Ride the Flippie Boy to the Danger Zone with Armsx3!
After Burner Climax on PS3
A game that (until last night) would freeze up just ten seconds in, now plays all the way to the end, thanks to the latest version of Armsx3 emulator.
All l changed was setting to Vulkan, and installing an adreno-762.10-adpkg driver.
Sadly, l can't get it running on my Mini V1. Could be the Android 10, or the 6gb RAM, I'm not sure.
Anyone know what version of Mame (current) is in the Rocknix build for the Anbernic 28xx?
,...and anyone know why there are two images available for download?
A year and a half later and I'm still finding ways to push the envelope of the Retroid Pocket Mini V1.
Cloudpunk, a game that kept crashing, now running for seven minutes, and no crash yet (knock on wood, lol) thanks to the latest Eden Legacy Nightly and settings suggestions from Al.
Its not easy getting this stuff to run with the driver limits of Android 10, but its nice to see that they're still improving what does work on it.
Anyway, a nice relaxing delivery boy game.
Call of Juarez - Gunslinger - Retroid Pocket Flip2
Story Mode was running well,....until it froze up, lol, but Arcade Mode seems to run great.
This is on Winlator 11 Final with the same settings Al told me to use for Cloudpunk.
Think l just need more RAM for Story Mode?
I'm kinda glad its gonna take four months for my Pocket Micro 2 to arrive.
The credit card bill just arrived. My Pocket Micro 2 is now officially paid for. So, l figure, by the time I actually get this thing, the sting of paying $130 bucks more than my Retroid Mini (the device it will be replacing) will have worn off, lol.
May the force be with you,....'cause this game is harder than three day old bantha crap!
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade on Super3 emulator, on Retroid Pocket Flip2
HOLLY SD CARDS BATMAN!
So l just Googled for a new 512gb micro SanDisk sd card and Walmart wants $105 and Best Buy $199! I'd heard prices went up, but DUDE! $199 is what l paid for my Retroid Mini!
Ouch!
Love this game, but hate that they added mid-game bosses after the original!
I started playing A Hero's Tail (PS2 version) on both these devices. Lost interest on the Retroid Flip2 like six months ago after getting stuck here, then started on the Anbernic Rotate a few weeks ago, and am now stuck in the same place again.
First time I played this game, I got past this point pretty quickly, but that was the GameCube version on my Retroid Mini.
Think maybe the PS2 version is somehow designed to be harder?
The lack of having to defeat a mid-game boss to continue playing was one of the best features of the original PS1 game. Sucks they had to go and ruin the others!
Doh!
Ok, so the car in this one isn't as tough as the one in "Road Rage". Harder to control too!
Simpsons Hit & Run (PS2) - Retroid Mini.
Looks like the Android version of "Tim Burtons - Undead Warrior Princess Bug Slayer" (I believe you kids refer to it as Silksong) runs on the Anbernic Rotate.
I heard the PC version doesn't, so l thought I'd give this one a try. Just in case anyone might be wondering.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm good until the Retroid Pocket 8/Flip5 come out.
I've got a Flip2 what plays all my games, so there just doesn't seem to be a need to upgrade until that upgrade is far more drastic than what's out there now.
Unless maybe someone comes out with a handheld PC like the Win Mini (only at 5" and under $300 bucks) anytime soon?
Its kinda fun finding games to play with just the shoulder buttons.
Game & Watch - Fire Attack - Anbernic Rotate.
The PS2 Micro has entered the building!
Ok, so the Mame version of this simple drum game won't work on this chip, but the PS2 one will? Anyway, thanks to the guy who suggested there was a PS2 version.
Taiko Drum Master - Anbernic Rotate
,...and damn, Madonna is hard to keep up with! 🤠
Its a shame, this game seemed a perfect fit for this little guy.
Just a bit too slow.
Its so weird, this thing can play stuff like Mario Tennis and Simpsons Road Rage on GameCube, Guilty Gear XX on PS2, and Aqua Kitty on Uzuy at full speed, but not this simple drumming game on Mame?
Anbernic Rotate and Taiko6.
Please tell me why this is "low effort posting" with threat of deletion?
Goodbye Mame2003plus, we had a good run!
You were my golden boy for a few years (when low powered Linux devices were the norm) but with more and more devices using Android (and Linux ones getting more powerful cfw) you're just not cutting the mustard anymore.
Sure, most of my games look, and play just as good with you as the current Mame, but there's still that few who don't. More importantly (beginning with Mame 278) they added an audio eq to the menu, which has allowed me to make my games sound a lot better, and more arcade accurate.
So, its Mame4droid 286 on my Android devices from now on. Except my Anbernic Rotate (as Mame4droid doesn't look good on that square screen) so I'm using RetroArch and the Mame 287 core (the 286 core was no longer available by the time I got that device).
Can't do much about my older Linux devices, but on my Anbernic 28xx I have switched to Mame 260/265, as that's the highest Mame I can get in that device with Knulli.
Note: I actually was able to get Mame 278 on my 28xx using Batocera, but sadly the audio eq (and a few other things in the Mame menu) didn't work, so no reason to keep it.
I'll be leaving my Trimui Smart Pro on Mame 2010 though, partly because I'm lazy, and partly because the highest Mame I can get on it is 259, and it doesn't run any better than 2010.
Anyway, thanks for the memories.
Star Wars flying games - from fun to sucks!
The original Star Wars arcade game is still the best! Why?,..because its just a simple flying game.
Fly in space. Fly over the surface of the Death Star. Fly through the trench. Try to shoot as many TIE Fighters as you can. Try to blow up as many towers as you can. Try to blow up the Death Star.
Now enter the more modern flying games (i.e. Rogue Leader on GameCube), where suddenly its about completing a "mission" before you can move on.
Blow up "x" amount of towers before the clock runs out, or the games ends. Shoot down "x" number of TIE Fighters before the clock runs out, or the game ends. All before you even get a chance to fly through the trench to blow up the Death Star.
So, why the change? Why go from simple and fun, to beat the clock one piece at a time? This is why modern flying games suck!
Can't we just get the original arcade game, but with modern effects? Enough of this "mission" bantha crap!
For perspective, my pre-order Flip2 was $224 (tax and shipping included to California) for before you buy the Nova.
That was after a $10 pre-order coupon and a $10 (you own a Mini) coupon. I'm not sure the Nova can play anything the Flip2 cannot?
