Monitor recommendations for first time
I have a 2020 MacBook Pro M1. I've been wanting to get a monitor for a long time, so I've decided to get 1 monitor and use my Mac as a clamshell/ 2nd display. I only have 2 usbc ports, and was thinking of getting a dongle, plugging an HDMI cable from the dongle to the monitor.
Some questions I have before buying:
- I've been looking at this Dell monitor, 24in 240Hz 1080p. Will this screen be better than my MacBook screen? (I want something better or at least the same as my mac screen)
- I've been looking at these 2 anker dongles. Anker dongle 1 Anker dongle 2. The only difference I saw that mattered to me is that one of the HDMI supports 4k 30hz, whereas the other is 4K 60 Hz.
- If I leave my MacBook closed with the monitor plugged in, does the system know and show everything on the monitor? After using my Mac, does the Apple logo on the top left, then sleep, mean the same if I were to close the lid without a monitor?
I'm on a budget, and this is the best solution and items I could find that fit my needs. It's my first time, and any help would be much appreciated!
