What is more midwestern than playing euchre?

Playing euchre this weekend got me thinking…

What’s more Midwestern: playing euchre, or playing euchre while discussing the previous hand in excruciating detail as the next person is shuffling and dealing?

8x6 Backyard Sauna - Foot Bench Access

Hi! I’m in the final stages of designing a 8x6 outdoor sauna with a 7.5’ ceiling. The benches run along the 8’ wall. For those of you with a sauna of similar dimensions and with a foot bench above the rocks of a stove, how do you access the foot bench? My dimensions are a 29” from wall to front top bench (1.5” gap at wall, wide 27.5” top bench) and a 19.5” foot bench. The foot bench will be able to slide back a little so that will gain me a few inches from the door to first bench but it’s still a steep climb to that bench! I appreciate any thoughts/recommendations/pictures of your solutions!

I’ve included a sketch. Look at the 7.5’ floor (blue highlight from floor to foot bench). I sketched it out with an 8’ ceiling too but that seemed too high a rise from floor to foot bench.

Credit Union Movement

I love credit unions but these billion dollar shops are making it hard to defend the industry. Michigan State Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) no longer participates in shared branching. It’s a $5 fee for members to use non-MSUFCU branches and I don’t think members of other credit unions can use their branches. They’ve just announced charging 5% to members for change machines - no max level of free use as most shops have. I always considered shared benching a cornerstone of the movement - providing scale for smaller credit unions nationwide - but it seems MSUFCU wants to do it on their own and charge their members for it.

It’s too bad this is the state of the movement.

1926 Quarter

I found this and a corroded penny when I stopped into a grocery store. It’s certainly well worn but a great find nonetheless!

Mammoth - Wheel/Castor Repalcement

Hi! I was moving my Mammoth and one of the wheels snapped. It’s a heavy unit so I don’t want to tip it to measure so can anyone help me identify what size castor I should order? I liked the stock wheels but may be looking to replace with rubber and a little larger. Thanks so much!
