[WP] "Where am I? What is this place?" "I'm sorry... Your 'friends' sacrificed you."
reddit.comAnyone else feel that they'd be way worse if they were religious?
I'm sure many of us have seen the posts where some wished they still believed in a deity or never left their religion, citing that they were happier back then (aka ignorance is bliss)
Well personally, other than never feeling the need for anything "spiritual", I'm thankful that I have a natural aversion to religion. I would be so much worse off if I was religious, for a few reasons.
Tendency to overthink. I'm already a ruminator and pessimistic about many things, so the arbitrary dogma and restrictions would add even more stress.
Low social battery. I'm not a very social person, have trouble reading social cues and get tired quickly from interactions. Plus I hate blatant manipulation tactics like crocodile tears if I detect it.
Gaming. I like immersing myself in fictional worlds of video games. Religions try to tell you what is or is not "moral" to consume, in other words they'll say you can only browse THEIR content or it is satanic. Thank goodness I am free to enjoy going on crusades as a anthro lamb or sending 4 cats on an adventure to kill everything without worrying about their nonsense.
Unfortunately, if the religious fundamentalists and extremists are in power, they'd enforce their dogma on everyone else, as seen in the US or existing theocratic regimes.
What do you think?
Furry Radio Host (Mewgenics Chp 3 Spoiler)
What if there are actually furry and scalies aliens on Earth, but they disguise themselves using fursuits and never "take them off" in front of others? What if you saw one of them out of disguise as their true selves?
Anyway, mainly just some practice with my poor drawing skills. And yes this is a spoiler because the design is from a very important character in Mewgenics final chapter that I won't spoil.
As per the title. What are some features from total conversions that you really liked or disliked?
Good:
Archolos introducing more build variety like 2H Dex Polearms, tons of crafting options. Then there's the cooking recipes too that makes food useful throughout the whole game.
Dark Saga making Orcs have human-like behaviour, in the sense that they have day night cycles, fleshed out dialogue, unconscious state, interact with objects etc.
Odyssey expanding existing worldspaces and new islands. Some of these places change significantly when returning later due to certain events.
Golden Gate 2 Goddess Heart for some pretty dark quest themes.
Bad:
Archolos and Golden Gate 2 making many NPCs completely immortal. This was for ensuring players don't break quest scripts, but still if aggroing by accident or due to crime, that means instant reload save as you can't down them. In fact in Golden Gate 2, you can't finish off NPCs unless it is plot mandated (or they get downed when standing in water). I guess they really don't want you missing out on how farmers change their schedule due to changing world events... Oddly enough, this sometimes fails, causing main quest NPCs to die.
Odyssey's Chapter 3 and beyond being too empty, especially the Varant worldspace.
Odyssey removing HP increase from levelling up, forcing you to hunt down Max HP Life Potions or spend literal thousands on buying them. As if this wasn't bad enough, there's a mandatory check of 30% on 1-Handed to leave the tutorial island.
Legends of Ahssun crime system. Not only do you need to pay gold, it also takes away XP! What! And sometimes this is unavoidable due to how NPCs can detect you through walls or friendly fire occurs in large scale fights.
