Im not sure how to refinish our outdoor furniture. It’s solid wood and I’m not sure what species. Can someone tell me what wood this is? I was going to sand it where I can reach, stain with dark stain as close to original color as possible, then seal it. Can someone tell me what was used to seal this? It’s flaking off and I don’t know where to start. Also, is there a best solution to use over oil based stain? I’d like to use the same as what was originally used, if possible. It’s Amish made, if this helps. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Can anyone tell me what type of latch I need to buy for my storm door? It’s missing and I need to replace it. I bought the one pictured but they don’t work. It needs to be closer to the door side and these don’t reach. Thanks for any help you can provide. I’ll have to add the latch I bought in the comments. I’m only allowed to add one pic.

Hi & I apologize if this has been asked 100 times. Maybe regional questions apply. My dogwood only had two blossoms on it this year. This is our first spring in this home. We’re in PA, Great Lakes area. Is there some type of pruning I can do (how & when)? Can someone tell me how to get more blossoms for next year? The dogwood we had at our old house was an explosion of color.
