The tiny white specks on her back are grains of sand.

Finally got a piece of the butterfly pocket!

This is my first time getting an Okorusu fluorite! It's so fascinating to look at.

6/8/2026 Kiowa, CO supercell structure and brief funnel

On 6/8 I followed a supercell that tracked through Kiowa towards Limon, CO. As the storm was leaving Kiowa, a brief, rotating bowl-shaped funnel cloud appeared at the base of the wall cloud, but it failed to touch down. The storm persisted well into the evening hours, eventually crossing into Goodland, KS.

Not your average amethyst

This is one of my favorite stones in my personal collection. I got this crystal from a person who was destashing their old collection many years ago, and it came in a box full of other stones that were either broken or of low-value. I didn't even notice this crystal, it just looked like an ugly hunk of amethyst.

The crystal sat in that same box in my shed for years. When I finally went to clear out the shed, I decided to go through the box to see what I wanted to get rid of. I decided to keep it, even though I *still* hadn't looked closely at it. It sat on my bookshelf for a few more years before I noticed that something looked off about it, and I held it up to a lamp. I can't believe how many times I almost got rid of this thing!

Colorado fluorite patterns

This is by far the best piece of Colorado fluorite in my personal collection, with its beautiful intricate fractal patterns. It's one of my favorite pieces that I have, and it makes for a nice palmstone.
