Do you consider the Game Awards Orchestra for GOTY to be a good addition to the Game Awards?

When I first started off in watching the Game Awards, which was 2015 (I rooted for the Witcher 3 to win GOTY), we didn’t really have an Orchestra. I noticed that in 2017, the Orchestra came up and started performing ever since.

How do you all feel about the Game Awards Orchestra, performing every year for GOTY? Do you consider it a good addition?

Just logged in after nearly a decade.

Last time I played was in the beginning of Path of Fire, that Balthazar expansion.

I first started off in 2012. Finished the base game and Heart of Thorns, came back for Path of Fire eventually but ended up leaving because my passion for the game, as well as my premature judgement that the game was dying, existed.

Now, I'm finally back. Got hit with a TON of cosmetics, dyes, boosters and containers. I got like, eight or nine birthday gifts that I ended up opening. Stayed on an airship with not a clue on what to do next. I'm behind on an immeasurable amount of content, and obviously, I don't know where to start.

Any help on this?

Well, Mina the Hollower's difficulty feels just right for me.

I managed to finish the game. Those 32 hours went by really fast, never stopped playing the game all week.

I played a lot of Souls games in my days. Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. Got pretty far in Dark Souls 3 but other games seemed to have piqued my interest during that year (Doom 2016 and Titanfall 2), and managed to beat Elden Ring while I was going through a strong period of depression (I feel a lot better now).

However, I never touched any of those Zelda games, never really got interested in them.

Starting off Mina the Hollower was not that bad. There were some enemies, sure, but no enemy or boss felt insanely difficult to me. I used what the game gives me: a few juicy bone farming spots (the Crypt room with two healers, a sludge monster and a bone monster, and in the start of Sandfalls, a hidden room consisting of a giant desert monster that gives like 900 bones each run), some pretty powerful trinkets, and a fully-upgraded Guardian Casket.

  • Guardian Casket feels overpowered, but I like it lol. I can do so much with it: block attacks, throw the shield, attack with it, and parry for juicy damage. Very strong, but yet very fun weapon. Definitely a step up from the Nightstar that I rolled with early to midgame.
  • Trinkets were probably my best friend throughout the game. I had two trinkets that permanently boosted my attack and defense, a trinket that literally revives me, a trinket that makes me walk faster, a trinket that gives me more Plasma, another that gives me more burrow time and one that makes me walk across gaps with spider webs. By the end of the game, I had like six trinkets simultaneously and I felt OP.
  • Farming spots didn't really feel needed, but I thought "why not? it's in the game." I easily found myself buying out multiple stores throughout the game, so I get a lot of upgrades.

The combat and platforming of Mina turned out to be outstandingly fun. Not too easy, not too hard, just right. There was that struggle at-times, but it was a good struggle.

74 deaths throughout the game, 44% completion.

Overall, I absolutely enjoyed the game and I can't wait to play it again! Can't wait to see Mina the Hollower at the 2026 Game Awards.

Having the Ultimate tier within the membership roster feels.. strange

On my very first day of AI Dungeon, I decided that I fell in love with the platform so much, I went straight for the Mythic tier. Never stopped paying for it ever since, and I felt good paying for a great tier, that appeared to be the highest amongst the non-Shadow tiers. I felt like I had all I need, minus the extreme amenities that you get from Shadow tiers.

Then, Ultimate came along. Blew my Mythic out of the water.

It's that subscription that feels identical to Wraith, but that feeling of not having the highest in the non-Shadow tiers just feels odd. I'm fairly certain beyond Papaya from the Beta, and DeepSeek V4 Pro at 4k-8k, Ultimate will gain a lot more in the future, and I'm just one tier short of that. If it was 75 bucks, then I probably would have made it happen, but doubling my sub at 100 is insane.

At the same time, I felt like I'm so close. That's definitely the odd part.

Worth coming back in?

Last time I played was well, when I was in my senior year of high school. It was way back in 2018. I played a lot of Calamity Mod back in the day, although I haven't really made any progress through the difficulty modes at all, stopping at just the beginning of normal post-Moon Lord. I had a TON of fun with the mod, though.

After I quit, to this very day, I've been waiting for Yharim to be added to the game so I can lock in and really make some progress on the bosses and difficulties. It well, hasn't come yet lol

Should I still step back in since it's been a long, long while?
