Advice Requested -- Fledgling Pied Wagtail, Injured

I'm located in Gillingham and I found, what I believe to be, a fledgling pied wagtail. I saw a cat attack it and now it has a wing which is a bit stunned. It doesn't appear broken.

I kept it in an empty cupboard overnight and it's doing much better-- last night it couldn't open the wing at all; today, the wing was flapping a bit. I don't think it's ready to go outside yet, since it's can't fly away from predators.

Another of these little birds was already dead when I arrived so I think it was still in the nest? Or do these birds congregrate in family units? I don't know if that affects anything for the bird.

I couldn't get ahold of Kent Wildlife and the nearest veterinary hospital is an hour away by public transit.

Any advice on what to do?

Am I Wrong?

Am I wrong for wanting to think of everybody in the worst possible light?

I went home for a family visit and, usually, I am Mr. Silver Lining-- I always joke that I would be a great person to be kidnapped with because I can find the good in anything. Death by firing squad? What a well attended funeral! Not enough food? I’ve been meaning to diet. But this? I took a 16 hr plane and I’m about to get on another 16 hr flight and not a single person here bothered to acknowledge me. Direct questions were ignored and we would sit at dinner without a single person making eye contact with me— sometimes people would just get up and leave the table— if they had the bad luck of being seated next to me. People screaming at me for expecting the bare minimum and shaming me for being upset about it. Really, I’ve mostly been talking with my grandparents where the conversation has oscillated between; I’m overeating and need to diet, I’m lazy and need to work on school more; I’m unemployed and unwise with money and that’s pathetic.

My Recs and Yours

I love, love, love!

Curse of the Gods by Jaymin Eve

Signs of Cupidity by Raven Kennedy

Reborn by M. Sinclair

But Did You Die? by Sedona Ashe

and a few still really good series;

Sixth of a Soul by Viyana Morrigan

Blood Oath by Morgan B. Lee

The Redeemables by Grace McGinty

and… it’s not a reverse harem but A Kinda Fairy Tale is one of my favorite series I’ve ever read!!

Anyone have any recommendations for me?

Book Store Blunder

I’ve really been wanting to check out these romance book stores in my area— there are two and they look so amazing! But neither have any reverse harem books. I was so excited to email them and see what they might recommend but all I got was the shop owner giving an AI recommendation. I was so disappointed!!! It was a totally made up title and author!

Supergirl— To See or Not to See

So Supergirl has no female directors or producers— or really any woman handling the day to day creative decisions. There was a female screenwriter and a female costumer (so at least it won’t be Wonder Woman 2), but is it better to not go because they have such a low number of women in positions of authority or better to go because it’s a movie about a female superhero?

The Summer Ball -- Worth Going to or Not?

I know people who are going but nobody who I would consider a friend of mine so I feel like I just linger on the outskirts of the group, but some other friends told me I should go because it's just such a cool opportunity-- to be in a rented out museum with entertainment and whatever. Anyways, lots of people want a ticket so I could definitely sell mine but need to decide like ASAP. Yes, my FOMO is bad but also, would I even have fun and waste my time/energy in going when yes, it might be cool, but I've done lots of cool things. So this could be that I have fun pushing myself into a group and finding that I'm welcome or it could be that I'm standing at the sidelines super awkwardly for the whole night and wasted 90

Cast Your Vote!

Hey, everyone! I would be so appreciative if you could take a second to vote on your favorite knit item. I saw that GSAFE— a charity that educates teachers on the needs of LGBTQIA+ youths and supports LGBTQIA+ clubs in schools, does a “quilt and fiber auction” at the end of the year soooo…. which do we think would sell? If anyone has done something similar, I’d appreciate any advice you have!!! Maybe I should do lots of hats? Because they’re a bit quicker to make?

Here’s a link if anyone wants more info!
