Temporary cover for a family visitor from Australia.

I'm running out of options to find temporary cover for my brother who is visiting from Australia.

Although he still holds a UK passport his driving licence is Australian and, to complicate things, he's 72 years old.

I have tried my own insurer, Liverpool Victoria plus the likes of Dayinsure, GoShorty etc without luck.

Do you have any suggestions please?

A229 Plus delayed start. One possible solution.

My A229 Plus would frequently announce 'Recording two channels started' twenty minutes or so after I'd started driving. This was an obvious concern as there might be no recording in case of an accident prior to the announcement.

I was planning to return the unit but started to wonder if the SD card might be the cause. I use the recommended Sandisk 128GB Max Endurance card and reformatted it every thirty days.

Reducing the reformat interval to fourteen days seems to have resolved the problem. I can't understand why, as the card is able to be overwritten, but I'm pleased it seems to work so thought I'd pass it on.

Thinking of switching from Zen.

Update, OP here. Thanks for all the input. As stable broadband is essential I'm sticking with Zen for the moment at old out of contract price. I did try negotiating a better deal but all they would offer was New member prices but on a new contract.

Zen are £36/month for a 500Mbps service while Toob are offering £22/month for £1Gbps contract. Toib's contract isn't 24 months.

I'm out of contract with Zen so switching should be straightforward but I read conflicting reports of Toob's reliability and support.

Saving £14/month would be really useful but reliable broadband is important for my work.

What would your experience tell me? Should I go ahead?

Thanks.

Wetherspoons guest beers.

Now I appreciate that this is a bit of a niche question but I've noticed that The Justice Mill and Archie's are coordinating their guest cask ale offering. Almost without exception, the same beers are on in both pubs. Today it's Fierce Noir and Scottish Export plus Wobbly Bob.

In the great scheme of things it's no big deal but I do like a good selection of beers and this is limiting choice. I wonder why Spoons would do it - it's clearly not coincidence. I've only noticed this in the last couple of months.

Feeding garden birds.

I've just read the revised RSPB guidelines about stopping seed feeding from May to October. I'll comply immediately but am a bit concerned about abruptly stopping a food source when young are being fed. Should I be worried?

This worked for me.

Firefox Settings<Data Collection<Allow Feature Studies<Off. Restart phone.

Credit to u/tpennello for showing me this. Good luck!
