I live in Istanbul and I've been watching the city change at an insane pace. I finally spent the last few weeks putting together a documentary about the "urban transformation" project in Türkiye. It’s 34 minutes long and covers everything from the earthquake risks to the massive new skyscrapers. It's a huge, controversial project. Old neighborhoods are disappearing overnight to make room for earthquake-safe buildings. I really wanted to capture how the city is basically tearing itself down to start over. If you’re into urban transformation or just love Istanbul, I’d love for you to check it out. I tried to look at the human side and the architectural side. Curious to hear what people think about this kind of rapid rebuilding.
In the photo is the Autobahn, a commercial and posh area in southern city of Hyderabad, Pakistan. The picture is from last year when road was completed, it doesn't look this clean now. But the problem is there has been no order or civic sense ever. Like any other city of Pakistan, it is un walkable. Check out the way cars and bikes are parked. Also note down the zebra crossing. The so called civil servants, who are considered most intelligent people of the country passing the competitive exams, never thought about pedestrians especially at a shopping street. Thankfully I no longer live in the country.

Guys, I'm feeling lucky to have moved to Türkiye last year with the following news I am interested in your opinion, is Turkish bidding to become next UAE with tax incentives?
Surprisingly nobody has shared the following news in this sub yet:
President Erdogan just announced a major new tax package to attract foreign investors, entrepreneurs and wealthy individuals to Türkiye.
If you haven’t been a Turkish tax resident for the last 3 years, you may pay 0% tax on your foreign income and capital gains for 20 years after moving to Türkiye.
That means income from abroad like stocks, dividends, overseas businesses, freelancing or foreign investments, could stay tax free in Türkiye for two decades.
Inheritance and gift tax is dropping to a flat 1% for qualifying people. Current rates can go up to 30%.
Manufacturing exporters may get corporate tax reduced from 25% to 9%.
Other exporters may pay around 14% instead of 25%.
Türkiye is also expanding tax incentives for foreign client digital and remote services.
You do not necessarily need to stay 183 days in Türkiye to become a Turkish tax resident. In many cases, having your main home, family base or center of life in Türkiye can establish residency.
The proposed law is surely coming into effect with ruling government having passed previous bills easily in the Parliament.
If this passes mostly unchanged, Türkiye’s residency ($200k) or Citizenship ($400k) by Investment program in real estate could become one of the strongest value for money CBI/RBI options globally right now especially for people with foreign investments, online income or international business structures. It would combine citizenship, lifestyle and longterm tax advantages in one package.
