How do you start a business with no money?

I'm a 20-year-old college student studying applied mathematics. I'm back at home for the summer break, and am looking into ways where I can expand my understanding of businesses. I am on a merit-based scholarship, so I've never had to take out a loan. I have a great credit score, and I also get a scholarship refund. However, I have no stable, full-time job since I have been relying on internships and temporary positions. So, apologies for the stupid question, but how does one truly start a business without money? If I were to start one now, wouldn't you need to have a stable, full-time job for at least a few years to be able to pull a low-interest-rate loan? Are loans the only solution? Or do you have to find investors? Where would you even find them?

I know it varies by businesses, but I am curious about the logistics of opening a mini market, gas station, or laundromat. How would inventory work?

Summer breaks feel so depressing.

I can’t find a job and I can’t find a summer class in session. I’ve applied to over 20 positions these past two weeks, carefully refining my resume and cover letters, and all I’ve been getting are rejections.

I go to college in the east coast. I’m from the west. Coming back home from college, I deal with arguments with my family and the lack of opportunities in my state. I’ve been struggling to find anything to busy myself this summer since I had a career change very recently (switched from medicine to math and finance). The boredom is consuming me. I cannot doom scroll and rot in bed this summer.

In terms of my social life, my college friends are scattered, and my high school friends are living their adult lives. They’ve stayed in the same state their whole lives, so they have long term, stable, full-time jobs. They have a vehicle that can get them around too. In my state, public transportation is not accessible, so you really have to have a vehicle to get to places. I, however, was in an awful car accident last year and haven’t driven since. My name is not on the car insurance and I don’t have a car to drive. I’d love to get a vehicle and start driving again, but considering how short the summer is, it would be (somewhat) financially irresponsible to buy a car to use for 2 months, considering that I have to save the funds for my flight tickets to go back to college.

I tried finding a summer class to do, but it takes forever for my school to approve the syllabus. It also sucks that local colleges around me follow a trimester schedule instead of a semester schedule.

I’m 20 and I feel like a coach potato. Time feels slow and fast at the same time. My college friends are so academic (my school is ranked 3rd in the U.S.) and my high school friends are so far in their adult lives. I am not as academic as my college friends, and I don’t have as much freedom as my high school friends. I feel behind in life and I’m not sure what to do. I volunteer to kill the time and learn how to code, but my thoughts are still consuming me. If there are any opportunities that you could referral me to or any activities/projects you could introduce to me, please do. My time here feels extremely depressing.

Does the $400 bonus come in instantly?

Just got a $5500 direct deposit from my workplace. I think the funds are still pending, but nevertheless, when does the bonus come in? (The $400 bonus for opening an account)

$400 bonus checking account expired yesterday

I didn't realize one of the promo codes expired (5/19/26). Are there any other promo codes for 400 dollars? I should've opened an account and just let it sit there until my direct deposit came in.

$400 bonus w 5k direct deposit ended?

I opened a sofi account last week. I have an incoming direct deposit of 5k coming in 2 weeks. I checked the app recently to find out that it’s now “up to $300 bonus.” Did the $400 bonus just end? The website says the same thing too.

Current college student studying applied math and finance. Kinda hard trying to find a consistent job. I’ve been relying on my scholarships and internships to get to where I am today. Any advice would be appreciated!

I fucking hate this class and everything about it. You're telling me I can get an A/B+ in multivariable calculus and organic chemistry at this rank 3rd fucking college with a huge fucking grade deflation BUT NONE OF MY EXAMS IN BIOCHEMISTRY HAVE BEEN ABOVE A 60??? CLASS AVERAGES ARE A D. WHY? WHY MUST IT BE THIS HARD? I'M ON THE BRINK OF FAILING THIS CLASS AND I PUT SO MUCH EFFORT INTO MY STUDIES. I've changed my study habits, tried out different approaches, and even got a tutor.

Fuck and 80% of the whole grade is based on exams. No homework graded. 20% lab.

This professor provides no notes in class too. No chalkboard, no powerpoint presentation, he just enters the room, sits and talk. What the fuck?

The practice problem sets are a joke and are not representative of the exams at all. My final for this class is coming up in 6 days and I might just give up because I'm gonna get the same score anyways. Would rather get As in my math classes instead. Fuck this professor and fuck everything in the chemistry department
