Common trend?

I am a recent college graduate wishing to someday pursue forensic pathology. I recently began working as a scribe in an ED. I have noticed a trend and would like to know if it is a widespread trend or just oddly common to my area.

Older (80+) men with a known history of heart problems (CHF, MI, CABG, AFib, pacemaker, etc) who refuse to seek or continually delay getting care for heart-related symptoms.

I can see many factors that contribute to this specific combination occurring, such as the fact that I am in a rural area where people may not be able to afford taking time off and the societal pressure many men are raised with to just "deal with it", but I wonder if this trend of stubbornness is seen in other professions.

Do you see more elderly males with an extended history of cardiovascular issues refusing care before death from a cardiac complication?

New sound, what does it mean?

I've never heard him make this sound before. It is very quiet, but it sounds almost like an owl hooting. Anybody know what it means?

Recurring rash right hand with blisters, itching, and redness. Nummular Dermatitis?

Recurring rash on my right hand that comes and goes for the past 2.5 years, no trigger identified. Reduces temporarily in response to antihistamines (hydroxyzine). Rash starts as small individual bumps with intense itching before spreading into larger plaques and across the hand, still with intense itching. No similar rashes have ever occurred anywhere else on my body. The bumps secrete a clear or slightly yellow liquid when broken that quickly hardens into a crust. When the rash is present, the skin of the area becomes chronically dry despite best efforts.

It's so itchy I think I'm going to have to start wearing gloves in my sleep because I've been scratching in my sleep

Is the boy too chonk?

I would like some experienced and unbiased opinions, because I am used to how he looks.

His spine and ribs can be felt with light pressure and his hips can be felt easily when petting. He has a standard pig diet of unlimited water, 2tbsp pellets, unlimited hay, and roughly a cup of various veggies a day (romaine hearts, bell pepper, and cucumber mostly with occasional broccoli, green beans, brussel sprouts, and herbs) and receives the occasional carrot, blueberry, or raspberry. He does however steal his brother's food so may be eating more than his portion when I don't watch. He has his floor time for at least an hour at least three times a week.

Personal space continues to be a suggestion

Scooby has 14.3 other square feet in which to exist, but has decided that the optimal place to be is right here with his face in Shaggy's butt.

Some lovely colonies on my (soon to be tossed) deodorant

Enjoy these beautiful colonies I found on my deodorant lid before immediately throwing it away. Based on colony morphology and location I'm guessing S. epi. I guess it was the 1%.
