Incentive Structures are All Messed Up

So I was recently fired from a job and figured I would go to school while I wait for neetbux. I was out of the country because my country has gone to shit and I feel emotionally unregulated there. They are for a selfie and id 5 times (this is already idiotic for someone with autism but whatever). Then they say oh you need to come in due to make sure there is no fraud. Dude I paid taxes for 7 years, you do this, cut classes and still give me the run around? And it seems like with whatever other government services I paid for , whether police or other stuff I am given the run around too (thankfully twice in my life with that service), but it makes me wonder why do I even contribute to society if it is all take take take, and that is before we even get into philosophical stuff. Thankfully there is a self paced university that took my application but it is just like all this app for this, selfie for that application to prove I have an ADA condition.

Then I was looking at jobs too for the heck of it and to meet the quality of life I have abroad I would need to clear at least 100k and most except one city require 10 years experience and a fatted calf. I have 6, but to move half way across the country (and now world) for a high cost area for only a slight adjustment? It seems like if I do come back it would be New York City or bust. Chicago and Dallas are a joke and none of the jobs in thr other cities would pay more than neetbuxs Hell even many jobs in NYC pay more than neetbuxs. I get they don't want useless eaters but they want to pay less and less and for you to be happy about that. Seems like an incentive problem and if you need to government to cattle prod people to go apply for those jobs it seems like the problem is employers and not "no one wants to work". The bargain is shit.

If society was given and taken I might be less done and over this, but it just seems like with the incentives in place there is no reason to sacrifice a potential autistic burnout.

Situational Neet?

After being fired and realizing I would likely need to do an irl job not remote and need to do a shit ton of applications just for that, plus the not likely 6% inflation, it just does not seem to make sense to work, when even ssdi makes as much as my previous job, it just seems idiotic. Plus everyone seems to be performative and focused on compliance instead of creating, why stick around when I could fuck off to another country? The math does not make sense.

Plus the incentive structures do not seem to align with my ADHD. When I get overtime, and I work 20 hours of OT, I can conquer the world, but if I am doing 2 bit work, it doe not seem to make any sense especially with inflation eating up anything you do have whereas there is a cola gain from inflation. That also allows me to start a side hustle and work overseas. How the hell does the incentive structure work? It does not account for commuting, the mental, tax, social performance, inflation, standard of living, or anything.

Anyone Else Get on SSDI and It Makes No Sense to Go Back to Work?

So I applied to SSDI after being fired from my most recent job. I realized I have been put on performance improvement plans at every job I have been at and kept jumping from job to job before they fire me. At the job before the one I just got fired at, I applied to 2000 jobs over 2 years and could not advance further. I also have a hormonal problem that made me super tired and did not realize it at the time.

After being fired I don't want to apply to hundreds of jobs just to get a Pizza Hut gig. Obviously something is the matter and social hierarchies are more important than ever so I don't see the point in fighting for the equivalent of what I made before when back pay with investments and the amount I would make would be the same as what tI was making at the most recent job plus no commute. Further I could live on a less stressful and less expensive environment and save. And get permanent residency and work on side projects with government funding.

Has anyone else realized going back into the work force with your autistic burnout makes no sense given the state of the job market plus the burnout itself?

Becoming a Neet After Years of Working

You know after 8 years of working and then burning out, I am surprised there is not more talk about autistic burnout and working and then getting on SSDI. I was not trying to, but I moved half way across the country to work and worked for a straight 8 years, job hopping 3 times, but I could never make any more despite being at a job 4 years and applying for 2000 jobs across the country. I needed 5 cups of coffee a day to function plus nootropics.

I recently got fired from a remote job (I could keep up the pace), but realized between backpay and the ssdi from working during good times plus living overseas, there would be no need for me to ever work again and I could work on side projects and try to make a side business that is mostly automated and government funded. Further the pay would be the same as if I went back to work.

I have seen some examples of people being on SSDI and making more on autism related subs, but I am surprised more people don't mention this. I was also put on performance reviews at each job. I was always tired. Come to find out it was not depressions but hormones. Here is the kicker: the country I am eligible to move to based on my high earning years also have national health insurance so I can work on my health issues and if an opportunity does arise, maybe I will take it. But with the low cost of living, permanent residency, and government grants for businesses, it seems like the pay would need to be a lot to pull me back. Also dating is better in this part of the world.

In addition to autism, I am starting to realize I have ADHD and as I unmask and self actualize, I feel like I am more disabled if that makes sense.

Anyone else have a similar journey? Also I am going to school while I wait for SSDI and maybe take up small amounts of work to pay for everything.

Lately I have been nervous about posting anything outside the norm even on the investing subs as I will sounds like I seen a ghost but let me ask you this: do any of you look to invest in odd situations? Foreign stocks on IBKR, synthetic return etfs and etns? I have been looking at credit ETFs/ETNs, foreign stocks, weird reits, and direct investment in foreign markets. I have been working on setting up a brokerage account in Asia where the dividends are 3-5% and people is like 3-5X, been grazing at credit ETFs/etns, some foreign stocks I can buy on ibkr, and also some stuff like cannabis reits and normal stocks. Whenever I hear about dividends it seems to be the Coca Cola or AT&T, which is fine, but do you ever dig into weird stuff? I was running the numbers as if you can buy some of these 10ish percent dividend stocks and reinvest you are really juicing returns especially if you are reinvesting the income and reinvesting into growth or extreme value situations.

So say you are on the same page and are doing the same thing (say being a digital nomad or say investing). I made a comment about Bangkok being expensive compared to Bogota and people acted all cloistered like I insulted the Pope. Maybe it is me but other parts of Thailand seem like you can get a good value. I mean it's their money but I just did not find a lot of value in Bangkok overall. Then I try to explain I am not trying to live like a pensioner in the Philippines on 500 bucks and someone got pissed at that.

I also saw a few posts recommended to me by Reddit about dumpster diving at college campuses. It shocks me how much people throw out, hell even ps5s just seems crazy to me.

Then I look at portfolios subreddit for stock and they are 70% the same. I mean I get I am extreme (I have been on a side quest to open foreign brokerage accounts), but even I am at a shock. Sometimes I have found a few weirdo dividend stocks here or there on reddit but holy fuck.

I just think about growing up going to thrift stores/garage sales, being on forums, or just doing stuff and sometimes I can't help but wonder if some of these people had a wayyy different childhood. I mean I get people do but I mean respecting the value of money and all that or whatever. It just seems like they are from different planets.

I will be honest when I looked at going abroad originally it was not about dating but more about economics and freedom. I would say not it is still largely about that but as things have gotten worse dating does take up a slightly higher mind share.

I am not sure about you, but being able to explore better opportunities, lower cost of living, and being diversified away from the US is another reason I went abroad as well. Instead of investing in the S and P that is terribly lopsided, I can buy quality companies for 4X earnings and bank where I don't have as much 5 eye surveillance on my bank account. But beyond that, I can enjoy places that are better for my temperament and not be locked in with a government that does not have my best interest at heart.

I posted about Thailand/Bangkok in another thread and people were giving me a bit of shit on Bangkok. Yes I get it is the most visited city in the world so I get it has gentrified. But at the same time I just don't get the logic of potentially spending 500+ on a ticket (which I did not) when I could spend say 300 on a ticket to Bogota and in my opinion have a better value. I think for dating Thailand is better for dating, but as an example I walked out of a cigar shop with two cigars and 5 drinks (large shots) for about 50 bucks and overall the mom and pop restaurants were delightful.

That is not to say that Bangkok is horrible or whatever, but in between visa hassles and value I think Bogota is better. Medellin seemed too commercialized.

I know that different people have different budgets and spending 2 weeks is way different than permanently moving to Asia, but I guess to me when I have found super deals on Guangzhou, Bogota, or elsewhere, I just get used to a better value overall. That is not to say I have not been to some interesting hotel/hostels along the way, but I think it does skew things, especially if you are staying in Asia long term. Usually I don't spend more than 20 on a room wherever I go (US being the exception) and have been able to find the exceptional to phenomenal deals. In Vientiane I probably did not spend more than 2 bucks a day on meals. Steak could be had for about 2 or so bucks that would be triple in the US.

All this to say not to look in another man's wallet, but I really am not sure if I am adept and finding good deals or just way out of the loop, but outside Bangkok (which I get has gentrified) my general rule for spending has held steady and in most of Thailand it has as well. I just don't get the hate. That is not to bash anyone that does seem value in Bangkok, but it reminds me a bit of Medellin, but obviously safer and less of a focus on women in general.

I am not sure why, but Thailand is what I thought the Philippines would be and vice versa. Having said that I did not visit either until after so that may have been different but overall I like Thailand. I dislike some government policies but overall can't say the experience has been bad. Also Bangkok was a little pricey but overwise overall not bad. Also the women have been better than I have hoped. Hotels are not too bad and food is pretty decent as well. Good internet for working. Still seeing how things play out but can't complain.

edit: I guess going to Thailand I did not have my hopes up and was surprised. I went on some dates and fooled around a bit and can't complain overall. Compared to Vientiane or Bali though it seems like there was a hard floor for price on things in Bangkok vs other places. It is a large area so I get that I just want to get the best value and sometimes I feel mixed. Chiang Mai and Pattaya I felt like we're good values overall. In Bangkok I got a bunk bed for the same prices as a pretty good hotel in Pattaya. That is not a knock on Bangkok I get they are two separate cities, but when I went to Bangkok I felt like why both outside a few days and site seeing.

Before my recent avels I had only been to Colombia and Central America. I still like Bogota but Pattaya and Chiang Mai were pretty good as well as Vientiane but Vientiane was not good for dating

So for the good news. After being stuck in finance for 2 1/2 years and applying to 2000 jobs I landed a remote programming position that paid 60k but is more macros oriented, but not for Excel or the kike. I have been there for almost a year. I also found out I have Canadian citizenship and might try to overemploy or use that to my advantage. I currently reside outside North America in a revolving group of countries. Should I try to overemploy by picking up a second remote job from Canada and hack it using a low cost of living area or should I try something else? I do have a Bachelor's Degree but with the economy how it is I feel like passively spying to jobs might be my best bet.

So I have been with three different women in longer term relationships. One criticized me for the type og graphic novels I read and using Yandex, one criticized me for toying with the idea of building an electric vehicle from scratch (I thought there were kits due to reading stuff on PesWiki back in the day) and calling people zombies, and another for using metaphors in general. I try to go for more quiet people but then they start criticizing me for things I like. It usually happens after the honey moon period. Going after extroverts does not seem to be the solution and these three were from three different continents. My mom was deeply Pentecostal so I felt like many things I had to hide from her so I would not get in trouble but even as an adult people are judgemental for say reading the graphic novel Preacher. It just makes me feel like I am incapable of sussing out what makes a relationship theoretically work.
