Just collected this suit from my tailor. It took a while to get it to this point - basically when you’re 6’1 and 440 lbs, with a 70 inch belly and legs that naturally splay apart there are a *lot* of compromises to be made, but I’m quite happy with it.

Two points of note:

(1) The bottom front corners of the jacket are cut at an angle, to avoid a hanging triangle of fabric running off the belly.

(2) The buttoning point is higher than most modern suits, but is in line with historical examples. This isn’t just a pseudo-vintage effect, though. The higher buttoning point gives he impression of drape from the shoulders and chest. A lower buttoning point makes the jacket drape off the belly.
