Hi all! I stay home with my 20 month old full time and I know they say kids are more emotionally open in their “safe space” but I need advice! I know she is still very young, in a very big season of growth, and nothing is ever perfect. But my daughter listens so beautifully when her dad tells her to do or not to do anything. I get lucky maybe 10% of the time. Most of the time she throws the biggest tantrums. She gets aggressive (kicking screaming throwing things hitting biting) simply from me asking her to do something she doesn’t want to do. It doesn’t matter how calmly I approach the request and the tantrum, she still has the biggest reactions. I put her in her crib for a little break to calm down and she screams bloody until I come get her. When her dad puts her in there, she’s calm within 5 minutes. Any advice how to regulate this?
We don’t have access to a pool and I want my child to get more exposure to the water. We did swim lessons for the first time this summer and want to continue to have regular access to a pool for her to keep up those skills until our next sessions! Open to indoor/outdoor options. Looking in areas west Tampa to Dunedin and down to st. Pete. Thanks!

Anyways, we’d love recommendations. We live on the north end of the bay and are very active with our 2 year old. We have two kayaks we’ll be dropping in this weekend and would love to know some great spots to explore. We’ve been to honeymoon island and are planning on a trip over to caladesi soon! What other recommendations do you have? On foot or kayak! We’re even open to day trips further south but no more than 1.5hr drive from Dunedin. Thank you!!!

Hi there. We are new to town and are absolutely loving exploring all the nature around! We went to honeymoon island as a family this weekend and had a blast. I would love to take my daughter during the week but would like to know if this is a safe choice to do as solo as a mom, because the park is very large and I hear it gets more desolate on the weekdays. Hi there! My first pregnancy was high risk, lots of appointments and our NICU time was traumatic to say the least. That being said, our daughter is perfectly healthy now and we want to try for baby #2 this year. I’m excited to grow our family but terrified of experiencing anything like we did with our first on top of being pregnant and postpartum this time with a toddler. I’d love to hear your stories on pregnancy and postpartum after having a NICU baby.
For context— our daughter was in the NICU for a congenital birth defect that had an unknown cause and a very unlikely chance of occurring again in future pregnancies but still, the fear is there.
