I'm honestly tired of people lacking media literacy

I've seen people accusing Taylor of pandering to creepy men for using Catholic schoolgirl imagery in the new album and the title track video, and let me say that this is a bad faith interpretation of the concept, Taylor said that this album is very personal and she wants to acknowlege all aspects of her life and make peace with her past, the school uniform is clearly a reference to both Jenny Humphrey's character and her Catholic school upbringing, it's not meant to be shock value for the sake of it nor is it pandering to certain demographics of men. I'm honestly tired of people misinterpreting female artists intentions.

If I had a nickel for every time a girl raised as a princess became a full fledged villain out of spite for the main character...

I was watching Descendants 3 and realized that Audrey and Diaspro share the same core motivations for turning evil, both hold bitterness towards the main character Bloom and Mal for "taking away their prince charming".

One of my fav bands The Pretty Reckless just dropped their new album and one of the songs is called Dragonfire which made me think of Bloom.

For all the sapphics on this sub, this Jenny haircut from s2 kinda reminds me of Shane from the L Word

Taylor said in an interview that she got inspired by Joan Jett to cut her hair that way, and Shane's character in the L Word was based on Joan in terms of style and haircut since Joan has always been seen as a sapphic icon, both Taylor and Kate Moennig (the actress playing Shane) took inspiration from her even though their personal styles were different .

Can I say smth? Given the current trend of celebs (who were already thin to begin with) looking almost skeletal bc of ozempic and restrictive diets, I'm glad Taylor hasn't fallen victim to these oppressive beauty standards and instead focuses on working out and boxing, like look at her arms

I think both Valtor and Lord Darkar represent two different aspects and interpretations of the devil archetype

While Lord Darkar can be seen as the devil in his monstrous form (which was the common representation in medieval paintings) which represents primordial and metaphysical evil, Valtor instead fits more the version of the devil described in Milton's Paradise Lost, as being more of a seductive, tempting and charismatic figure (at least in his human form).
