I have no friends what do I do?

I am a freshman and I thought I’d find people to be friends with unlike in middle school when I had no friends and was pretty much a loner. I didn’t find anyone to talk to and if I did, they all eventually left me since I am shy to ppl when I first meet them and do not talk much. They might have thought I was boring or had a bland personality. How do I fix this? Or if I can’t, how do I accept the fact that I’ll likely be a loner again?

I need to stop being so scared

I had my first actual debate today and was supposed to have my argument prepared in 15 mins. I got such a bad claim that I had no idea how to support it and decided to squeeze out some random argument I didn’t even believe in. I had to debate with an opponent and there were judges to decide whether I can join the debate team. My opponent said her claim first and I couldn’t even hear it bc I was so nervous. When it was my turn I was on the verge of crying and told the judges to let my opponent win because I was too scared. I eventually said my claim and my voice was shaking and I stuttered too. How do I stop being so nervous? I thought this could go away with practice but I’m not sure it will because I feel absolutely petrified when debating.

How bad is Spanish 2 actually?

I made it into Spanish 2 and I’ve heard some teachers go really fast with their lessons and expect you to know everything. How hard is the class? Is it really time consuming and are exams difficult? Should I drop the course if I has to guess on a few questions on the placement test? I feel scared it might drop my GPA, even if I do love learning Spanish.

How do I stop freaking out when I can’t think of a counterclaim?

I am trying to learn how to debate, but I feel like sometimes I get so nervous when people counter me that my heart races and I start to apologize or agree to them. I always remind myself that the next time this happens I will try to stay calm, breathe, and stop being so afraid of failing because its inevitable when I’m learning. I also cry very easily, and I’m afraid I might start yelling or cry like I do in arguments. I’m wondering if I shouldn’t try to join the debate club if I get so emotional over this. I‘ve tried all the tactics people tell me to do like breathing, counting in your head, telling people to wait a few seconds while I think of a claim, but they don‘t work. How do I stop?

Can people who made it into Ivy Leagues show me their extracurriculars?

I have no idea what extracurriculars to do and I don’t think I have anything specific that I will focus on. I think some inspiration would do me wonders because maybe I will get some motivation and a general idea on how crazy extracurriculars are. I feel so lost and don’t know where to start, and thank you to anybody who replies.

What backpack do I buy for high school?

I’m going to a high school where lots of people warned me that I will have to carry heavy masses of stuff with my backpack, and I don’t want it to rip or fall apart. What’s a durable backpack with a cute decorative design? My mom told me to get a jansport, but I don’t like how simple the design is. For context last year I had a bacpack with a bunch of keychains and plushies and laces. 😭😭 Please help me and thank you in advance!

What do people mean when they tell me to write “multiple speeches”?

I’m very much a beginner to MUN, and I remember one person recommended me to write multiple speeches, saying I should write at least 5. I didn’t understand what they meant, and I can’t seem to find their answer when I asked what they meant. What topic are the multiple speeches on? Do I say all of them or choose one? Thank you in advance! I’m planning on joining a MUN club at my school.

How do I get better at these (specfific) things?

I’m really bad at debating and I have no idea how to get better. I’m planning on attending a MUN club when I go to high school this fall, but I’m pretty sure I’m not prepared. How do I speak more formally? I can’t helped but say ”um” and ”like” as startings for my sentence. Also, how crazy is the vocab delegates use? My vocabulary is very poor in my opinion. Any tips on how to get better?

Do my extracurriculars need to be spiky or well-rounded?

I’ve heard many different things, all contradictory, across YouTube, articles, and people. I’m not sure which path to take and I feel scared because I don’t want to do my extracurriculars all wrong. One source says well rounded applications are the biggest mistake but others say having a spike will hurt your chances. Also how do colleges know about passion? Some students on r/chanceme have CRAZY extracurriculars and I mean like olympiads, national award, and developing techs used by hospitals and they still don’t get in. I would say these awards show passion, but I had no idea why they were rejected. For example, look at this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/collegeresults/s/xQzJi0eQJO

I’m kind of scared because I heard there’s a lot of tests

About how many tests/quizzes/exams are there for Stuyvesant in a week? Any tips on how to manage time and study efficiently? Also would you say the questions are tricky or try to trip you up with wording and other stuff?

I DIDN’T KNOW AP SELECTION IS LOTTERY??

I heard that it’s really hard to get APs at Stuy and someone even said the max they saw someone get was 2… and another person said even with a average of 99 someone got NO APs. Im genuinely getting scared now because I never knew and don’t think I’m gonna get any APs if it’s just lottery and I’m not that confident about having above 95 either. Is the lottery thing true? And if it is, how much of this AP selection is a lottery? Is it mostly a gamble or does you GPA have effect?

Do my extracurriculars have to be well-rounded to get into college?

I‘ve heard so many different things about how extracurriculars should be like one person said they should reflect a well-rounded student, but another article said they should focus and specialize in the major you are going to apply for. I’m genuinely so confused at this point and I’m wondering if I did everything wrong. Should I have done a sport? I’m not good at any sports and I don‘t have enough time to get good…
