[Update] Dealer Wants Extra $11 to Ship Plates To Home

Original Post

Dealer Manager texted me back a few hours after my post saying they would pay for shipping the plates, but to call about the itemization of registration costs. He claims that the registration of the car ended up being over $700 which made little sense as in NYS the maximum it'd have cost is $250-270ish on the higher end. (He even said titling the car cost $300? Lol)

I asked are you sure your not confusing that with your doc fee costs and he said well they aren't allowed by law to keep any of it but lets wait for the title office to verify/finalize the costs. I said I'd wait on that and call back after a couple of weeks if i don't get a check.

I'm most definitely biting my tongue, but my theory is someone in the title office is trying to skim $10-$20 on out of state customers, and potentially entire registration overages, or complete incompetence which is always a possibility.

Thanks to everyone who responded, Let's see if i ever get anything back on the registration costs.

Completely Insane Total Loss Valuation Report

It's pretty wild the worst instance I've seen on a TLV report is a vehicle being sourced further then NYS Insurance allows (100 miles from garaged address), Until now.

A vehicle of our own is a total loss under Progressive of which they use Mitchell.

First in the summary of the our vehicle, it's listed as Typical in every line, but comments "UNABLE TO ASSESS FROM PICS", except for Glass which is "3 Good" for what I assume is the shattered rear glass for the tree that landed on it. How can you gauge a vehicle's status then claim unable to assess from pictures (That the Progressive Adjuster himself submitted)?

Then to the comps

Comp #1 - Sold data of a vehicle with over double the mileage (79k) on it and incomplete VIN. Can't lookup the build to verify anything like make/model/transmission for similarity because no VIN (Last 6 are just XXXXXX). They decide to add $3300 in value for $27050

Comp #2 - is the same type of Sold data, Incomplete VIN with nearly double the mileage (75k), but this time they add just $1,250 in value for $24000

Comp #3 - Apparently for sale at a dealer for $21,990 with less mileage then our vehicle and they "Project" another $600 off the final sale price. Upon calling the dealer, it's not for sale. (I just asked for the stock # and the vehicle they said they dont have it )

It's wild the game to play where one with double the mileage is worth $27000 but then to use a car that was probably a bad listing, terrible damaged/branded car that some how had less mileage but was 5k less then one with 70k miles.

I've already invoked the independent appraiser clause and submitted this report/complaint to the NYS Department of Finance for a bad faith valuation but how many consumers are getting ripped off constantly just trusting these reports are faithful?

The Edit reservation through Travel Portal was paid through a Mastercard?

Thought it was a funny detail, I paid for my The Edit / Select Hotel reservation with my Chase Sapphire Reserve on the Travel Portal. On my IHG Reservation in their app it shows it was paid with a Mastercard.

You'd figure a tiny detail but considering the CSR is a Visa they'd make sure the travel portal paid with a Visa card also.

Election Results Westchester

Final

Cait Conley Won, as confirmed earlier in my post.

Paul Feiner pulled it off and showed that even if the establishment machine is behind you, Feiner has that magic.

Frank Jereis won, but in an odd result that shows that the Spano & Establishment can't carry landslides anymore which leads us to our next races.

Lesyle Thomas Won against Wilson Terrero, A Spano and establishment backed candidate

Kisha Skipper won against the Party candidate (Who wasn't officially backed by the Spanos)

For state, Yeah Tom won comptroller, who expected anything different?

Motorists sue Westchester County over 1.6 billion license plate scans

Finally the beginning of the end of the surveillance state. The real time crime center as the county calls it is a ridiculous overstep.
