Would an opal ring be a bad idea for an engagement ring if she loves crystals?

My girlfriend is deep into crystals and opals are her #1 favourite by far

She loves the magical flash and energy they have. So I was thinking of surprising her with an opal ring instead of a plain diamond for our future engagement...

But after reading a bunch of comments here and elsewhere im getting worried. People say you really want something 7.5+ on the Mohs scale for daily wear. Opal is only around 5.5-6 so it seems too soft. They mention it can crack from temperature changes or just normal life stuff like grabbing stuff from the freezer.

Ive been looking online and on Opal Auctions and some look so beautiful for way less money, but now im paranoid it might not hold up long term as an everyday ring.

Has anyone here worn opal rings long term? Or should I look at harder alternatives that still have nice colors like tourmaline, spinel or colorful sapphires? I want it to feel special for her but also actually last yk

Dont wanna mess this up

What's something you own that is completely useless but you'd never get rid of?

Not sentimental in an obvious way. Just a random object that has somehow become non-negotiable in your life for reasons you can't fully explain

Looking for Kpop songs where a member wrote the lyrics for another member

I recently found out that a member wrote a song specifically for another member of his group as a gift or to express something personal to her. Not a solo track or a fan song, but words from one member directly aimed at another member. Things like an apology, a thank you, or just acknowledging their bond. Can be from any generation. Would love to hear which songs exist and the story behind them. Bonus if the receiving member has talked about how she felt when she first heard his lyrics.

Typical PT book during clinical rotations?

I'm about to start my first clinical rotation (outpatient ortho) and feeling pretty anxious about looking stuff up on the fly. Has anyone used the Typical PT essentials book as a reference during clinicals? I know its marketed for NPTE prep but a classmate told me the special tests section and the differential diagnosis tables are super useful for clinical. Curious what other people's experience was.

sometimes the summary sounds boring or just not like your thing but the actual book turns out completely different once you give it a chance

what book changed your mind like that and what made it work?
