Glue marks under marble

We just had calacatta marble installed. There are “glue marks” (large circles) all over the marble. The fabricator said not to worry and this will evaporate over a few days. They used clear DAP.

Please tell me this is the case. 😅

Has anyone seen what happened in Newport Beach last night?

We live in Carlsbad CA but I was disgusted to see the looting and trashing that went on in Newport beach last night. The media isn’t reporting any political affiliation, but as always, we see through this.

What a dangerous path we are on.

Fabricator made all cuts on our marble slab without confirming placement with me - despite agreeing to do so.

Basically the title. I'm absolutely crushed. I spent a year saving and choosing the perfect calacatta marble slabs. I carefully chose my fabricator (or so I thought).

I asked the owner both on site and via text message to confirm (and he confirmed via text), to please show me the placement prior to making any cuts. This slab has some imperfections as all natural stone has and I wanted to make sure I liked the deisgn (after all, it's the centerpiece of our home and a major investment).

Install is next week and he asked if one of his guys could come buy for a few final measurements. When he came by, I said, "great! Again, can you show me the cuts via photos or I can come to the shop before you cut it?" He said..."OH! We already cut everything." My heart sank. Really? After all of this you just CUT it without taking 5 minutes of your day to confirm with me? Honestly why?

They made a design decision to bookmatch the marble on the island. I absolutely hate it. It's not our vibe.

He said our island was an odd shape and they "had to" do it this way. I totally get that - but that doesn't take away your responsibility to communicate when we've agreed to do so.

How do you handle this? I'm honestly just so disappointed.

fabricator made marble cuts prior to confirming placement - am I overreacting?

In the title. We're getting new countertops and 2 months ago, in writing and in person, I explicitly asked to be shown where cuts would be made prior to making cuts. This is a very imperfect slab, as all natural stone is, and I wanted to be thoughtful about where things were going. I saved up for this for a long time and it's the centerpiece of my home. My fabricator confirmed in-person and via text that he would confirm with me. Fast forward, they came out today to confirm a measurement and told me the cuts were already made... WHAT?! I've designed 4 of my homes and haven't had this happen. I'm really really upset about it. I didn't say anything yet except for hey, I thought we'd confirm can I please see what it looks like? I'm waiting for a response. But 20k later... would you be upset? I'm hoping it looks perfect and I can relax but I'm just so disappointed. Thanks for listening.

Tryout follow up etiquette

My son just tried out for a 9U team that his 1:1 coach will be coaching (he does 1-2 hours per week 1:1 in addition to his local rec team).

The coach has said how much he wants him on the team for the last two months buuuut honestly, my kid got the yips during the 3 hour tryouts. It happens!!!

Some of the kids mentioned being 10 and in 5th grade - definitely bigger and totally crushed it.

15 kids came out. They said they’re going to make two cuts.

Over 24 hours later is it too soon to check in? Of course my son keeps asking if he “made it.”

In the meantime, he’s in baseball camp and lining up other tryouts. He’ll be just fine, always a bummer though!! 😎
