1974ish American history text book for Detroit area

I'm a trying to figure out which American History text book would have been common in the mid 1970s in Detroit. I think it was: Rise of the American Nation (Third Edition) by Todd et al. This is the 1972 edition, so perhaps the second edition would have been more common in 74/75. Anyone remember this book? Can anyone point to a different book?

We are traveling with our toddler. Usually these bulkhead seats are the kind with a hard armrest that do not raise. But sometimes in the middle row, one of the armrests raises. Does anyone know on this configuration if one armrest raises in the middle seats? Airbus A350-900
