Why are there so many 20-somethings letting their parents control what they eat on the vegan subreddit?

There are posts literally every day from young people that say they want to be vegan, but their parents won't let them. When you ask how old they are, they are grown-ass adults, albeit young ones. What is going on with the youths?

This is my companion animal.

This is my companion animal. His mom is a llama. His dad is a fruit bat. His step-dad that raised him like his own son is a kangaroo.

Has anyone ever gotten flowers from Chewy?

My heart dog (Chi Pom mix) died and I marked her as deceased in her Chewy profile so they wouldn't accidentally send me more medications. A couple days later, these flowers showed up from Chewy.

I know they are a big corporation, and I have spent a ton of money at Chewy's pharmacy, and I know this is obviously like probably a marketing thing, but I was so surprised and touched that somebody acknowledged the magnitude of that grief and loss for someone like me that feels like they are a dog mom.

How the heck do we move forward with FIV cat?

Hey there, I'm hoping for some guidance. I'm desperate for any safe wisdom on a path forward.

A stray cat started showing up at my aunt's house in Forsyth County, GA. Her community is really, really different than mine on the West Coast, as you can imagine. She trapped this cat and planned to just do TNR, but it turns out he is extremely friendly, not feral, just stray. To give you some idea, I asked her about her trap process and she said "he just started coming to my door and screaming for attention and food so I picked him up and put him in a cat carrier."

She took him to a TNR place and they neutered, diagnosed with FIV, and treated an ear infection. So now she can't release the cat outside. He is locked in her basement, he screams all day to be with people because he is lonely, her family is absolutely pissed, and no organization will help. Not a single one. He can't come upstairs because her own cat will attack him and that cat is FIV negative.

I posted him on Adopt a Pet. No inquires at all. I asked tons of local orgs to cross-post him. Not a single one even replied. I know it is because they are overwhelmed.

My aunt has so much on her plate working full time and caring for three (yes three) disabled family members. She's drowning in stress and now the cat is screaming in the basement on top of it all. She spends all of her free time with him, but it isn't enough. She tried making her basement nice for him with perches and stuff. It isn't enough. He wants to be around people so badly.

I guess I am going to make her a flyer to see if someone at a grocery store or something will consider adopting him. I don't know what to do. Any advice? Thank you so much in advance. Photo of the stressed out cat for cat tax.

Are there any dog-friendly notaries?

Problem 1: I need to have a document notarized.

Problem 2: My Chihuahua has separation panic and can't be alone right now. He's old and tiny and doing his best.

Are there any home visit notaries in Portland? Or, alternatively, any notaries out there cool if my extremely friendly and quiet Chihuahua son comes along in a dog purse?

Thanks for any recommendations in advance. Here's a picture of the little guy so you feel sorry for him and want to help us with notarizing documents.

Shitty homemade vegan pizza with a self-aware vegan pepperoni

Pepperoni are Field Roast. Cheese is Violife mozzarella shreds. Had to start making my own pizza because even mediocre pizza in my city is like $37/pie. This pizza used to be $5, but with inflation it costs me $7 or $8 a pizza now.

Just adopted this nerd. I'm scared I might accidentally crush him.

I just adopted this little dude. He weighs six lbs. He's tiny. He wants to sleep in my bed at night, which is cool. All my dogs have always slept with me. This little guy is old and his life was really bad before, so I want him to have nice things like sleeping with everyone in the big bed. He has separation issues right now so I don't think sleeping elsewhere is even an option for him emotionally right now.

The problem is that the little dude burrows under all the blankets and presses himself next to me or my husband while we are asleep and unaware. How do we not crush him? I've been trying to give him his own blanket on top of the comforter, but he is still sneaking under the big blankets to burrow right next to me.

I'm really scared I will crush him and injure him. What can I do to keep him safe in my bed? Thanks for any advice!

IsN't He *jUsT* DiVIne???

He's just so beautiful. Tom Braidwood is giving the Canadian, snuggly, wilder-pappa bear vibes we all need in these trying times.

Can I paint myself?

Hey century home guardians! I'm going to ask a super dumb question, but is it stupid to paint my own house (interior) instead of hiring a professional? How bad can someone with no painting experience do? I see all of these influencer videos online that make it look like no big deal, but if it weren't a big deal, then professional painters wouldn't exist, right? I feel like I am missing something. I just spent $25k installing HVAC in my 1917 house and I would like to save some money by doing it myself, but I also don't want my house to look bad. Thanks so much for any sage wisdom or tips!
