Hi everyone, I’m building a dating app project and really wanted to get a perspective on "dating app burnout", especially female perspective.
Filtering through hundreds of low-effort profiles or generic messages just to find one decent conversation is exhausting. To counter this, I'm testing a concept focused on intent.
The idea is an "Earned Reveal" where men can see one clear photo, but the rest of the profile and photos only unlock after the person actually reads your bio, answers a specific prompt, or leaves a thoughtful comment. The goal is to filter out the mindless swipers and highlight people who actually want to connect.
I'd love your brutally honest feedback on two things:
- Does this "slow" approach actually appeal to you? Or does it sound like too much work in an already busy life?
- How do we build trust? The hardest part of building any dating platform is making it a space where women actually feel safe and valued enough to join. What specific features, verification methods, or community rules would a new platform need for you to trust it?
Would really appreciate your thoughts!
