Guide to access the xplore calendar

So I have been seeing a lot of candidates asking how to see the upcoming onboarding dates in the Xplore Calendar. So I am posting this

First go this below link and login with the credentials (referenceID and password) if you don't have any password then click forget password and reset password, you can then login to the xplore page with different UI than regular xplore page. In this you can see a sidebar, click on "My Calendar" -> "Global 11 calendar", then you can see couple of drop-downs. In the 1st drop-down select "community" and in the 2nd drop-down scroll to bottom there you can see the recent onboarding dates.

Login link:- https://learning.icai.org/LX/login#lx

If this link doesn't took you to the correct page then keep the page logged in and then try out the below link

https://g91.tcsion.com/LX/login?c\_id=tcs-xplore-announcements-2025-12320715-2030#lx

It is recommended to do this in your laptop

Everything you need to know about TCS ILP Learning

A lot of people are confused about what is taught during ILP, so here is a detailed post regarding it. I have previously made a post regarding the General ILP experience so you can read it here if you haven't.

On the first day of ILP, you will have induction. Usually the HR welcomes you and gives a brief introduction about the program. You will be asked to sign a few documents and have to submit the documents such as signed offer and joining letter, service agreement (for ninja candidates only), Form 9, etc. You will already be informed prior to joining on what all documents you need to carry. The day then continues with different sessions on TCS policies, information security, safety, etc. The HR will also tell you about the TCS platform, health insurance, leave structure and various other details. You will be given a coupon for free lunch and snacks on the first day.

The second day is similar. You will have various different introductory and informative sessions. Your training will typically start from the 3rd day.

The training mainly involves two parts, biz skills and technical training. The biz skills training is common for everyone where they teach you how to speak, act, communicate and present yourself professionally. The technical training include sessions on programming languages, frameworks, softwares, etc. which depend upon the stream/domain you get. And for those who ask, no, you don't get to choose your stream. You will be randomly alloted a stream according to TCS bussiness requirements. It doesn't matter, even if you were proficient in Java, you might get a python stream and vice versa. It totally depends upon your luck.

The third day onwards you will have biz skill sessions and get some time to complete Mandatory courses. For the first biz skills session everyone introduces themselves and the faculty also divides you into groups and asks to come up with a short story on a topic which can be presented by one of the members. The next subsequent sessions are usually regarding stuff like etiquette, email writing, listening and speaking skills, feedback, appearance and dressing, team work, conflict management, office etiquette, presentation skills, etc. these sessions happen over a two- three week period.

Along with this you will have to complete some mandatory courses regarding the above mentioned topics, which will be informed by your faculty. Some courses are udemy courses and some of them are on their iEvolve Platform. You can usually skip through these as long as you understand what the content is about and clear the assessment (MCQ questions) at the end of the course. (It's not that important, you can take multiple attempts in order to get the desired score % and mark the course as complete). These are not graded and your focus should be to complete these on time. (Some Udemy courses might be over 23 hours so skipping the content makes sense). And you get ample of time in your training room to complete these courses.

Now the assesment that matters for the Biz skills is the Versant test. It's a speaking, reading, writing assesment to judge your English skills. Typically 90 marks and you need to score over 60 to clear but the exact clearance threshold and maximum marks might vary. You can search it's name for more details but in a nutshell, it has anywhere from 4-10 sections. The sections could be:

  • Repeat the sentence spoken by the speaker
  • Speaker speaks a sentence split in 3 parts with jumbled order such as : Is green / my neighbours / mango tree And you have to rearrange and speak in a logical order.
  • Speaker speaks a small story and you have to understand it and type in as much as you can recall.
  • Speaker speaks a sentence and you have to type it as it is.

And many other types of different sections. More info about this test can be found on yt. Again the test can have different levels and different types of formats so I can't tell the exact pattern. If your English is good, then it's pretty easy to clear this. Just make sure you speak slowly and steadily and don't take pause or use filler words. Also remember to carry a good pair of wired earphones (type - c or headphone jack) with a good quality mic and be clear as many people are giving the test in the same room and them speaking might interfere with your speech. If you don't pass, you typically get a few more chances to clear it, the faculty conducts your interview just to check your speaking skills and you are allowed to give the exam again after a few days or weeks. If you still don't manage to clear it then you might get LAP which means after your training is completed, then you have to wait an additional 10 working days (2 weeks), prepare and study and then give the exam again. Most associates clear this in at most 3 tries so don't worry too much.

There are also other biz skills assessments on grammar and writing skills that you need to clear but you get multiple tries for these and although some might be difficult many people use the no no techniques to clear these since they are not that strict.

Another important part about the bizskills is the biz project presentation where in you are divided into groups and each group gets a presentation topic. Every member has to speak for ~ 1 minute. Make sure to prepare good slides (well illustrated and not too much text) and also include a lot of audience interaction for this presentation. Again, you get ample of time in your training rooms to prepare the presentation and practise it. The faculty shares all the details about its format, different roles, expectations, etc. I don't think this is graded but you should practise it well and try to give your best.

Along with biz skills the technical sessions go side by side. Now the tech stack and what technologies you will be taught as well as the training duration will be totally dependent upon what stream you get. Earlier prime candidates usually didn't have technical training but recently they have started to include prime candidates in technical training as well so the training duration might be long for prime candidates too.

The first few weeks of the technical training usually revolve around the basics of programming. For example if you get an AIML/ data / backend dev related stream then you might be taught python, sql, Unix, basic html css, etc. in the first few weeks. Otherwise they might reach you java, sql , web dev basic, or C, depends totally on your stream. You will usually have an assignment for each of the subjects they teach you, for example a python or java assignment to make a class based library management system, sql or Unix questions and you have to write queries / commands, design a simple html css js webpage, etc. Nothing to worry about, these are easy and you get plenty of time to complete it.

You will also have to complete a lot of the mandatory courses for these tech stack that you get and then similar to the courses in biz skills, these are on Udemy or iEvolve and you have to complete them on time.

For the technical part there is a group project as well. Basically a small project where you have to use all the technologies you have learned so far. There may or may not be a presentation for this project so be prepared.

Now the important exam to clear for the technical part is the PRA (Project Readiness Assessment). It includes MCQ and coding questions (100marks total) based on the tech stack you have learned. You have to get 80% to clear the PRA. And similar to the versant test, if you don't manage to clear it, then you might be sent to LAP. There is also a second PRA but this one may or may not be conducted, depends on the technical faculty. In our case the associates who didn't manage to clear the PRA were given a second chance instead of being sent to LAP.

There is also an IRA (Initial Readiness Assessment) which is another MCQ based assesment containing ~30 - 40 MCQ questions on the technologies that you will be learning, depending upon your tech stack. This is just to check your baseline knowledge and its grades don't affect anything.

Once the first few weeks of technical training are completed, the next few weeks revolve around the tools and technologies that you will be actually using. For example if your domain is java, they might teach you JDBC, springboot, etc. If your domain is AIML the might teach you pytorch, scikitlearn, etc. if you domain is data engineering then pyspark, databricks, etc. Again every topic / tool will have a certain number of days assigned and at the end of the topic there will be an assessment related to what you learnt. There might also be additional courses to complete related to these topics.

Once this phase is done you are approaching the end of the ILP and you usually have a Group Project at the end which needs you to use all the tools and technologies you learned throughout the ILP to solve a problem statment. You will get around a week to complete this and finally after presentating the project, you will be released from the ILP provided you clear all the assessments and do not have LAP. You will get a few days to report to your base location where you meet with the RMG who will then allocate you to a project after clearing an interview with the team.

Helpful Tip: Sometimes the answer to the MCQs for all the assessments in general is usually the Most detailed/ longest option. Even if you don't know the answer, reading the options and choosing the one which has the most detailed explanation usually works and is correct most of the time. You can use this trick if you are unable to answer any question.

There are a lot more things covered in ILP which are beyond the scope of this post. Overall it's a pretty relaxing phase where you are paid for learning. You will get a lot of free time which you can utilise to learn and upskill. There won't be any work related stress, you get to spend time with friends and make new memories. So enjoy the experience as much as you can and make the most out of these days!

Training pattern has changed in TCS

It's been 2 weeks and my experience in tcs is worse. I have been selected for Digital Role in Bhubaneswar and their training 🤡. They are giving new courses every day to complete and simultaneously giving mock tests to complete in the same day. In the office I have to sit for hours, the faculty just reads ppt(Completed JS in 1 hr🤡 and Unix too🙄). They don't explain anything clearly, upon asking, says to check in Net. Now they have given a task to make a whole Vehicle Rental System in 48 hrs. Now I have to complete the course everyday(at home too), have to give mock assignments at home, give the mock interview and this system within Friday. Is this training a joke? At least teach about the things u are giving as a task. I completed my last semester exams in April only. And main point, next Wednesday I have an assessment where I have to score 80% to pass(consists of Unix/sql, Java with Oops, Java DSA code and mcqs related to it. Will take in hackerrank ). If I fail, they will put me in leap or something, where if I don't perform well then I have to pack my bags according to them. Idk what to do I am new to this place, maximum those who are in this training are of 2025 batch and MCA students. They know everything and I know nothing. If Infosys is giving training properly, why can't TCS ? I am so tensed rn
