Always in pain

I am waiting for an appointment to get an MRI done. The doctor put me in an aircast boot about a month ago. I am getting no relief and no progress! They were thinking plantar fascitis, xray showed no fractures but I am in constant pain! I also noticed when I press or squeeze the sides of my hell area it is very sore. Constant throbbing! I'm starting to wonder what is going on!

Plantar fascitis pain

About three weeks ago I was seen by an orthopedic doctor. I went in for plantar fasciitis, thinking I'd leave after getting a cortisone shot, but I ended up leaving in an aircast boot and a script for an MRI. X-ray was done at the appointment and came back showing heel spurs in both feet, arthritis in both feet also with swelling. My right foot is worse, every step I take after sleeping through the night, or sitting and getting up is causing extreme pain. I feel like I'm stepping on Legos! When I'm sitting it's just a constant throbbing pain. My work was provided with ADA paperwork to limit me attending window duties, which they denied! The doctor sent an updated letter stating no repetitive standing or walking. I kept track today and I was up multiple times from my desk to get the window counter. To give an idea, the window bell rang: 8:47, 9:03, 9:06, 9:13, 9:28 and so on. Is it normal for it to not feel any better or any relief even with the boot on?!

Aircast boot for this!?

A few weeks ago I went to the doctor thinking I would get a cortisone shot and be on my way, I left without the shot and in an aircast robot looking boot! I have an MRI scheduled and X-rays showed no fracture. With the boot I'm still experiencing pain, especially around the heel. Today it is throbbing! I want to cry! I hate bothering the Dr but I think maybe crutches would be better to completely stay off of this foot?

Super toxic work environment giving me anxiety!

I have a very toxic work environment, it's a chaotic, fast paced and mentally draining place to work. One supervisor is very emotional and goes from being happy to short tempered easily. Management is aware but it's brushed off as that's just "them". Add to that, a newer person started a few months ago and thinks they are running the show. I've been looking for other jobs and applying but it leads to nowhere and I can't just quit, as my family needs healthcare which I get from work. Lately though, the person that acts as they run the place has been crossing boundaries, I get text on my days off and it's really annoying. They will gossip about the workplace or message they are"just checking in" on a weekend because I left early on a Friday for an appointment. Recently I had a family emergency and was out for three days, the person text me asking who was working with me so my response was I don't know who's there, I'm not there, dealing with family matters. They went on to tell me how I cannot live a normal life with my health and work, like they were trying to pick my life apart or something. Mind I also tend to keep to myself and don't over share, so upper management or a supervisor would have had to tell this person something about my health or they assume they know.

PRT app

Has anyone had any trouble adding funds to the PRT app? I had no issues Monday or Tuesday and today it kept showing an error message. I did contact via chat and was told the zip code was wrong but I don't see how that would be the problem as it worked all week up until today.

Started Losartan hydrochlorothiazide

Would it be reasonable to call out work if I just started this medication yesterday. I was at work yesterday but called off today and am thinking about calling out tomorrow also to rest and get used to it. I've been going to the bathroom more often. I feel bad if I call out but my work office is also usually 78/79 degrees and I feel like it made it worse for me yesterday.

Heat intolerance

My TSH is 9.55. I switched from Synthroid brand to Levoxyl about two months ago. I take the medicine when I get up, brush my teeth and then wait 30 mins before I drink or eat anything. The Levoxyl feels like it dissolves before I can even swallow it. I've been feeling very tired lately. Has anyone else had issues with Levoxyl dissolving? Also, I work in an office and it's a tiny closed room with no windows or air flow. At times, the temperature is 80 average. Could that make thyroid conditions worse? Like the fatigue?

Allegheny County no longer covering spouses medical insurance if they can get it through their own employer?!

Has anyone else heard this yet?! I saw it on Channel 11 news, with this and the pension being in limbo, I guess working for the county doesn't look so appealing anymore! Thoughts? I see this as kind of steering people away from applying or staying in a position. The pay isn't that great, the work conditions aren't that great. I'm curious what people's opinions are?

FMLA interference

I've never been through this before and am looking for some other experiences or input! I've been with my employer for about 3 years. I have intermittent FMLA. Last year the FMLA ran out because I had surgery and used consecutive FMLA for about 4-5 weeks. Upon returning I requested ADA for conditions that were related to the original intermittent FMLA (used for lab work, doctor appointments), I was denied the request to be able to leave early or start late to get lab work/attend appointments. A few weeks went by and I again asked for ADA paperwork in which I was told I would not be given ADA forms because I was already denied (replied stating this was for something different), it was for conditions in the work environment and allowing breaks during said conditions. My doctor had filled out paperwork stating they were medically advising breaks every two hrs for ten mins. HR came back and said every three hours and to clock out for the breaks. Another incident is I reported for my shift and the conditions in the work place were not safe for me to be in, so I immediately went to the supervisor and told them that I could not stay in which they said I knew you couldn't and said fine, I called admin and left a vm what occured and that was that. The next day I was written up for not following proper call off procedures (even though it wasn't a call off, I showed up for work and the conditions made it impossible for me to safely stay, I left a voicemail that I had to leave because my medical conditions were being aggravated by the working conditions). They withheld my pay and denied to mark me as vacation/FMLA and said I left without permission etc. I filed an eeoc complaint and now I am nervous what are the next steps? I'm actually still employed there.

Allegheny County pension

Hi-

Has anyone heard anything as far as any updates with the lawsuit going on with the County and their pension fund? I can't seem to find anything. I'm curious how much of a risk it is to employees that are not yet vested but would be in another 8 years or so? Thoughts or opinions?

Dental work decisions

I recently had a molar become infected and had to get a root canal done and then a crown. My dental insurance maxed for the year and now not even two weeks later, another molar on the opposite side and lower bottom is becoming sensitive. I think the old filling is chipped or cracked. I'm worried it will be the same as the other and I don't have any insurance left to cover anything. Since it's the back molar, would or should it be fine just pulling it? I was thinking of having it pulled, because the filling is deep and the tooth is turning dark towards the bottom, and then getting an implant in January when my insurance will have allowance again. I also want to add I had jaw surgery 20 years ago and they moved my lower jaw forward, would that effect if I have a tooth pulled?!

[PA] Workplace protocols

I work with the public and yesterday I had someone fill out paperwork and hand it back to me (through a window slot, like at banks), apparently they were bleeding and upon them giving me back the paperwork I noticed smears of blood on the papers. I don't want to sound like I am over reacting but should I ask that this be documented or let it go? I told my immediate supervisor yesterday about this and they just responded ew, throw it away. The paper was placed in the shred bin and nothing else was done.

I have a supervisor that does a certain task handling the money and then disbursing checks to be mailed. Rather than mailing those checks themselves, they will set them on my desk with a note for me to mail them. The issue is that the majority nod the time, this is done while I'm on lunch. There is a lot of traffic that comes into the office, it is also a shared office space. I'm debating on addressing this or letting it go, if one were to come up missing, the last person who "had" them would be ...my desk. Not to mention, these have routing and account numbers on the checks. Thoughts?
