Southern California man 39 looking for a woman preferably age 25 to 42.

Hi I'm Chris. I'm 39 years old and live in southern California very close to the beach. Blonde (dark) hair, reddish, brownish with a tiny bit of gray in it. 5"9 size 12 shoe, glasses, 220lbs. No kids but a bit of a dad bod. Lost 100 pounds a couple years ago and still would like to lose a bit more and exercise more.

Haven't been in a lot of relationships for quite a while. Circumstances have made it hard to meet people. I would love to meet a kind and caring person who enjoys the little things in life and special moments and connection over a ritzy lifestyle. Being silly, dorky, battling through life together. Enjoying eachothers company while also allowing eachother space when needed.

I suffer from some chronic health issues that affect things. Would love to meet women who may struggle with something similar or who is sympathetic with that. Will provide pictures to anyone who messages for one.

I find unconventional things very beautiful. Things like acne, scars, crooked teeth etc.

I love playful sarcasm and being a silly goose.

Hope to chat with you,

Chris

Some questions about playing crosscode on steamdeck and the game lighting.

So, the shadows are really really dark and it's impossible to see. It's only on my steamdeck. I can't check on a computer because I don't have one. On my switch the lighting is perfect. I don't have a picture on hand but can add one later.

Is it the settings? I tried turning brightness up all the way and it didn't help completely. It's more something in the game I think. I am not having this problem with other games. Just crosscode. It's like the character and parts of the world that are in shadows are completely invisible because it's so dark.

Just got an OLED Steamdeck and playing Crosscode (my second favorite game of all time) for the second time.

I have always been a Nintendo guy and so the steamdeck is new and first experience with pc gaming in 20 years. I didn't play the DLC on my first playthrough because I wanted to specifically save it for the second playthrough so there would be new content to experience with tough challenges.

But since I'm playing on me deck and not my switch I can't do any new game plus stuff which is totally fine because I don't want any perks or anything. Just looking forward to enjoying the game. The massive OLED screen is absolutely beautiful and experiencing Crosscode on it is gorgeous. It is such a beautiful game.

Anyways, this dialog made me laugh and don't remember it from my first playthrough😂

Just got a steamdeck a few weeks ago. I have been a Nintendo guy since the regular Nintendo so steam is very new. Loving it. I'd love some recommendations for free to play metroidvanias, action rpgs, or story driven platformers, Zelda-likes etc. That are available on steam. No moba game type stuff.

You guys have any recommendations? I have downloaded a few. I'll list the ones i have that seem decent: Janosik, hargrave, garm ruins, external visions, treasure adventure game, and fraukis adventure (though I can't seem to get that one to boot up. It just infinitely tries to load up and then won't let me exit out so have to factory restart the console to get out of it😢)

Anyways, I love all kinds of games so not just looking for metroidvanias but just any good free games.

Ok. I thought the difficulty spike at the first Sol was hard.... but Lasy Ethereal is a literal and figurative nighmare😭

Playing nine sols as a massive metroidvania fan. It's amazing but OMG this game is HARD! The first Sol boss is insane for a first major boss... does 30 or 40 times already and only come close to winning 3 or 4 times. It just seems too much off the bat. It's fun though and getting better. Not a chore

Please help. I just got a brand new steam deck oled. Never had any previous experience with a steamdeck before though I'm a phoenotopia veteran. The display seems off like it's not showing the entire picture. Screenshot included to show the issue. Can anyone help me figure this out?

I just got a steamdeck and so was perusing the steam store trying to figure out what games I'm going to get and saw that crosscode and a new home is on a steep sale. Crosscode alone is 4.99$ or you can get the bundle with crosscode, a new home, and ninja skin for 8.03$ what a steal!!!

"Heeeeyyyy yooouuuu guuyyyss!!!" -Sloth from Goonies. So I just ordered a Steamdeck and it came in the mail yesterday. Need some starting game recommendations for games that are NOT available on the Switch.

I have zeroo prior steam experience at all. I've only had a Switch the last few years. I coul really use some help with game recommendations for metroidvanias and Zelda-likes that are NOT available on the Switch. The whole reason I decided to get a steamdeck is so I can play games that I've been barred from due to only having a Switch, which I love to pieces. I have almost 80 metroidvanias and maybe 20 more Zelda-like games on my switch. Definitely have not played all of them. But looking for some recs if yall know any must plays.

So far I'm looking at environmental station alpha, valdis story, zexion, biogun, moonlight pulse, last vanguard, frogmonster, lone fungus 2, treasure adventure world, and a couple action rpgs that look cool secrets of grindea and shrines legacy.

Let me hear your must plays for steam! Pleeeaaase. And thank you😁

Question: will there ever be a physical version that includes the DLC A New Home on the physical copy?

The TLDR is the title.

I have a really wonderful library of games on my switch lite. I love action rpgs and metroidvanias the most. I've got almost 200 games in my library which are almost ALL digital and only played about half of them. I don't mind digital games but there are a handful of games (maybe 5 or 6) that I really really want to get physical copies of for posterity sake so that I can play them in something were to go wrong and the stores went down or Nintendo changes their rules and closes the switch eshop someday.

Among the physical games I want are: phoenotopia awakening, hollow knight, Silksong, mina the hollower, unsighted, and eastward.

There isn't really any problems with any of the games except that they are all indie games so I would have to buy them from ebay and pay a lot of money. Like phoenotopia is 100$ for a new complete copy. There is a version of hollow knight that comes with all the DLC on the physical cartridge which is awesome. I'm wondering if there's anything like that for crosscode or if there ever will be. Obviously I still want a physical even if there isn't ever a version like that. But the DLC adds soooo much to the game. It really gives it a full on postgame with tons to do. I know you can just download the dlc but I'm talking about one day when that's no longer an option I'd love to have a physical copy.

Long-winded I know. Just jabbering.

With love,

Chris from California

Went back to play pipistrello after playing mina and realizing how similar they are.

I played pipistrello quite a while back snd didn't finish it because i wanted to save it for later but after playing mina I was just reminded sooo much of pipistrello. It's actually really interesting that pip came out much before mina. Even the underground save cave complete with dummies to test your weapons on and badges to equip to modify your moveset and stats. I wish there were more games like this. The only other one that comes close is unsighted.

I wish pipistrello got more attention and love. It's a brilliantly designed game and very well made. Very similar platforming puzzles and using currency to bothe upgrade stats as well.

I'm almost done with mina and will be sad when it's over. Though I would like to get the alternative secret ending at some point as well as beat the new game plus mode up to 7.

Just finished the castlevania advance collection and getting ready to dive into the DS collection. My thoughts on the AC and need help on figuring out what order to play the DS games.

I got all 3 collections last month on a great switch sale. I had only played part of circle of the moon before in high-school. So, I decided to play the advance collection first. Starting with circle of the moon, then harmony of dissonance, and then aria of sorrow. Harmony was great. Lots of bosses and it was fun mixing the elements with the sub weapons. Loved spamming the cross with either the wind or thunder elements to decimate bosses. Lol. I also loved the dash mechanic in harmony. Being able to forward dash as well as back dash just felt really good and made traversal feel great and backtracking not tedious.

Aria of sorrow was by far my favorite. All of the different weapons and souls to equip and mess around with was a lot of fun. And out of all 3 of the games I felt aria had the best story and character progression/depth. Particularly the true ending and learning his true identity. Aria felt like the first game in the collection with actual substance to the story. Loved the secret area that I figured out how to get to on my own which felt proud of. Though to be fair I just finished la mulana so the little puzzle to get there was not too hard to figure out😜

All in all, I really loved playing the advance collection and I'm ready to dive into the DS collection.

When dealing with collections I typically like to either play through the games chronologically. Especially if story is important or the mechanics evolve in a way that makes playing them in order the best. For instance the Megaman battle network collection playing the games in order (loosely) is the best.

But with castlevania the story is not hindered in any way by playing them in any order from what I can tell.

So I want to play the 3 DS games in order of worst to best. I like doing it this way because it can be really hard to go back and play a worse game in a series after starting with the better ones.

So here's where I could really use some help:

What is the order of worst to best with the 3 DS castlevania games? I realize that this is a subjective question but I'm hoping that hearing other people's opinions and what they liked most and disliked the most and why will help me choose which order to play them in.

Just a couple of my thoughts about it so far. I've never played any of the DS games before so that's important to know.

Aria of sorrow was my favorite of the advance collection, and from what I hear dawn of sorrow is basically just like aria. So I'm wondering if that will be my favorite? I'm also really intrigued by portrait of ruin. It looks fascinating and I know that it is a lot of people's favorites out of the DS games. So I'm thinking as of right now that I should save dawn or portrait for last and start with order of ecclesia.

So my fellow metroidvania and castlevania fan friends, what is the best order to play them in?

I like to keep a folder in my backlog of games that I already know that I'll love. But don't want to play them yet because sometimes I'm really sick and It's hard for me to get into a lot of games. Do I keep a list of games that I know will be easy to get sucked into. Mostly metroidvanias and Zelda-likes. Have a few rpgs down below Mostly action rpgs.
