I’m considering getting prestige passes this year since the gold passes no longer cover all parks and we visit Cedar Point in the summer when we visit family in Ohio. But it’s so much more expensive. It would actually be cheaper to get gold passes at Carowinds and silver at Cedar Point than just buying one prestige pass for each of us. Are the additional perks worth it?
I dropped someone off at the airport yesterday and a cop came over to do a “compliance inspection.” He made me give him my ID and show him the app to confirm I was the same person, even though the app only has my first name. He said they’ve been doing it to catch people driving under another person’s account. Like wtf? Is that even legal? Anyone else had this happen at an airport or anywhere else?
Arrived at an apartment building to pick someone up and stopped where the map told me to stop. I could see them on the map and it looked like they may have been a little further down in the building, but it’s a big building and I stopped where the main entrance appeared to be. After a few minutes, I see this young girl come around the corner and stop and look at me and start shaking her head and throwing her hands in the air, basically throwing a tantrum because apparently there was an entrance on that side of the building that she expected me to come to. mind you, she’s doing all this rather than walk to my car where her ride is. I very rarely cancel if the time hasn’t expired and I know the passenger is there, but the fact that she was acting like this before even getting in my car, I immediately put it in reverse, canceled the ride, and got the hell out of there. Find another ride you asshole.
I try to avoid rides with stops and only take them a) if it’s slow, b) if the pay is to good to turn down, or c) I don’t see that it has a stop. I hate rides with stops because 90% of the time they take for fucking ever and I lose money, so I expect them to take forever. But nothing guarantees it as much as them saying, “I’ll be right back.” That is like a promise that they’re going to take a full five minutes. Same with, “I’ll tip on the app.” When I hear that I know I’m not getting a tip. wtf is wrong with these people, just be an asshole and remain quiet about it like everybody else. Why pretend you’re not going to be an asshole only to be an asshole anyway.
Picked some dude up at a hotel and he gets in and says the app won’t let him add a return trip. I said unless he adds it, I can’t bring him back. I said when the trip ends, he can order another ride. He says, “You can bring me back.” I immediately pulled over and said, “I can end the ride right now and drop you off here.” He decided to stick with plan A.
Is “Steve” just an online abbreviation, or are y’all really calling Steel Vengeance “Steve” like the dude’s name out loud? Even if you aren’t, I’m going to. “Let’s ride Steve next kids!”
I’m a novice but usually able to keep my fish alive well enough. A few days ago I noticed a ton of algae suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I wasn’t concerned because that’s happened once before by leaving the light on too much, which I have done recently, and from what I understood it’s not a bad thing, especially if you have algae eaters which I do. But today five of my fish died. I tested the water and nitrites and nitrates were both high. I did about a 20% water change and the levels are better, and I’m going to do another one in a day or so. But I read that algae can both be good (converting nitrites) and bad (creating a surge of nitrites if it is dying). If it can help absorb some of the nitrites, I feel like that would help, but if it’s dying I don’t want it to make things worse and I’ll just wipe it all off. Anyone know if there’s any way to tell?
Does anybody know when the best deals on season passes usually are? My home park Carowinds just announced a Memorial Day sale that doesn’t seem to save very much considering a gold passes is $105 with the discount and the were only $95 when I bought the last year during whatever promotion they were running. And it’s not even as much value since last year I got all-park access, and now it’s just regional. There’s also only a $4 discount for renewal of gold and silver, and no renewal discount for prestige which you now need for all-park access. Anyone know the best time to buy for next year?
Up until yesterday or the day before, as long as I wasn’t currently on a ride, any new match or offer would show me the route on the map. Now, all I’m getting are the starting and ending locations, it is no longer showing the route, which is really annoying if I’m not that familiar with the area. Is this happening to anyone else?
