Best place to get scuba certified around?

Looking to get scuba certified around here before traveling to Puerto Rico next year. I don't know enough about the topic to discern which schools are offering good service/prices, so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with getting scuba certified in Des Moines or surrounding areas and could recommend some place?

UW Blink content?

Hi all. I’m finally being able to save to build a new deck after basically exclusively playing Tron for years. I’m sure the best decision winrate wise would be to build RW Energy, but I like blue too much and I’ve been itching to play with Riddler so I was thinking of UW Blink instead, which I can then pivot into RW or WUB without too much extra investment in the future.

Any content creators y’all like that I could watch to learn more about the deck? I’ve watch Nassif play with it a bunch, and Togores as well, but I can’t find someone who consistently works on this deck specifically (and maybe that doesn’t exist, all good). Just checking if anyone has pointers on people I missed. Thanks!

WU Fliers build [BO3]

First time I found this lane open, so I'm wondering how to build. Feels like a strong deck, but I think the build can make or break it.

Is Maria Hill worth it with just the two counters? Is Quake worth it with how few noncreatures I got? Is 3 Raft Security officers too many? This is just my 4th draft of the format, so my card evaluation is still a bit off I think. Currently thinking -1 US Agent -1 Quake, but very unsure.

Thoughts on WR build?

First MSH draft I've been able to do since I've been traveling for work. I heard around the grapevine that white was really good but that's about all I know about the format, started listening to the set review yesterday but haven't gotten far.

Any ideas about the build here? Wondering if I should have more noncreatures, but I'm not overwhelmed by any of the ones I cut.

Draft, if anyone has the time to give me some pointers on picks: https://www.17lands.com/draft/e40a0ac859e34daf86324f7aa0d7139d/1/1 a few difficult picks, but I think my lane was more or less open

Draft didn't go great. Any suggestions on deckbuilding? (BO3)

Started out as Boros, thought artifacts was open and switched, possible that neither were open and I ended up with a mediocre pool. Any ideas to salvage it?

7-0 with this crazy artifact deck

Still getting a few for the cube (4th draft I think), and I thought this was a 5-6 wins deck at most. Turns out it was crazy. Kappa won 5/7 games, including double Kappa with Saheeli in two of them. Wondering if the white splash was worth it? Never had mana troubles, but the mana base was a tad risky. Maybe should have played Planisphere and some other card over the white, but I felt like I was missing card advantage, and I have a lot of expendable tokens, so it felt worth it.

Sad thing is the start of this draft was p1p1 Arid Mesa, but I saw a grindstone in the pack. Then after Kytheon and Path, I felt good about going into Boros, until I saw Painter's servant p1p4. I felt like that was a safe spec since I assumed no one would take grindstone just cause, and saw Canal, Opal, Kappa, and Emissary the next picks, so it felt like artifacts was open and I was very happy about my spec. Then the wheel rolls around and someone had taken Grindstone! Feels bad. Must have been the person to my right, I assume no one would spec on the combo and not take some artifact cards. Oh well, ended up pretty great. Would still appreciate feedback on the draft if anyone has thoughts, since I'm still very new to the cube. Good luck to everyone on their cubing!

Battle at the Bowl on YouTube

Any idea if Battle at the Bowl will ever come to YouTube? I’m confused on why it’s uploaded to Dropout and not YouTube (for members, obviously). Do I have to cancel my membership on the YouTube channel, then download a whole other app and watch stuff there, why? When they could just have everything members have access to on the Dropout app on YouTube?

Help with cube drafting

Third time I’ve drafted arena cube, first two times I did ok with RW (5-3, 4-3), not amazing but I felt like I mostly understood the drafting.

This time I opened ancestral recall and of course I had to take it. I tried finding my way through the draft but my inexperience is probably pretty clear watching my picks. I found some good combo pieces (Nadu, Titania) but never the enablers for them. Feels like I ended up with a train wreck 4C control deck. I wanted to see if anyone had tips:

  1. On where this draft should have gone?

  2. If there’s any way to salvage this deck?

Still learning so any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

First time with Powered Cube, help with cuts?

First time ever doing a Powered Cube, went in blind for fun. Any thoughts on cuts? I'm not sure about many of these cards since I haven't played with them before. Second pic is my first try at cuts. Feels like 16 lands is fine with this deck, and I'm treating Eagles as a land (maybe that's not a good idea?). Especially unsure about the 4+ CMC cards. Is Fury worth it? Doesn't feel like it with how this deck has no card advantage, but maybe as a curve topper? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Help with ID [Port Royal, South Carolina]

Found in Sands beach, Port Royal, SC. Any ideas which species they could be? The one on the bottom on the first picture I’m pretty sure is not a shark tooth (maybe not a tooth?), but if anyone knows that’d be nice. My fiancée thinks it’s just part of a crab claw.

Thoughts on cuts?

Silverquill was pretty open. I haven't drafted it as much as some of the other decks so not sure what to cut (and whether to bring some stuff in). I was thinking maybe -1 Interjection -1 Wit?

Lorehold was open for once. Thoughts on cuts?

Lorehold was a little too open and I'm struggling with cuts. Are the Dig-Site inventories worth it? Maybe cut one or both Kirols? Unsure. I'd like to maintain as many creatures as possible given Practiced Offense, but not sure what's the right balance.

On a slump, looking for advice

Been consuming a lot of content and studying the format, but I think I must be missing something because that’s not translating in wins. I started pretty hot, had a 69% winrate over my first 10 drafts, and it’s been downhill from there (currently sitting at 54% in 20 drafts).

I was hoping to get some pointers on my drafting. I’m sure my playing can get much better too, but the drafting is where I’m most lost on which mistakes I’m making. Here are a few drafts where I felt like I knew what was happening, and ended up with 1-3 wins.

Thoughts on this draft?

https://www.17lands.com/draft/ef6d0c1478c14583905db15c265ca4ad/1/1

Thought I misdrafted, ended up 6-3. Not mad, but still feel like I'm having some challenges reading signals in this format, so I wanted others' opinions. Some picks I'm unsure about are:

- P1P2: Stock up is amazing obviously, I think goes mostly to preference and I've been enjoying RW but still wondering.
- P1P3: Nothing felt close to Scornmage (though maybe Quick Study or Embrace if I had gotten Stock Up would), but picking 3 colors in 3 picks feels weird--maybe I'm just a noob.

Then for a few picks I flip flopped between RW and BW cause I wasn't sure what looked more open. I'd argue for the middle of pack 2 it was RW, but then the rest of the picks it doesn't look super open.

- P3P7: Maybe Dig-Site is better? I got really worried that I didn't have enough creatures, but Ascendant ended up not doing much in the matches so Idk.

Overall I think I ended up on the right lane, but in this draft (and many others this format) I just felt myself having trouble understanding what was open. Maybe it's the erratic nature of the average arena drafter? I'm Plat 3 for reference. But I also think I could improve for sure. Thoughts?

First time this format I feel like I completely bungled a draft. There were times where it seemed like I should have pivoted to UR but I was not sure enough, and maybe was just bad at reading signals. Not sure I found my lane, and not even sure this is a playable deck at the end here lol not a great first trad draft, but let’s see how it goes. Would appreciate any advice to improve my drafting in the future.

First time at the creatureless(ish) seat. Any thoughts on what to cut? Not sure if the splashes are worth it--a few extra removal spells and a win condition? Makes Agony better I guess.

Curious what your last cut would be from this deck. I think Shattered Acolyte, but not sure. Also curious if you think any of the cut cards should be in. Still getting my bearings in this format but I'm enjoying it a lot

Lost going for the trophy, never drew any creatures and they were aggressive lol so obviously not a perfect deck. But it's my first format back since I stopped playing in 2021, so I'm excited to at least go for the trophy. Still got a lot to learn. Happy drafting!

Recently back from a 5 year break and I feel like I'm way more rusty in limited than constructed. Felt pretty good about this draft but unclear to me if this is the right way to build the deck. Mainly Lute and Sanar--worth putting them in? Not sure what to cut though. Any thoughts?
