Aggressive Advertising

I'm sure they don't look in here, but in the event that someone does, I would just like to add a note.

Dearest Micro Center,

Making me to use 2FA when accessing my account is ok. I won't complain about reasonable security methods and I am glad you are protecting my account and my data.

HOWEVER

Forcing me to use a txt code, and then immediately spamming that number with 3 promotional txts within an hour of authenticating for 2FA is utter bullshit.

I "stopped" your txt ads forever ago because I don't need daily reminders about sales, and for you to use a 2FA prompt to override my contact preferences is bullshit and it makes me not want to do business with you.

Stop that shit. It makes you look really bad.

Viofo Dashcam parking or sentry mode question.

Greetings!

I have a Viofo A229+ and I am curious about something.

At the moment I am using good ole direct power from accessory port in my glove box.

I am looking to start using sentry mode as there have been issues locally, and I bought the hardwire kit from Viofo when I purchased my camera, but I have concerns about draw and battery life when it comes to direct wiring.

I was considering purchasing a purpose-built standby battery, but I see that Viofo wants more than the cost of the dashcam for a BP 100 battery (!?!).

I happen to have half a dozen good Anker 24000mAh power banks sitting around... Is there a reason using one of those would not work? I know they charge slowly, but I make weekly 5-hour drives, so I really don't think keeping the power bank charged would be a problem.

So, options. 1) Don't do it at all. 2) Hardwire using Viofo kit and just accept that one day it might kill the battery, (and potentially void the warranty if anything fails in my electrical system) or 3) Go with the janky-ass Anker battery pack idea.

Suggestions? Thought? Vicious Mockery?

Leave it, Clean it, or Restore it?

Greetings folks. First time poster here.

My dad has passed along to me his 1957 Model 24.

Its in what I would consider pretty good shape, but could use some love. It is operational, last fired about 5 years ago.

I'm not looking to sell, but I also don't want to wreck the value. So, what do y'all think? Professional cleaning, full restoration (does anyone know what that even costs? I have no clue), or just a standard home cleaning and leave her be?
