Hi guys, looking to get back into 40k and the current rules don't tickle my pickle. Thinking of convincing a few buddies to try out ProHammer, so I have plenty of choices for codices, I only recently found out about it but I believe you can use any codex from 3rd to 7th edition?

I want to build a Renegades & Heretics army but I'd happily use Guard rules and run them as traitors if the options are more interesting.

Anyone have any recommendations for codices that offer lost of thematic options? Doesn't need to be powerful, just fun. I'm open to all suggestions.

I planning on starting a Possessed warband because I feel like it offers a huge amount of conversion potential.

One thing I'm curious about is how many models people are usually starting with? Is 7 or 8 an acceptable amount for this warband? These guys are expensive even when I'm really trying to keep them cheap.

I feel like possessed are probably okay to take without any mutations due to their solid stats, even then, they're still pricey.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, I'm not trying to min max here just don't want to get stomped by round 2 every game lol
