Getting into Dragon Quest so I don't feel like a poser. Where to begin?

I recently wanted to upgrade to a New 2DS/3DS XL from my base 2DS, and the option I was greeted with wasn't what I was expecting- I saw a listing for the Japanese Dragon Quest New 2DS LL, with the slime on the top of it. It was a good deal, and I thought it looked silly, so I picked it up.

Problem is, I've never played a Dragon Quest or Dragon Warrior game in my life.

So, I feel like a poser for having this cool piece. I'm going to start now! I wanted your opinions on the games I've picked up so far:

  • Dragon Warrior III on the Game Boy Color is currently being shipped to me, this was my planned place to start.
  • I got Dragon Quest IV on the DS when I traded a bunch of broken controllers to GameStop. Pretty sure this is a remake.
  • I snagged Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 last weekend.
  • I got DQ11 on PS4 as well as the first DQ Heroes game and the first Builders game.

So! If you're bored and hanging out reading my post, do you think these are good picks? I've seen this franchise has a ton of spinoffs, I think Monsters is one that was recommended to me too. Are there other games in the series that you think would be good for a noob to experience?

[Hiring] $30+ Fairy Tail Anime Scenes

EDIT: I do mean Fairy TAIL like the anime, not like fairy tales. Just go be clear 😅

I'm looking to get probably 10-20 different illustrations done, hoping to land somewhere around the ~$30 range for them. I know what I'm asking for is probably worth closer to ~50 normally but, I'm hoping that the sheer amount of them (I'd probably buy them in bundles of 2 or 3 depending on how fast you crank em out) makes up for my lack of overall funds. I'm not too picky on turnaround time but ideally I'd like it to take less than like, three weeks per illustration. These are going to be put onto a Wattpad story, if that makes you uncomfortable then please don't take this comm since that's the direct purpose of my request. I can provide examples of scenes upon request, mostly just single characters with specific clothes/poses and maybe a simple background (some trees or like, the sky)

I am NOT interested in any AI generated images. I am also most comfortable paying 50% up front, 50% after product is accepted. If things go well after one, we can start doing multiples, but I'm not promising to pay for 10-20 pieces until after at least one goes well.

I will not be responding to DMs on here due to previously getting a lot of spam and fake accounts, please comment with your favorite pizza topping to get a response. Portfolio link is fine too lol

Loved 2003 series as a kid, revisiting now but I have a question.

Used to watch the first like, I wanna say 4 episodes via a singular VHS tape I had. I'm watching through the show now as an adult, but I noticed that somewhere around season 6 the art style completely shifts. I don't like how it looks, but I'll watch it if there's still substance to be found. Without spoiling it, if I really enjoy this iteration for the darker tone and action/suspense forward pacing, should I bother buying those last couple seasons? Or are they still worth a watch despite the art change? I know this is an opinion piece, only I can truly decide that, but since I try to buy most of my media on physical, it could save me some money and time from hunting it down.

Looking for a decent Mystery Dungeon mobile game.

I'm hoping for maybe a Mystery Dungeon/Roguelite experience or a turn based RPG but ones that I can save at any time or that autosave so I can easily pick it up and put it down without having to worry about suddenly taking a call or something that might mean the app gets closed.

Also, not hoping for a ton of reading? I don't mind a good story but like I said, picking it up and putting it down is the goal, so I don't want to spend 5 minutes reading dialogue or watching cutscenes if I'm only going to be playing for like 15, y'know? Anything like that on Android? I don't care if it's a paid game, if anything I'd rather a paid game than a pay-to-win or an ad-infested title.

New Owner here. Any tips?

Hey, just picked up a Wii U on Facebook for $100. I've just ordered six games

(Smash, Hyrule Warriors, 3D World, Pokken Tourney, Mario Kart, and Bayonetta)

But, I'm curious if there are digital only games that I'm missing out on that I should get CFW? I also was curious if there's any point in getting any other accessories outside of the pro controller to make the experience better.

Good performance open world games

Friend of mine got a Switch Lite and is looking for some nice open world or at least exploration games that run well. I'm hoping to find some recs that aren't Breath of the Wild and I'd love to get recs of games that exist on cartridges. Thanks in advance.

Should I update my OG Xbox 360?

So I have an old 360, like, real old. Doesn't even have HDMI old. It has so far been working surprisingly well, I've been stress testing it as best I can, I left it running Borderlands 2 for a while and even after 6+ hours it didn't power off or anything. Being limited to 480p might be helping it out in that area. In any case, I was wondering if I should connect it to the internet at all, or just leave it be. I'm not sure if cooling/performance was ever modified/optimized, but it looks like this thing has definitely not been updated since maybe '07, I can give an exact version number if it helps. Basically I don't want to update it when it's working only to find that it'll murder the poor thing.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I just couldn't really find a way to find out this specific thing; I'm looking for fun JP region games that don't require me to actually understand Japanese. Puzzle games, platformers, racing games, that sort of thing. I could look up all the different games in existence but, I'd like to hear from the actual community on what JP region games are worth my time and won't have me struggling. Bonus points if I can actually get my hands on a copy without spending a fortune.
