4 strikes - how cooked am I?

So I accumulated 3 strikes on my first day. Long story short, my account was approved in the middle of the night randomly (I created my slots a few days prior) and I woke up to 3 missed classes. I tried to appeal it because the email about my account now being active came in hours after the requests, but they didn't accept.

Unfortunately, this afternoon I missed a class. Completely my fault this time, I just messed up timings following another class. Literally so annoyed at myself for this.

I'm still new to the platform but I have been really enjoying it. My rating is currently 4.97 so I was doing okay (other than the mess-up this afternoon).

Am I cooked?

Lesson requests suddenly dropped

Hi all. I've been using ringle for a week and a half now. At first, every slot I opened was automatically booked and I was getting a lot of requests. Now my LMS slots are still unbooked. and none of my slots for next week have been booked either.

My reviews have been decent so far. Students that have rated have left 5*, and the rest are auto-reviews. Yet, my rating is 4.83? I'm not sure why it dropped; I did double check but there were no negative reviews.

I'm not sure what is going on - is this normal for new tutors?

How to rebook students? & a few questions about the platform.

Hi there. I started using Ringle a couple days ago and I am enjoying the site. I had a fantastic lesson with a student who left a lovely review expressing her thanks and that she would like to arrange a class again. She mentioned this at the end of the lesson, but it was my first day and I wasn't sure how to do this.

I see there is a private slot section but this pops up right at the end of the class, usually when I'm wrapping up and we're a bit busy. I would like to offer students to book another class, if they wish to do so (providing it is allowed).

I guess this ties up to my next question - how do you establish regulars? My first couple of classes were a bit shaky, but now I'm getting used to the platform and students are leaving lovely reviews. I would like to continue with them if possible.

Thank you!

Struggling with Hijab in rural UK

Salam alaikum everyone. I'm a revert of 2 years and a bit but I have been living abroad for most of this duration. I've just come home and I am REALLY struggling with modesty. I started wearing hijab last October outside of work (was not allowed to wear it in work when I was living abroad).

I've moved back to the UK to study but I'm living at home until my course starts in September. Alhamdulillah, my family are very accepting and have no objections to religion. However, we really live in a far corner of the UK where there are no (visible) muslims. I was wearing a silk scarf tied behind the neck the first few days but i'm struggling to even do this.

I underestimated how difficult it would be. When I started wearing hijab abroad, I took it in baby steps and wore on days I attended Jummah, or was hanging out with other sisters. Most of my friends were hijabis and there was a huge muslim community in the city I lived in. I became comfortable wearing it, but now i'm in a completely different environment.

I forgot how even dressing modestly attracts stares. Ig because it's so hot right now, everyone is in tank tops and shorts. I'm wearing flowy trousers and blouses and people are asking me why i'm covering so much...Maybe i'm focused on others' opinions too much but gradually i've been letting more and more hair show which i'm not happy about.

It also doesn't help seeing Reform posters on people's windows 😅

I'm so scared that i'm back at square 0 and I won't be able to wear it when I start university in september. I'm moving to London, which is of course far more diverse and easier to practice. But until then i'm in my tiny hometown and have a lot of fears about being seen as a hijabi.

More of a vent than anything but I don't know where else to voice this

Gabapentin before international flight (cat)

Hello, I am looking for some advice regarding flying and Gabapentin use. My cat is flying in the cabin with me from the south of China to France via Turkey. The first leg is 11 hours, 5 hour overlay in Istanbul, then 3 hours to Paris. I will give her Gabapentin to help with the anxiety of the trip.

I have some questions regarding food and Gabapentin. She's taken it several times before for vet visits and such and has responded well. I gave her 100mg last time and she wasn't 'droopy' but definitely more relaxed.

Our flight is at 11pm. Normally I feed her half a can of wet food at around 7-8am, and the other half at 5-6pm. I'm assuming I shouldn't give her breakfast and just break her fast with a little bit of food, enough to eat the Gabapentin? Will this make her feel sick?

I'm taking a can of wet food and a portable food bowl plus extra tablets. Should I feed her again with the medication during the layover or will she be unlikely to eat it?

Any advice is much appreciated!
