Am looking to see what/if anything can be done to check the state of the front shocks on this mongoose bike. I know it's a low end bike. Most all the repairs have been done from 2nd hand parts.

The shocks themselves are an empty tube that descends about 8.5". There is what appears to be a hex head down in the bottom of the empty tube- which I haven't loosened yet.

There is only what appears to be a weep hole at the bottom of the fork itself, and nothing that appears to hold (whatever) inside that tube itself.

I have looked and looked and I have no idea what is inside of that- whether it's a spring, preload, how it's attached, what's holding it in, or.... anything.

I know I need to buy him another bike. I've been unemployed for 1.5 years and I'm just starting to build up savings again. I will get him something as soon as I can I swear.

Within the last 3 days I've tripped all alarms on my Radiacode, with counts from 8k/sec to 35k/sec.

Counts don't give dosage, I know. I believe it's all from radioactive iodine/medical procedures.

With that said... today's third count trip was 25k/sec ... I was 3 meters from the guy sitting... and we sat there for almost an hour to be seen.

I'm not worried for me. I look at the nursing staff and the front office staff that sit in exposed positions, 9 to 12 hours a day... if they get a steady stream of these folks.... that has got to add up.

Using the expected dosage at 1 meter and inverse square to 3, it still looks as if they'd be getting exposed at too high of a rate. And I don't know enough/understand if any of the material is excreted or carried by breath/water droplets.

Are the ladies that take care of us safe?

I have a patch of yard that grows morel mushrooms each year. Usually I miss when they start fruiting, but this time I set a calendar alarm and have been checking every day for 3 weeks.

How long do I let them fruit before they're .... not good anymore? How big? Is there a point where the color changes or shape? (I have many of different colors or shapes)

If I cut them back at the base, will they encourage a second flush?

So first, help- What should have done to capture spectrum and whatnot.

I started to try and get a spectrum, but then the CPM started dropping. Then I put it up next to a piece of artwork (with Jade and ?) and it spiked again.

When I left tho placing it in the same place didn't spike back up...

So... what is the proper process for investigating ?

I'm just tired.

Went from out of the blue super hyper sexual wife to 'i want a gf' to 'i want poly' to even more intense sex, weird souvenirs around, then out of the blue texting non stop- and not to me. Missing birthday parties because she didn't tell me.

So I got drunk. I chose to. Was better being drunk and pretending to be happy than interacting. 100% my fault.

We're in therapy - she claims nothing good has happened in the last decade and denies everything.

I cook dinner and I used the wrong expensive lettuce. Apparently Romaine isn't correct.

I am so tired. Just.... so very tired. I have to look at her sleeping in my bed, in the house I bought, with all the things I purchased, all the money I've ever received from dead relatives having been spent on her and kids.... and I used the wrong fucking lettuce for a taco.

I'm not going to drink but.... damn. I've failed as a parent. I've failed as a spouse.

-one reason I've stopped eating with the family is so I don't have to listen to them bitch about every food item- especially since NONE of them can cook.

-actual conversation at the retreat location this morning while we were trying to mop up and contain water that was everywhere.

I couldn't find the water shutoff outside, but stumbled across a metal lid- dug it up to find it was a concrete tank, about 2' of head space. We had gotten a ton of rain the day before, the meeting areas were flooded out, and there was a toilet paper clog in toilet (reminder- no one knew we had septic)

The previous caretaker wasn't aware of it being on septic and that was ...10 or 15 years prior to too.

After the initial shock we're reaching to the community for help to get ourselves centered- we just dropped 10k on roofing.

SO getting us back on track-

1. I know draino went down one of the pipes that was clogged recently. Young kids aren't the most reliant at scraping, so we are going to nip that immediately with magnetic strainers.

2. All the bathrooms are going to have to be overhauled somehow- whether for ADA compliance or what, but... we'll switch to septic safe TP as some of these kids are 'on the spectrum' and I know they'll use 1/4 roll at a time. FWIW I've seen them get better over the years...

3. Surveys from the town? I went digging and couldn't find anything public. Is there something /somewhere I'd look up specifically for septic permits?

4. That tank is near trees/roots. I'd guarantee roots are in the tank. Since I have a meeting coming up on this I'm trying to get a handle on 'worst case' and 'bandaid' for 3-4 years (so we can gather funds, not so that it can't be fixed).

5. Entire building is a slab. Water may be coming up and under the flooring necessitating tear out.

-any other questions or things I need to start looking up asap to get knowledgeable fast?
