Is it a drift at all? )

Hello!

Since I don't have a track nearby, I just spend time like this and, I actually really, really love it!

I put Velcro on my tyres in order not to scratch the floor. I'm not sure whether it's drift or not though )))

But it's really fun!

I had to spend some time in order to figure out some settings. Of course, I still haven't found an ideal one and am sure that it's somewhat impossible but I'm experimenting heavily )))

The most popular direction in RC right now

Hello!

I'm quite a newbie with RC cars but I already have a decent number of them (two rally cars, one basher, two drift cars and one crawler).

For me, almost everything boils down to drift in some sense, whether it's a rally or bashing (not crawler thankfully but I also tried on snow). We don't have much sun and most of the year we have a bad weather. So, I actually noticed that a drift car works quite well for me. I may drift a bit right in my room between working tasks. I love it, really!

But today I heard an opinion that drifting is dying and crawlers are on the rise.

What do you think about that? I know it heavily depends on where you live.

I wish I lived in a house not in a flat, then I would definitely have a garage and make some kind of a track there.

And what's more about drifting - I find it just beautiful and really really pleasing. I love to control it, love when a car slides. It's cheaper that drifting on a real car which makes me love it even more.

Thanks to rc cars in general, I found out what caster, toe, ankermann angle is and how it actually works with real cars too. So, I really pleased with it.

Love it wit all my heart!

HPI Stage D10 tuning

Hello!

I just bought it and I love it but I find gyro wobbly.

I tried to adjust it but it's still not as good as an afrc gyro on my Sakura d6.

So, I think that maybe order another afrc for HPI.

Does it worth it? What else to tune?

My next thing is to change transmitter to radiolink cause I already have one.

What else to do?

I think servo and motor is fine?

Tools.to create ai agents

Hello!

Quite recently I saw an interesting tool which allows you to construct ai agents.

But I completely forgot the name.

So, let's discuss it?

How can I build my own ai agent?

Preferably using JavaScript.

Thanks!

How to properly setup chassis?

Hello!

I heard a lot of times about camber, toe, and tried to set up something.

I saw several videos but they sometimes are quite controversial.

Can you suggest good tutorials or maybe videos?

I have a Sakura D6 and I attached my current setup. I think I setup an ankerman angle properly and if I understood correctly, rear wheel should point inward and front outward, right?

I attached the photos of my chassis.

Thanks!

My little drifting breaks between working tasks

Hello!

Just built my Sakura a little while ago. It rode quite badly initially but it seems that I managed to understand why it was like that.

I so so much love how it performs!

It's not ideal right now (I'm waiting for a proper servo now) and I think, I'm going to experiment with settings BUT I love it!

This is a huge advantage of working from home )))

And the question for you all:

How to protect the floor from scratching?

Thanks!

Share your stories if possible

Hello!

It looks like I'm facing a choice - missing two teeth or having an implant.

I don't really like it mostly because of the online stories (like the one I just read a few minutes ago here about the man in Turkey who ended up being in a wheelchair).

So, I'm really afraid of complications. But I also know that what we read online and what we have in real life differs a lot.

So, please, guys, share your stories.

I'd be really glad!

And I believe it's be really helpful for those facing the same choice.

How to correctly setup a gyro for drift (AFRC GYS2 V4)

Hello!

I'm quite a newbie in drift.

I have a Sakura D6 chassis and recently I bought an AFRC GYS2 V4 gyro and at the initial impressions it seems like not that better than my prevoius non-drift gyro (FlySky GC-401).

What I did is:

  1. Set the travel setting (like turned it on with SW switch, turned wheels to the left, saveed it and to the right).

  2. After that, comes very interesting point - this gyro offers tho modes - normal and AVCS. I thought that for drift I should turn AVCS mode and the car became almost uncontrollable (I tested it in my flat, so no so much space unfortunately). The wheels return really slowly.

  3. Next, gyro direction. Here as I understood from videos, wheels should follow turning direction? If I turn car body on the left, should wheels turn on the left too? As I understand it, they shouldn't, beucase if the wheels turn in the turn direction, the car just spins around 360 degrees, it's not a drift at all.

So, I ended up with this setup - if the car goes left, wheels make counter steering to the right, it allows me to control it more precisely.

  1. The gain, I put it for about 20%.

I undestand that this is mostly a skill issues, I'm a really newbie in RC drift and try to understand how to do it right.

So, I'd glad for any advice, thank you guys!

My first ever build (Sakura d6)

Hello!

I've built my first drift car ever )

I choose Sakura D6 as a chassis

For motor and ESC I chose Hobbywing Xerun Justock 13.5T ( I bought a combo)

For gyro I chose FlySKY gc-401 (I'm waiting for afrc gyro now)

As for servo, I installed the wrong one - 40kg servo for rally cars. I had it and put it temporarily.

As for the body - I chose Killerbody Nissan R31.

To be honest I didn't expect that this car would ever ride but it does and it was even simpler than I thought.

Although there were some nuances I wish I knew before.

So, some issues which I currently have:

  1. The light module from my killerbody requires ch1 and ch2 to be plugged in and after that to the receiver. It seems to disrupt electronics and the car behaves strangely.

  2. Sakura fake brake discs have the issue when I try to secure wheels they stop rotating because these fake discs tightened to the hexes. So I took them out.

  3. I had to purchase a hobbywing programming card in order to set the correct punch

  4. I had to setup the throttle and steering curve on my transmitter in order to be able to control the car

So, a lot of work is still to be done.

Initially the car just spinned around because of the above issues. But now it's more predictable and controllable (but still not ideal).

And maybe the skill is the main issue here.

I would be really glad to hear some pearls of wisdom of how to set it up properly and maybe to change something.

Has anyone tried HPI D10?

Hello!

I'm quite a newbie in rc drift.

A few weeks ago I assembled my first drift chassis - Sakura D6 and now HPI releases D10

It seems like a way better chassis, is it?

Has anyone already tried it?
