[HOB] Gleaming Splendor (foil) jumps to $60

[HOB] Gleaming Splendor (foil) jumps to $60

Presently 11 foil listings on TCG.

I remember looking at foil copies less than a week ago and they were around $42. Seemed to have jumped quickly. Very in-line with the flavor of the card though (foil, "Gleaming").

Happy hunting.

What's up with players trying to strong-arm other players into doing suboptimal things with their cards?

I've only been invested in the format for a couple of years so please bear with me. Been curious about where others stand on these situations.

A typical scenario might go like this:

It's turn 1 or 2. Active player announces that they're casting a tutor. Another player goes, "Hold on a sec... Let me show you this." and they reveal a counterspell from their hand to the active player. They go on to say "I like the idea of you going and getting a basic land instead." or something to that effect. They'll maintain that they need to hold onto the counterspell for a real push.

Now my knee-jerk reaction to this type of politicking leans on the side of: "Okay. Counter it. Go ahead." Rationale being, if you want to counter my tutor, just do it and let's move on so we can lose to someone else. I might even say as much. This is just a way to put it back on them.

Sometimes they immediately back down because they realize they can't puppet another player so easily. But I've seen strong-arm tactics like this work on people too (myself included).

Is this common practice? Is it bad business by either player in this scenario? Is there a better way to negotiate these situations?

Help with the oracle text of a card

Apologies if this is not the correct sub, but I enjoy creating test cards and I'm not always certain if the way that I word the oracle text is in keeping with how oracle/rules text is templated. Kindly asking for any help refining/correcting the following:

---
Legendary Land

Imprint — When this land enters, you may search your library for a legendary land card, exile it, then shuffle.

This land enters tapped unless a card is exiled with it.

{T}: Add {C}. If a card is exiled with this land, instead add one mana of any color.

---
The wording of the second effect (requirements for entering) is the part I'm unsure about. The activated ability may also be slightly off too. Any help is very appreciated.

How does Mindbreak Trap interact with [LCI] Flashback and [THB] Underworld Breach?

Let's say the conditions exist to cast [[Mindbreak Trap]] for its alternate {0} cost.

If you cast and resolve [[Flashback]] and target Mindbreak Trap in your graveyard, can you cast Mindbreak Trap for {0}? Or do you have to pay {2}{U}{U}?

Alternatively, if your [[Underworld Breach]] is on the battlefield and you have access to casting Mindbreak Trap from your graveyard, do you still have to pay {2}{U}{U} and exile three cards from your graveyard? Or can you pay {0} and exile three cards instead?

Edit to the title: [SOS] Flashback

Ruling for [6ED] Recall

One of the ruling states: You don’t choose which cards in your graveyard you’ll return to your hand until after you discard cards. You choose a card in your graveyard for each card you discarded, then you put all cards chosen this way into your hand at the same time. You may choose to return some or all of the cards you just discarded.

Let's say I only have [[Recall]] in hand (one card).

It's my main phase, I cast Recall, and I declare X = 1. It resolves, but I have nothing to discard. If I understand the card correctly, I don't get to put a card in hand from my graveyard since I didn't discard one card this way. Is that correct?

My girlfriend recently lost her Pro 4 case. She has the buds themselves. She says she can't find any replacements for the case on the secondhand or certified dealer markets. What's the play here to replace it? Will an older case also work perhaps?

If anyone cares to take a look at my Lady Octopus build and suggest any tips or pointers on what could be refined, I would appreciate it.

Current lines are HBH, Glaring Fleshraker/Sensei's, Filigree Sages/Orrery, IsoRev into a mana sink like Ballista or infinite storm into Brain Freeze, and Karn/Mycosynth Lattice. I know that a couple of these lines are more like "attrition" lines (HBH, Karn), but it's mono blue. I figure Arcum does the same sort of thing. Lady Oct seems to want to play like a value conduit in a similar sort of fashion.

The off-meta cantrips feel weird but are really useful in getting those quick ingenuity counters up. Choices like Recall and Inspiration from Beyond are for Intuition/Gifts Ungiven.

Curious if I could use a more wider stax package as well.
