Season 2 episode 13 my all time favourite episode😭

I just finished the disaster that was season 5 w the ridiculous royal storyline to everyone dating each other and all the ivy stuff.

So i have decided to rewatch s2. And i am up to one of my fave episodes of all time s2e13! Barts funeral lol. The montage bit towards the end of signs (bloc party). It was just one of the peaks of this show done so well. Its sad i cant even get through s6 like bart is literally an animated supervillain. His death (the first one) was one of the best plots imo. And bringing him back was just a terrible idea.

But unpopular opinion bringing bart back was not as bad as the whole monaco/prince louis storyline😭. It didnt feel like gossip girl.

Worlds worst love triangle

Blair saying she is not in love w chuck like that felt so brutal😭😭. After all that had happened. Whats even more confusing is that being contradicted by her immediately for the confession in the finale.

Whats even worse is that this video doesnt even contain all of it. Louis is barely mentioned. Like i actually understand the appeal of dair to people but how can they enjoy it when it is amongst all the mess.

I feel like dan shouldve see the end coming. He firsthand witnessed what happened w blair and louis. But blair was so hard to support throughout all of this. Chuck let her go multiple times but every time she realised she pulled him back in. It first happened when he returned the ring and then again happened when her diary got leaked.

I was not a fan of chuck until s4 finale when he said goodbye to blair. But every scene of them after that its like she is punishing him. The scene i hate the most is when he comes to her as a friend about Elizabeth. Because that comes after her confession in the car and at the wedding. I feel like it was so harsh considering all that happened.

And even worse when she attacks him for the dowry and says he thought he could collect her from louis. But then after dan takes her to play princess at constance she texts him thanks for setting her free. It’s just worse when i reconsider her words to him in the car she said she loved every part of him, never wants to leave him, and cant wait to spend every day w him. The switch for dan was mad and didnt make sense.
And her words to him over those two incidents make me question why she even “loves” him because its apparent she thinks very low of him (when he is being genuine).

But then in season 6 Blair is again so all about chuck. And cannot wait to marry him. Which is believable. But the writers should have just let them be happy after they got rid of louis.

Serena and Blair in season 5

Im sorry but this scene is on of many that annoys me so bad😭. And its even worse after because we see that blair leaves dan in only a few episodes. I feel like i am the only one but i think blair was an awful friend to serena in season 5. I made a post about how I felt that everyone is too hard on season 5 serena but I am also stuck on blair as a friend.

Can we imagine blairs response if serena began pursuing chuck in the same scenario (dan had just rejected serena at the wedding).

In season 5 we see serena support of blair while she is struggling with louis initially in the season and later. We also see her suggesting that blair reassure dan and confess her love after dan confides in her (serena) about blair not saying i love you.

But do we see blair comfort serena once in the season. Not about the ivy situation, all her parents drama, or cece dying. Even worse blair begins w dan when cece is dying and serena realises but whats sad is she still wants blair by her side during ceces last breath. After/ during the wake and theres even more rhodes/ van der woodsen drama with the will. Meanwhile blair is in the middle or chuck and dan.

Its just baffling. And yk what i dont even think the diary thing was that despicable bc first of all tbf gg was posting them not serena. And Blair is literally no better. She would in fact probably do worse. In relation to the tape obviously that was awful i am not gonna defend it. However dan sleeping w serena was his choice he cant claim she “forced” him or anything. In all of this i felt so sad for serena at the end when she od’s on that train. Meanwhile Blair is already back w chuck.

Also another thing i wanna add is how unserious blair was talking about the rome trip w dan to serena. Like it was actually sad how obvious serenas hurt was. Bc we all know serena would have 100% been there😭.

And i dont even wanna hear people bring up serena and nate in s1 as if serena did not feel beyond guilty about that (also it was in hs)!

Unpopular opinion: everyone is too hard on S5 Serena

Just finished the season and I actually felt bad for her at the end😐. She began the season really thriving in LA. But then with all her family stuff between her mom, dad, carol, ivy and then loosing cece. I cant blame her for spiralling.

And all that along w blair and dan which (jump me) was an awful thing for blair to do. And i can justify thinking that because blair was aware serena had just been rejected by him at her (blairs) wedding😭. Even worse is the fact she was pursuing him right after cece died. And we never see blair sit down and check in on serena throughout all the rhodes/ van der woodsen drama. She was just off w dan the whole time. But we see serena there for blair during dair relationship issues over the rome trip and so on. Also can we imagine what blair would have done if roles were reversed here.
Let’s just all remember how blair spoke to jenny in s3 finale!

And in the end of all this blair leaves dan for chuck expectedly!

Its so unfortunate happened to them in the later seasons

I actually loved their friendship in s4a. When they had both begun at Columbia and moved in together.

But then in s5 it’s like they barely crossed paths. Blair never came to serena w anything it was always Dan like when she wanted to go back to chuck but was worried considering she was pregnant. And even bigger when she ran away from the wedding with dan. It’s just unfortunate how they became so isolated.

And I feel like people are really hard on s5 serena. In the beginning she was doing great in LA and working. But eventually she was dealing w alot from her being rejected by Dan, the ivy stuff, and cece dying.

And tbh blair wasnt there for her at all during this time. She was busy w dan. I couldnt understand why she was so furious at serena for calling her out in the finale about her feelings for chuck.

To me Dair was an unnecessary relationship especially considering where in the show they placed them. Once louis was bought back dan should have moved on. It came at the expense of the endgame couples and the serena blair friendship. I dont understand how blair barely considered Serena’s confession to dan she just went to him after ceces wake and started up w him. And even worse only to leave him for chuck in a few eps.

But obviously i can agree that leaking her diary and the tape was doing way too much. However, I think we need to remember that blair is just as evil! And did worse to people. I could never forget how disgustingly she spoke to and about jenny.

Why would Blair who has two lawyer dads sign a document that threatens to bankrupt her family if she wanted to leave her marriage

Honestly the whole thing blowing up was her fault! Its obvious the final sum was intentional as an incentive to keep her in the marriage.

Blair was insufferable with all her back and forth the whole season. She began sneaking around with dan immediately after the honeymoon when the prenup was still standing. It’s ridiculous that her divorce was finalised and her immediate thought was to plan her and Dans coming out as a couple. And whats even more insane is she gets back w chuck 4 episodes after that? Like girl take a break.

I was missing her in s4A where she broke things off w chuck to work on herself! Which is why I did appreciate her and chuck making a promise and spending the summer apart.

This writing ruined dair as a friendship. Which i am sorry but i never saw them needing to progress into a relationship. Especially once Louis was introduced. They lost the chance to give dair a real chance

And it also ruined chair. They kept them apart for so long and for such ridiculous reasons. It even had me feeling for chuck. Bc blair was punishing him for all of s5 dragging him back in after he truly genuinely let go twice (for louis twice, and for dan).

Anyways, I would like to know what fans were thinking about this era of the show whilst it was actually premiering. Because the way everything just got worse and worse is so disappointing. It peaking in s1/2.

What happened to lily is so sad

I obviously never thought of her as a character with a lot of morality but wow her at the end of season 5 is insane.

I hated the downfall of her relationship w rufus. It was so upsetting. They spent so much of the show married happily but then the writers decided to destroy them.

I cant get over lily saying he was never gonna find an ues woman to take care of him like her. Genuinely how awful? Especially considering she asked him to move in. She also begged rufus to allow her to pay to send dan to yale. Which were such kind acts at the time. But that statement is wild. Even worse she divorces him and chooses to be with Bart. I was genuinely appalled at that. Although i couldnt understand why rufus was sticking by ivy. Considering she was honestly evil at this point keeping hold of ceces estate and the house.

But after all this what I found even sadder is what happened to her relationship w her sister carol. Having her arrested and sabotaging her defence. And it’s obvious she only does this after finding out about the affair she had w william. But still overall just so unfortunate she never cared for one moment about how this would affect lola. None of the vdws gaf about the real charlie rhodes. Which is just so unfortunate! But anyways honestly her character was just awful! And I hate how her and carols relationship never gets closure. We never find out if she got a proper defence. Tbh i wouldve rather sit through that then bart bass acting like an animated supervillain.

Why is it that Blair’s whole wedding implodes because she loves Chuck. But after the divorce she chooses Dan and says she is not in love w Chuck anymore? 😭😭

Like what happened? I mean prior to the car accident she was so in love w chuck. And she was up until the wedding. I even recall her literally saying she felt dead inside w out chuck the ep before the wedding (during the pact to god stuff).

But then after she wants dan. And then 6 eps after leaves dan for chuck.

Not a dair or chair hater btw this genuinely just confuses me😭😭.

This scene along w every chuck scene w bart in s2 makes me feel for him

Obviously the whole instance of him essentially trading blair to jack was so awful. But i always forget to consider the fact that Elizabeth (his mother) and uncle had teamed up to betray him. It doesnt make me think blair should have been able to forgive him. However, when i consider the other factors his character did seem less heartless to me.

There are so many instances of this being shown in the earlier seasons. Starting w blairs competing and jealousy but i am baffled at blair dating dan. Because she started dating dan right after serena told him she loves him.

I dont understand why no one discusses that but everyone focuses on what happened between nate and serena in high school. And btw i will never listen to people who constantly bring it up because it was very apparent that serena felt so guilty.

When blair started dating dan right after ceces funeral also knowing how serena felt. Whats even worse is that blair was in the middle of a marriage and a whole other situation w chuck of course. It’s just so insane because as viewers we can only imagine and also remember how blair would act about other girls being w chuck such as jenny, eva and sort of raina (her refusal to believe they were serious).

And blair didnt even love dan the whole time so serena was right. She was leaving them alone until she realised that blair was not in love w dan and still wanted chuck. The way she acted was obviously insane by taping dan but in s6 when she explained she “never got over how hurt she was about blair dating dan”, I honestly understood her!!!

Okay i dont even know where to begin but this whole season is a disaster.

Starting w blairs being engaged i hated the whole plot and everything to w the royal aspect of it all. Putting this aside blair was a complete mess throughout her entire engagement. Chuck (despite all his flaws) was honestly doing right by her. He let her go willing at the end of season 4 and persistently supported her and louis. She was the one constantly running back to him and it honestly pissed me off because i thought she deserved better! I dont blame louis for all his insecurities.

But then even more insanity came after because of blairs pact w god. I genuinely could not even w that plot, I could not understand it. And i hope i am not alone in that. Frankly, it was apparent that blair was struggling mentally and needed professional help. I actually really grew to dislike dan in season 5. As a felt like due to his feelings for blair he was keeping her very much isolated when she needed serena and her fiance. And also unrelated but marrying another man bc u believe it is the only way to keep the man u love alive is insane. I understand louis crashout!!😭

After the pact w god the wedding unfortunately goes on and obviously ends catastrophically due to Blairs love for CHUCK. Also bc of dan leaking that video to gg and even worse blaming chuck/serena. Then dan ices out serena which is again an attempt to keep blair close to him and saves her from the wedding.

Then flashforward to after blairs honemoon and all of a sudden she chooses DAN? I felt the buildup for a relationship between them on the show BUT where it was placed makes zero sense. I would have understood blair running away w dan while she was pregnant (instead of chuck). But my mind genuinely could not comprehend this. Like blair wants to leave louis asks chuck to take her back while pregnant and says she will never leave him, then they get in a car wreck and whilst she is devastated thinking she lost him she makes the pact, then she goes through w the wedding soley to save chuck, and then drops chuck for dan. Like the whole reason the wedding (which was the central plot) imploded was bc of blairs love for chuck.

If someone can explain this I would actually appreciate it bc wth😭. And even worse dair dates for like 6 episodes and then breaks up bc blair loves chuck. And this in turn ruins their friendship which i loved. And then the season ends w blair going back to chuck. And blair is love w him in season 6 and hates dan. It was just a mess. And honestly they could have done sm more w blair this season. I enjoyed watching her at nyu more than this complete and utter mess of a season. And in the end i was okay w chair endgame bc blair destroyed every other relationship she had for him (chuck). And didnt let him let go for good.

I would also like to add imo i think dair relationship would have worked much better if louis never existed. Bc i saw the potential in season 4. And also that I honestly understood serena despite the insanity of leaking blairs diary (which i didnt support obvi). Bc blair was w dan bc she was apparently afraid when serena felt that dan is the love of her life. And unrelated but writing this reminded me of how disgusting blair was to jenny after the whole thing w chuck. And honestly i think i dislike every character on this show😭.

Also another thing i would like to ask is why does blair even love chuck when it’s apparent and tbh valid that she thinks the worst of him. Like when she attacked him for paying her dowry and did not offer help when he came to her about Elizabeth.

Tldr; Can someone explain Blair choosing dan after her honeymoon. Considering she confessed her love for chuck at her wedding?
