[[Life // Death]] (worthless bulk uncommon) is only in 25k decks, compared to [[Reanimate]]'s (6€ for it's cheapest printing) 868k according to EDHrec but it's 90% as good. It can only target your yard, and it costs 2 instead of 1 but it's still a great option

[[Persist]] is in 101k despite being worse IMO because of of the legendary restriction and the fact it kills small utility creatures you might want to bring back and [[Animate Dead]] is deservedly in 394k decks. Animate Dead is probably better in most decks

The other thing Life // Death has going for it is being able to animate all your lands. It can be risky and you can get blown out but I've won casting Life before a [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] before and if you have aristocrats effects it can give you bodies to finish your opps off if you just need those last 5-10 points of damage

The fact it's Golgari and not mono black probably also factors into it being underplayed but still, it's a great card and it's like 5c or less for its newest reprint too

The Le Creuset kettles are shoddy from what I've seen and they have ugly, bulky plastic parts.

I would love to just buy a Simplex but they're all incompatible with induction stoves

Does anyone know of any high quality, induciton compatible kettles with a similar look to Simplex kettles?

Short background:

I'm in the privileged position to have a largish property on the countryside and we're knocking down the old house to rebuild.

Before you get all up in arms about knocking it down instead of renovating it the reality is that due to building standards and practices in the 19th century it would literally cost at least 3x as much to renovate and that's if we do it modestly. On top of that if we keep it standing too long we're only just outside of the age range where it might become a heritage site and then it's basically a sacred calf that can't be touched without blessings from a priest and we don't want the headache.

Point is:

I'm just a hobbyist and want a space to play and record music that isn't our bedroom, space isn't really a factor cause we should be able to build another 60sqm building next to the house without any special permits and our budget is pretty flexible cause of savings plus we're all handy + some of us have experience in construction, know a lot of handy people and have a lot of tools

What are some things I should pay attention to beyond good insulation and room shape? I would hire someone to give us advice on those

My current thoughts are:

• Give the space its own electrical separate from any of the other buildings. 2 circuits, one for everything music and one for everything else. My brother-in-law is an electrician and will be doing all the electrical
• Is there anything else I need to pay attention to in terms of grounding etc.? Is grounding in a studio different from grounding anything else?
• No dimmers, all the lights should be simple on / off + all LED. Probably not super important with the lights being on a completely separate circuit but still
• Electrical sockets everywhere throughout the room + RJ45
• Uninterupted power supply + battery
• Plan for an air-gap to isolate the room as well as possible
• Doors and windows should seal as tightly as possible
• Have its own bathroom

Am I on the right track?

They were our first fine dining experience on our vacation to Prague to celebrate my partner finishing uni and they're one of the main reasons we've come back to Prague a second time (to be fair we live a train ride away in Germany)

Really really solid dishes, the Kulajda is a beautiful refined version of a Czech classic and the reason they're on our list of restaurants we will always visit if we're in the area. The mains have all been stellar but obviously changed between visits. The only thing that wasn't great was the cheese selection desert I ordered the first time. I've definitely had better both presentation- and slection-wise and think it's inclusion is a bit of a "it's there cause everyone else has it" kind of thing which is a shame cause their other deserts were much much better. I'm not a wine-snob but their wine pairings were perfect to my taste

It's also really reasonably priced. Both times we've visited it was under 150€ for both of us pre-tip

We've since been to 1 and 2 star restaurants but V Zátiší is our favourite restaurant so far and the only one we look forward to repeatedly visiting

Ich komme aus einem einigermaßen berühmten Problemviertel im Ausland und mittlerweile sind so viele bekannten aus meiner Kindheit tot, dass ich sie kaum noch zählen kann. Das macht mich fertig

In Vergangenheit hab ich versucht damit klarzukommen indem ich mich aktiv an guten Zeiten oder lustige Momente mit denen errinert habe

Letztes Jahr bin ich in die Heimat geflogen und hab erfahren, dass noch eine weitere alte Freundin tot ist. Ich hab im Kopf versucht alle mal durchzuzählen, die nicht mehr da sind und hab festgestellt, dass ich es nicht mehr schaffe und das fuckt mich ab

Im alten Kreis redet man nicht bzw. nicht viel darüber. Es ist ein wenig taboo

Und ich kann auch nicht im neuen sozialen Kreis darüber oder über meine Kindheit etc. reden, auch nicht, wenn Leute mich explizit fragen wie es war etc., weil ich entweder das Gefühl bekomme, dass sie mir nicht glauben oder, dass sie sich extrem unwohl fühlen. Viele Aspekte meiner Kindheit waren halt nicht schön sorry

Klar ist es unangenehmt zu hören, dass ich mit 15 eine obdachlose Freundin hatte, die sich prostituirt hat oder, dass Smartphones für sie das leben erleichtert haben, weil sie mit Fotos von sich in der Umkleide mit weniger Risiko ihr Geld verdienen konnte. Dass ich mehrmals auf dem Schulweg an leichen vorbeigelaufen bin etc. aber das ist eben meine Realität

Ich merke einfach wie unvorstellbar das für viele Menschen ist. Sie kennen Armut aus Hollywood und verstehen es durch die Sicht eines Protagonisten, der / die es schafft mit Mühe und arbeit aus der Armut in die Mitteschicht zu kommen. Die wirklich schlimmen Sachen werden beinahe nie thematisiert und das ganze wird auf "Jeder kann es schaffen" reduziert. Jeder Diskurs um Armut wird mit schlaumeiern und hochnäsige Kommantare wegen Meritokratie einfach ignoriert als wären arme Menschen alle dumm und faul oder geben sich nicht genug Mühe etc. weil es 100% garantiert für alle klappt wenn man das macht

Es versteht allgemein praktisch niemand wie es ist so großzuwerden, wie schwierig es ist rauszukommen und wie komplett ignoriert man sicht fühlt. Wie es sich anfühlt zu sehen, wie Politiker über dich und deine Nachbarschaft sprechen, als wärt ihr Kakerlaken oder Unkraut die beseitigt gehören

Dazu fühle ich mich schuldig, weil ich mittlerweile gut verdiene. Wenn ich einkaufen gehe packe ich die sachen im Einkaufswagen, die gut / lecker aussehen und muss nicht darauf achten wie teuer das alles ist und habe trotzdem Geld für Urlaub, Altersvorsorge, Hobbies etc. über. Es fühlt sich schon ekelig an das auszutippen. Ich weiß, dass das irrational ist und, dass ich nichts böses gemacht hab und ich spende auch Geld und bin aktiv bei der Tafel, Bahnhofsmission etc. Ich fühle mich trotzdem scheiße, wenn ich an die Leute denke, die auch hart gearbeitet haben, die hart arbeiten mussten, um bloß am Leben zu bleiben und trotzdem tot sind. Das versteht auch gefühlt niemand

Ende letztes Jahr hab ich mitbekommen, dass das Mädchen wovon ich gerade geschrieben habe, die mit 15 obdachlos war etc. gestorben ist. Zoe. Was mich auch abfuckt ist, dass es mittlerweile einfach so gesagt wird mitten im Gespräch als wäre das nichts und dann geht's zügig weiter. Ich verstehe, dass es viele Gründe gibt, wieso das ist bzw. eventuell so ist. Vielleicht ist es für die anderen aus dem Kreis auch schwer und sie zeigen es einfach nicht nach außen. Ich weiß, dass es bei einer gemeinsamen Freundin von Zoe auch der Fall ist.

Wir sind alle noch keine 30.
