Honest to god, my printing looks no better than when I was in sixth grade. It’s messy. Legible, but far from pretty. I’m an ESL teacher and my grade two kids have better penmanship than I do lmao.

However, my cursive is not bad at all. Nothing impressive, nothing consistent and font-like like some others have. But I remember being complimented on it in grade eight by a teacher and that compliment has lived with me ever since, especially because I know how childish my printing is.

I’m a lefty which I think has contributed to it, other lefty friends often have messier printing. Not sure about their cursive, rarely see it these days.

Anyway, I enjoy teaching cursive to my grade two and older students. They’re amazed the first time I show them, it’s a lot of fun. Even my grade one kids want to learn, though they still need to learn the basic writing for ABC so I tell them I’ll teach them next grade haha.

So is there any reason why my printing is so much worse quality than my cursive?

Like the literal pill itself. On average, about once a month, that little shit gets stuck in my throat and I end up dry heaving or throwing up and wasting the meds I took before trying to swallow that little bastard.

I never ever have problems with any other medicine. Just spiro. Fucker.

The title is it. Never come across someone at random in real life who follows FSM. I am blessed.

I’m disappointed that he was reduced to a brute with no intelligence. I was so looking forward to Nobody, how Odysseus took three chances at being a good man and king before hubris took over and cursed him and his crew. How does Polyphemus know who to curse when he prays to Poseidon? An arrow to the eye doesn’t announce a name.

Anyway, what were things that didn’t live up to your expectations in the movie? Or things that exceeded them? Like I loved the addition of Sinon even though he’s from the Aeneid because we get to see him from the Greek perspective rather than the Trojan one.

This has happened in many books, but currently I’m just starting book three of The Queens of Renthia. Fun books, no high stakes, interesting concepts, won’t read again.

And the first sentence of the third book says the Queen is on the highest tower of her castle and can see so far distant that she can see the “untamed lands” beyond her border.

And in the series the surrounding environment is surrounded by really tall trees, like taller than normal, that people build entire towns in.

Yet this lady can see beyond these massive forests hundreds/thousands of km to some mysterious beyond.

And like…I’ve been to the top of Taipei 101. It’s not the tallest building anymore, but it’s really fucking tall. Like insanely high up. And even so you can’t see the fucking Taiwan Straight from it, even though it’s on the western plain where it’s flat.

So either this country is the size of a postage stamp, that castle tree is higher than the Burj Khalifa, or the author doesn’t know how to imagine vast distances accurately.

Anyway, does anyone else get bothered by inaccurate geography in stories? It arrests my suspension of disbelief a lot. This isn’t the first series, it won’t be the last.

Like I said, read it all before. Had to sacrifice hundreds of books when I moved overseas and this was a series I couldn’t give up.

But god I wish the map was more detailed. I want to picture the characters’ progressions accurately in my mind but it’s so hard to do when all you’ve got is a massive continent and four points on a map, five plus Meov.

Literally my biggest complaint is the map. It feels like a waste of pages for it to be there but provide nothing except the bare bones basics of what shows up in the first half of the first book.

Nothing progresses on the map as the trilogy grows. It’s stagnant.

The Stillness earns its name from the maps.

I love this series, this just kills me.
