Anyone know where I can find the Amtrack [sic] at Washington Union Station?

Apparently Google doesn't know how to spell Amtrak

Interesting incumbent losses

Why is Yu losing heavily? Was he involved in a scandal I wasn't aware of?

And what makes someone vote against the incumbent Register of Wills?

(Please don't shoot me, these are both genuine questions!)

Primary election day today! Alternatives to vote411.org?

I'm on my third attempt to get through my ballot on vote411.org, but the website keeps freezing and crashing. Are there any alternatives out there? I know the Banner has a decent voter guide, but it doesn't cover all the races or specify who's on my ballot (i.e. what district I'm in).

Amtrak is now running Superliners on the NEC!

Don't worry about them being too tall! As you can see in this very real and definitely not AI slop picture, Amtrak shrunk the Superliners down to the height of an Amfleet car!

Unfortunately doing so made them really really heavy, which is why they have to be pulled by a diesel locomotive running under the wires.

SmartTrip fraudulent charge but also not fraudulent?

Hey folks,

A couple months ago I had some fraud on my CC. My bank caught it before I did, stopped the transaction, got me a new card, and all was well.

The purchase was for approximately $195 from something called Trip.com

Now here's where WMATA comes in:

Today, I receive a letter from my CC saying that, having completed their investigation, the charge was not fraudulent. The transaction now shows as "METRO $6.75" - which, they're right, would be a valid charge.

Obviously I need to call my bank and get some further clarification, but I figured what the heck I'll at least ask here first: has anyone else has had anything like this happen, where a SmarTrip tag gets sort of aliased as something else?

TIL Maryland DOT observes the rarely used British spelling of "Closed"

...and also forgets some other letters too at times.

So if you're in College Park, watch out for those nigtly lane clousures.

Can anyone identify the year of this advertisement?

I took this picture of an ad inside a PCC trolley at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum over the weekend.

All I know is, it's prior to 1961. Beyond that I have no idea. It says it's a night game, if that helps. But it doesn't even give the day of the week, which would help quite a bit.

Because of the closing procedure?

At first I thought this was just a silly mistake, but I guess it makes sense actually when you think of how the last trains of the night are a coordinated meet.
