripped back, fits the album it’s on better, but even without taking Come album into consideration I still think it’s better imo. So Dark ain’t bad tho, that’s for sure, just got more going on to it. What yall think?

LPT: If you are in good standing with your credit card company you can reach out to them and ask for benefits you may be unaware of

I have a couple companies I use for their services and have had luck with these a few times.

- if you are late on a payment and not doing that routinely you can call and ask to have the late fee waived. I’m sure we’ve all forgotten once in a while a bill is due, if you don’t do that often most CC companies will wave the late fee if you are otherwise in good standing.

- about once a year you can request to have a permanent reduction in your APR, often times it will not be a huge amount but doing this yearly has gotten me down quite a bit from where it started (of course if you pay off your bill monthly, which you should, this shouldn’t matter much)

- an alternative to yearly drop in APR you can request if there are any available promotions you can take advantage. Most notably I will ask if there are any special APR offers and I usually get 0% APR for a whole year. This is great if you are wanting to make a large purchase and need time to pay it off and make sure interest does not accrue. Me and my wife go back and forth on this so we always have one card that gives us 0% for a whole year while the other cards we drop the APR permanently. Juggle these around to consistently have good deals that can help in everyday life.

I’m sure there are more tips for credit cards so if you have any drop them in the comments!

With the direction Sony is going I am jumping ship and going over to PC. I was originally thinking of just buying the Steam Machine, but now I am wondering if it’s worth the price due to convenience or if I can do better.

So essentially I’m ditching Sony. Sorry Sony, it’s been a good run from PS3 to PS4 and then PS5 but the direction they are heading is anti consumer and now that both Sony and Microsoft have officially ruined themselves in my eyes, I’m ready to become a PC gamer. Steam is one of the rare pro-consumer companies and I wanna support that.

I see so much backlash at the specs on the Steam Machine and it makes me wondering if it’s worth spending the money on it or building a new one. The Deck makes me a believer in Steam, but idk PC things all too well. When I look up to try and see what games the Machine CANT handle, I get mostly online games that can’t do anti-cheat on a Linux based device. I don’t really play any of those types of games anyways, so is a non issue for me. Are there any games this Machine could not handle? Im willing to pay the price of convenience if I can run most things just to save me the hassle. Is it more just a performance thing like best graphics and fps?

I’m also willing to build my own PC as well, but the biggest thing for me is wanting it to work like how Steam Deck works docked on my TV. I don’t really have space for something like what I imagine the size of most PCs tend to be. I also want the convenience of chilling on my couch and playing since I am limited on rooms. I also just really like the aesthetic of the Machine and the wooden panel you can swap out, that matches my living room perfectly. Is it possible to build something functionally like a TV console like how the Steam Machine is trying to be but more powerful and around a similar price point?

Thank you in advance for your response, I look forward to becoming a PC gamer, any advice to make this leap possible while keeping in mind what I said above will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: holy shit I posted this as I was falling asleep, did not expect to wake up to this many comments haha I will get thru these as I can, many thanks to everyone replying!

The classic roast beef. There’s no equivalent.

Hands down my favorite fast food sandwich. I try not to eat out fast food to often but damn, this sandwich is just so good. It’s so plain but it’s perfection. Add on those potato cakes it’s just the perfect fast meal.

I love this sandwich so much I’m scared to try anything else from there cuz I’ll be pissed if I don’t like it and get stuck spending money on something I don’t like lol classic roast beef is the shit me and my dad used to get when I was a kid. They used to have the 4 for $5 and we’d split it and enjoy. Miss it when times were easier back then. You know what’s never changed tho? The classic roast beef 🥲

Are there any other body of works that align with the law of one directly or indirectly?

What I mean is any other books, magazines, interviews, documentary, etc that really closely align with the law of one? I have been on this path for a while, started reading LoO about 6 years ago and it has been extremely interesting read for me and I have done a lot of growing since then.

Over the years I have had some other materials
that seem to reinforce my beliefs in what is written in LoO. Some examples include:

- I Am That by Sri Nisrigatta Mahraj (something that I think indirectly reinforces LoO for me)

- Bashar channeling seems to be closely related. I have not exactly heard all from this entity but what I have vibrates with me.

- Red Cord Channeling is also another group of channeled that seem to fit into it all

- [This might be the most directly related, albeit from the negative polarity perspective.](https://www.wanttoknow.info/secret_societies/hidden_hand_081018) It really truly does seem like it could be the real deal, tho that is of course up for debate. I highly suggest reading this particular one if you have not.

This is what comes to my mind when I think of my question. Does anyone else have any other suggestions or works they recommend that vibe with what Ra says in LoO? Thank you!

Got some graded issues back today!

I posted the Len Wein signature earlier this year and everyone loved it, just wanted to show what it scored on grading and came back authenticated signature too! (I got it signed myself but still glad it was authenticated)

I was able to get the Scott ~~Zack~~ Snyder Swamp Thing #1 signed earlier this year at wondercon too. Loved his series even if it wasn’t my favorite from swampy. Glad to have these two protected and sealed!

Posted my baby sequoia earlier this year and took some advice yall gave me. Look how healthy he looks 🥰

Here is my little guy Thor!

When I posted him earlier this year he was about an inch tall and I had him in a bonsai pot already. Took the advice I got here and repotted him to a much bigger pot (ground is not an option here) and damn is he thriving! I think he’s about 7 inches or so now and seems to be getting big fast!

I make sure his roots stay nice and moist but not too wet. Every few weeks I use the waste water from my aquarium for those extra nutrients and honestly I think it’s doing wonders. Just wanted to show my lil guy off and see if yall wonderful people have any suggestions or advice from here. I think he’s still too young to manipulate or put in a bonsai pot but any other suggestions are welcome! Just happy he’s getting so big and strong 💪🏽
