Went from having no credit history to an 828 TransUnion score in 1.8 years. Is this actually decent?

I have 828 credit score but I'm still getting REJECTED for credit card applications 😂 The past 6 months, lahat ng tatlong applications ko ay declined HAHAHAHAHA

Sample 😆

https://www.reddit.com/r/PHCreditCards/s/6AgymJZMLZ

So I'm curious, is 828 actually considered a good/decent score in the Philippines?

Would love to hear from people with similar scores/situations.

Add: Anong meaning nung "segment"?? Hinalughog ko na buong internet and I cant find a public TransUnion table that maps those segment numbers to a particular meaning 😭

Declined by EW, never received a card, yet it appeared in my TU as an active account

I just pulled my Transunion credit report today and noticed something really weird with East West.

I previously applied for an East West credit card, but my application was declined.

The problem is, my Transunion report says otherwise. 😭 So according to TU, I apparently have an active EW account

Also, my TU report says I have 3 open accounts (samantalang dadalawa lang credit card ko) and ₱1,000,000 TOTAL credit limit lol

Yung isa kong cc is ₱258,000 lang ang CL, yung isa ₱350,000. So dapat ₱608k lang Total CL ko at hindi isang milyon

Is Metrobank's hotline always this impossible to reach? 😭

I'm honestly at my wits end. 😭 I've been trying to call Metrobank Credit Cards since this afternoon because I need to verify kung legit ba tong number na to 09985315086. Tumawag kasi sakin kanina yang mobile number na yan claiming to be from Metrobank regarding sa cc application kuno. Since lutang ako that time, nakapagbigay ako ng details ko. Ngayon medyo napaparanoid talaga ako

I already tried yung regular customer service hotline, yung premium hotline, even yung "lost/stolen card" option (I know it's not the right department, I was just desperate to speak to anyone 😭)

Nothing. Kaninang 6pm pa ako sumusubok. 😭

Is this really the normal experience with Metrobank?

For those who frequently call Metrobank cc, ganto ba talaga sila?

This is making me rethink my application. Parang gusto ko na umatras kung ganto lang din naman pala 😭 I know every bank has its pros and cons, but customer service is a big deal to me. If it's this difficult to reach them before I'm even a cardholder, I can't help but wonder what it'd be like if I actually needed urgent assistance.

BDO upgraded card already appears in the app, but I haven't received the physical card yet

My upgraded Diners Club Premiere card is already showing in the app as inactive, but I haven't received any delivery notifications

For those who experienced a card upgrade with BDO:

  1. Is it normal for the new card to appear in the app before it's delivered?

  2. Does "Inactive" simply mean the card has been created but is still in transit?

  3. How to check the delivery status and whether any delivery attempts have been made?

Anyone here owns BOTH Metrobank World Mastercard and Travel Visa Signature?

If yes:

  1. Were you approved for both at the same time or separately?

  2. Do they share the same credit limit?

  3. Were you able to get NAFFL on both, or only on one?

  4. If both are NAFFL, how did Metrobank grant it (promo, retention, invitation, etc.)?

UPDATE: I'm glad I listened. Thank you to everyone who commented and gave me advice

UPDATE ON MY CAROUSELL DILEMMA https://www.reddit.com/r/ScammersPH/s/BFoqSeKhx6

I ended up deciding not to push through with the transaction. I eventually uninstalled Carousell and just moved on.

Out of curiosity, I randomly checked Carousell again today... and to my surprise, the seller's account has already been suspended. Like diba, bakit ka masususpend kung wala kang ginagawang masama? Sa isip ko, while I cannot say for certain, medjo mataas ang chance na may nabiktima na siya kaya siya nasuspend... AT SALAMAT SA INYO HINDI AKO YON!!!! 😭🤣

I also hope Carousell Philippines eventually introduces better buyer and seller protection like Carousell sa ibang bansa. It would've made this transaction so much easier because neither the buyer nor the seller would have to blindly trust a stranger.

Salamat ulit sa inyo guys hahahaha

How do you avoid getting scammed on Carousell?

I'm planning to buy something on Carousell, but the seller is based in the province. What's the safest way ba to handle the transaction?

I understand why the seller would insist on payment first before shipping. From their perspective, they don't want to send the item only for the buyer to disappear without paying.

But on my end, I'm also hesitant to pay first. What if the item arrives damaged, isn't as described, or doesn't arrive at all? 😭

How do you usually handle situations like this? Are there any safe payment methods or couriers that protect both the buyer and the seller?

Would really appreciate any tips. Thanks!

Metrobank Visa Signature application declined despite good credit profile. Any idea why?

Hi everyone,

I recently applied for a Metrobank Visa Signature but unfortunately got declined. I'm trying to understand what could have affected the decision.

Here's my credit profile:

RCBC Hexagon Club – 2 years old, ₱258,000 credit limit

BDO Diners Club International – 1 year old, ₱350,000 credit limit

No late payments or missed payments

I always pay my statement balances in full, usually as soon as my SOA is generated

Never been over limit

Good overall credit standing

I thought I had a fairly decent profile, so I was quite surprised by the rejection.

For those who were approved for Metrobank Visa Signature, what do you think Metrobank looks for that other banks might weigh differently?

I'd appreciate any insights or similar experiences. Thanks!

EastWest declined my application even though I never finished it?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone who's familiar with EastWest's credit card application process can shed some light on this. 🙏

I applied for an EastWest credit card through ESTA and completed everything up to the employment details. But when I reached the selfie/liveness verification step, I decided not to proceed anymore because I realized the card wasn't really worth it for me.

The following days, EastWest emailed me saying my application was still pending and asked me to complete it by submitting the remaining requirements.

Then one day, I received a text message saying my application had been evaluated and declined like??

Naguguluhan ako. If my application was still pending and incomplete, bakit inevaluate?

My main concern is whether this means EastWest already performed a hard inquiry with TransUnion, CIBI, or another credit bureau despite me not completing the application.

I'm also wondering if this incomplete application would now count as a declined application if I decide to apply again in the future.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how EastWest processes incomplete ESTA applications?

Thanks in advance
