Bode's final, reckless actions contradict his primary goal.

Bode's final, reckless actions contradict his primary goal.

That goal being to keep his daughter, Kata, safe.

Bode refuses Cal's reasonable offer point-blank and attacks.

Yes, it sucked for Bode that his plan didn't work, but Bode had seen first-hand how capable Cal and Merrin were as fighters. To attack them both and risk dying was the worst decision he could possibly have made for his daughter's welfare. Kata isn't going to be safe (from Bode's perspective) if she doesn't have a father. Any alternative is presumably preferable.

Bode also didn't question how Cal and Merrin reached Tanalorr without the compass. Just the fact that they were able to follow him potentially ruins his plans. He doesn't know at that point that others can't follow him, too. He should logically want (nay, need) an answer to how they did it before trying to destroy them.

So how (if at all) would you justify Bode making the rash, self-defeating decisions that he did?

How many Death Eaters (Harry Potter) can Obi-Wan Kenobi defeat (if any) before he's overwhelmed?

These are all standard, faceless Death Eaters, and this is prime, Revenge of the Sith Obi-Wan.

They materialise around Obi-Wan on one of the large Kaminoan landing platforms from Attack of the Clones. It's raining heavily -- for atmosphere.

First Obi-Wan fights a single Death Eater. If he wins, he progresses to the next round and fights 2 Death Eaters, and so on, until he can no longer succeed.

Did Dagan fall to the Dark Side too quickly?

I recently had a discussion about the binary nature of the Force.

Some people argued that the Light and Dark sides lead to simplistic storytelling, wherein heroes are purely good and villains are just corrupt monsters without much nuance.

I don't think that's true (I think nuance can, and does, exist between the two extremes) ...

However -- it did make me think of Dagan, whom I realised fell to the Dark Side quite abruptly, bleeding his crystal the moment he awakened, before even giving Cal a chance or absorbing his drastically altered surroundings.

So my question is: Would it have been more interesting if Dagan had remained morally grey, at least a little longer, before deciding red was his new favourite colour?

What if Anakin had just blocked Mace's attack in this scene instead of cutting off his arm?

What would have happened differently?

Because let's be honest: Palpatine didn't know that Anakin was going to take such drastic action. Anakin could easily have tried to stop Mace without severely wounding him.

If all of the occupants of Pyloon's Saloon ran for town mayor, who would you vote for?

Let's say Doma has an emergency and has to leave the planet, so she's not an option.

Greez is also excluded, because he's needed to pilot the Mantis for Cal.

Everyone else in the bar and town runs for the job, and you have to vote on a winner.

Who do you pick? Who can keep the place from falling to pieces while you're gone?

My cosmetic issue with the blaster stance.

The blaster fires blue bolts normally, and red bolts when you charge up a shot.

In lore, that's not how blasters work. The colour of the bolt depends on the type or quality of the gas the gun is using to generate plasma. Blasters should fire one colour.

Interestingly, this is how the guns of purge troopers work in the game. A ranged purge trooper fires red bolts, and when he charges up a power shot, it's also red -- which is correct.

So my suggestion for the next game is that the blaster stance fixes this error.

And a fun addition would be giving us the option to customise the colour of our blaster bolts the same way we can customise our lightsaber colour. We could acquire different kinds of gas in chests!

Anakin (Revenge of the Sith) vs. Dooku and Dagan Gera (Jedi Survivor)

The reason I made this match-up is because I just learned some interesting lore about Dooku.

Apparently, he thought Anakin was weak and pathetic for getting a robotic arm after Dooku cut it off. He thinks Anakin should have taken the loss like a man and learned to fight one-handed instead of turning himself into a cyborg.

Based on this, Dooku would have greatly respected Dagan, who did fight one-handed, using only the Force to compensate for his missing limb.

I went through most of the game missing out on resources because I'm too kind.

It's just not in my Jedi nature to kill innocent little droids that run away. I thought they were cute and left them alone.

Only later when I discovered the Scavenger Bots' bio page did I realise that you're supposed to attack them because they carry shiny stuff to spend at shops.

Did anyone else make this kind of error?

Sol (The Acolyte) vs. Obi-Wan (Revenge of the Sith) in melee combat, no lightsabers

This relates to another thread I recently made asking whether we should acknowledge the seemingly superior martial arts skills of Acolyte and other High Republic characters.

Both fighters can use their hands, feet and the Force, but not their lightsabers, which have both conveniently gone missing.

The fight takes place in the queen's throne room on Naboo.

Victory by KO or incapacitation.

Should we ignore or acknowledge the melee skills of Acyolyte characters when power scaling?

Being perfectly objective, we can all see that characters like Master Sol and Indara are martial-arts masters in a way that characters like Obi-Wan and Anakin are not, yet it's common for fans to completely overlook this imbalance during power scaling.

My question is: should we?

Should we dimiss their kung-fu abilities as an artistic style choice, or should we acknowledge that they're actually better fighters than current-era Jedi?

If Jedi Revan had joined the Clone Wars, would it have ruined Palpatine's plans?

Let's imagine, at the height of his powers as a Jedi Knight, Revan is transported via the World Between Worlds to the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones.

He survives the battle, impressing the Council with his skill and strategy, and -- unable to return home -- he joins the current Order in its burgeoning battle with the Separatists.

Does Revan's presence ultimately ruin or alter Palpatine's schemes in any way?

Batman (Arkham Knight) vs. Cal Kestis (Jedi Survivor)

During the events of Arkham Knight, Bruce learns that a mysterious, magical warrior named Cal Kestis is in his city, killing criminals with abandon. He decides to stop Cal and bring him in.

How does that go?

What, if any, should be the limits of the Force?

At one end of the Force-power spectrum, we have the original George Lucas movies, which set a precedent for how powerful the Force is. We see masters like Yoda lifting heavy objects like stone pillars, and throwing around steel platforms from the Senate Chamber.

At the other end of the scale we have EU characters like Starkiller, who can bring down Star Destroyers, and Darth Nihilus, who can eradicate all life on a planet in seconds.

So my question is: If you were in charge of Star Wars -- if you were suddenly the head creative at Lucasfilm -- how high (or low) would you allow Force power to scale?

Captain America (MCU) vs. a Droideka (Star Wars)

The fight takes place on the Trade Federation ship from Phantom Menance.

Cap is about to head to the escape pods when a Droideka rolls up at the end of the wide corridor, blocks his path and starts blasting.

Bonus Round: If you think Cap wins, how many Droideka can he defeat simultaneously before he loses?

They fight ten times, respawning after each kill.

Who's your favourite side character in the game, and why is it Turgle?

And to make this question more interesting, let's say the character you choose will definitely appear in Jedi 3, but anyone you don't pick won't appear.

How would you feel if Taron Malicos survived and returned in the next game?

A common trope in fiction is that if you don't see a body, the character didn't necessarily die.

Merrin buried Malicos alive in stone -- but then she left with Cal immediately after. So it's conceivable that Taron shielded himself with the Force and eventually broke free. I'm sure that the writers could justify it if they wanted to.

Now -- I'm actually not the biggest fan of bringing characters back from the dead. I think it happens too much in Star Wars as it is. But at the same time I find Malicos's dark path (his study of the Nightsisters and Zeffonians) extremely compelling, and his actor, Liam McIntyre, did a phenomenal job.

There's potentially more to explore.

What are your thoughts and ideas?
