Songs that are Calls to Adventure

Can you recommend any songs that are about the moment that forces you to change - leaving the familiar behind and entering the unknown?

I've been doing this event/gathering with a group of friends where we listen to music, eat food, have drinks, and discuss the deeper meanings behind the songs we are hearing. Each month is a different topic and the moderators for the event try to curate a playlist of songs that align with the theme. We want a wide varity of quality songs from different genres and sounds. That said, the upcoming series is on the Hero's Journey (we're merging the 12 stages down to 4 overall topics), and the 1st stage is a Call to Advenure.

That said, can you recommend any songs that are about the moment that forces you to change - leaving the familiar behind and entering the unknown? Any receommendation is much appreciated - our group loves all kinds of music and are a curious bunch.

Some songs we've already considered are:

  • Wesley's Theory by Kendrick Lemar
  • Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos
  • El Dorado Sunrise by CeeLo Green
  • I Will Overcome. by RAYE

Guys not asking follow up questions

The answer could very well be that he’s just not into you. I’m fine with accepting that but it’s confusing to me when I match with someone on a dating app, and the like is usually something meaningful. Maybe they responded to a picture with a comment or asked a question in the initial matching. But I found that over 70% of the guys I match with are happy to respond but do not give follow up questions.

“where was the best place you traveled?”
“what’s your family like?”
“where’d you grow up?”
“what’s your favorite movie that you’ve seen this year?”

They will answer, but won’t ask a simple, “you?” in response. So I just feel like I’m interrogating these guys.

Are my questions too boring? Are they just not into me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And if you are a guy, I would love to hear your perspective on this.

Is this too much panting?

My girl and I pretty regularly go on runs in the mornings, but this morning was the first time where she trailed behind me a little bit on the way home. We didn’t go any farther than we normally do and I would say our Pace was not as fast as other runs. But I don’t think I’ve heard her pant this quickly before when we return home, so I’m wondering if I should be concerned.

After about 6 mins it seems to have slowed down.

[N/A] Becoming PHR Certified - Would love to know what to expect from those wiser than me.

Hello! I'm, the Operations Director for a non-profit in the state of FL. We started small but since we are now becoming a state-certified org, we've recentl been expanding and updating our procedures and credibility as an organization. Because of that I'd like to become PHR certified.

I'm looking at the the PHR certification and am planning on taking the prep course and exam through the HRCI.org website. I've also heard that Pocket Prep's course is a helpful study tool so I think I will sign up for that as well.

Although I have a BS in Chemistry, I have worked in HR as the OD in my organization for 3+ years - bookkeeping, running payroll, writing & implementing policy, handling employee misconduct, onboarding new employees etc. That said, would anyone like to offer any study advice or let me know what I should expect throughout the process. How long should I expect to study/prep for the exam? What study tools have you found helpful?

Thanks for your insight and wisdom!
