Hi, I’m wondering if this part of our stone arch is structurally sound enough to last forever like this. If not, what do you recommend I do to support it. I’m not a mason but I might be able to try some other things (maybe). The previous homeowners had remains in it. It was a wood box sealed in what looked like an acrylic or plexiglass enclosure. We just haven’t gotten around to doing anything yet. It does get wasps inside the openings and makes it scary to walk around at certain times of the year. We’re in a snow belt with ground heave of that helps. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Update: thank you for all the suggestions. I really appreciate them. (Some were very entertaining and others gave me the direction I needed to go). As a lot of you suggested, I put a concrete block in the space. I have a gap at the top of the block. Should I put mortar on the bottom and try to fit it in place or try to add it at the top? I’ll finish it with stone another time. I’ll add pics of the gap to a new comment. (I don’t know how to add new pics to the original post).

I’m trying to replace a leaking sink cartridge. It’s a Delta. I can’t find a model number. I’m not sure what I’m doing, exactly. The cartridge has what looks like a nut on top of a base, but when I try to turn it, it turns the base and everything underneath where the lines are connected. Any idea how to hold the base & get this nut off?

Also, I can’t get the shut off valve stem out. Can you help with that as well. I’ve used a professional grade non stick dry lubricant by DuPont. (Maybe wd40 should’ve been used, I don’t know).

Im not sure how to refinish our outdoor furniture. It’s solid wood and I’m not sure what species. Can someone tell me what wood this is? I was going to sand it where I can reach, stain with dark stain as close to original color as possible, then seal it. Can someone tell me what was used to seal this? It’s flaking off and I don’t know where to start. Also, is there a best solution to use over oil based stain? I’d like to use the same as what was originally used, if possible. It’s Amish made, if this helps. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Can anyone tell me what type of latch I need to buy for my storm door? It’s missing and I need to replace it. I bought the one pictured but they don’t work. It needs to be closer to the door side and these don’t reach. Thanks for any help you can provide. I’ll have to add the latch I bought in the comments. I’m only allowed to add one pic.

Hi & I apologize if this has been asked 100 times. Maybe regional questions apply. My dogwood only had two blossoms on it this year. This is our first spring in this home. We’re in PA, Great Lakes area. Is there some type of pruning I can do (how & when)? Can someone tell me how to get more blossoms for next year? The dogwood we had at our old house was an explosion of color.
