Drew myself: is this any good?

Drew myself: is this any good?

I drew this cover for a mash-up of two literary works. Solitary people in nature are the usual covers for said books, so I'm mimicking that while having the overall aesthetic of a classic novel. My art skills aren't the best, so is this good enough, or should I hire a professional?

Why Frankenstein Adaptations Fail Victor Frankenstein

Why is Victor Frankenstein rarely portrayed accurately in adaptations while his creature is morally superior to his book counterpart? Here's my best guess.

Scammers Emailing my Author Account Be Like...

I wasn't prepared for the amount of scam emails post-publishing, so I made this. Happy to say I've actually had several people buy my novel though!

Lovecraft's Mythos meets Frankenstein: The Shadow Beneath Ingolstadt is Out

When you tear the veil between life and death, beware what waits on the other side...

What happens when Victor Frankenstein and fellow reanimator Joseph Curwen decide to work together at university? Nothing good for humanity, that's what. Such is the premise for my debut novel: The Shadow Beneath Ingolstadt! As a massive Lovecraft fan, I had a lot of fun referencing his work throughout the narrative. Joseph Curwen and Victor Frankenstein both bring back the dead, so them interacting during Curwen's canonical 9-year trip abroad in The Case of Charles Dexter Ward was too good a premise not to turn into a novel! And Victor attends university in Ingolstadt in the late 18th century, so you can probably guess what historical society is working behind the scenes there. I also tried weaving the broader themes of cosmic horror into the Frankenstein narrative, which fit surprisingly well. If man is insignificant in the cosmos, is playing God inherently flawed? When does seeking out forbidden knowledge become madness?

If you're a cosmic horror enthusiast into world-ending cults and incomprehensible horrors, you'll enjoy the story! It's available wherever books are sold at: https://books2read.com/u/bxLzKl

Full Blurb:

>Reeling from the loss of his mother, seventeen-year-old Victor Frankenstein vows to conquer death before it claims anyone else he loves. When Victor attends Ingolstadt University and discovers a murdered professor’s research on reviving the dead, he’s certain salvation is within reach. There’s just one problem: the research is incomplete. What Victor revives is a mockery of life.

>Victor’s volatile schoolmate Joseph Curwen, who has his own alchemical methods of reanimation, might be the only person Victor can turn to if he wants to defeat death. Even if Curwen is one excuse away from making Victor his next experiment. Yet the two reanimators cannot afford to be enemies. Ingolstadt is rife with dangers that threaten to devour them both—and the rest of humanity.

>Their alliance is the only hope for survival, but they must survive each other first.

>Blending Frankenstein’s themes of unchecked obsession with Lovecraft's cosmic dread, The Shadow Beneath Ingolstadt is a dark tale of insanity, prejudice, and what makes a monster in a gripping dark academia narrative that’s perfect for new readers and longtime fans alike.

Today I Saw MinionsXCthulhu Green Mustard at the Grocery Store

What? Ngl, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing how wild the product placement with Cthulhu will get because man, that's a wild start. I wonder if it will be similar to Shrek where they made as many different products green as possible?
