Costa Palma is finally getting a map update and I want your help deciding what goes on it.
Until today, Costa Palma was technically infinite. It was a simple street grid that just kept being street grid in every direction. Tipsey could roll off the edge of the known world.
Now the city sits in a corner of the coast. The Pacific runs along the west and south. Sunset Shore down the west side and Driftwood Beach along the south. On the other two sides the ground rises into the foothills. Sierra Palma range across the north, and the Mirador Hills running down the east side all the way to the waterline.
Parks now merge into real parks not just simple squares.
All of this is on an experimental branch right now, not in the daily route yet. I
What I want from you
As the map goes from “generated” to “a place,” and I’d rather build the fun parts with the community.
There are now beaches. What actually lives on Sunset Shore and Driftwood Beach? Boardwalk? Pier has been suggested so that will come in eventually? Lifeguard towers? Should Tipsey ever have to deliver on the sand . and should sand be slow, slippery, or a tip-over hazard?
And we have foot hills. Right now the Sierra Palma is scenery. Switchback delivery routes? A scenic overlook address that pays a huge tip but costs you the climb? I hope to eventually have a second slalom side mission down from a hill top and into town.
I’m thinking about Coastal hazards. Seagulls after your cargo to replace the pigeons in town.
Big parks as gameplay. Should there be park-only hazards like sprinklers, food carts? I need a first side park mission…
The beach, ocean, and mountain names are all placeholders. If the community has better ones, I’ll take them. Same for landmarks what’s the one place in Costa Palma everyone should know?
Districts. With water on two sides and mountains on the others, where do the fancy houses go? Where’s the rough part of town?
Drop anything small flavor ideas and big systems ideas are both welcome. If a suggestion makes it in, I’ll credit you in the changelog.
Slalom side mission in the works.
Working on the slalom course but im hung up with my github workflow being broken at the moment, so thats all I got for today. Any suggestions on course improvements are welcome.

Phaser 3 engine running as a live self-playing demo inside the Reddit feed (Devvit). Full write-up + a Claude skill to one-shot it
Tipsey (r/tipsey) now runs its engine as an attract demo right in the post card it’s not a video or a screenshot. The game playing itself behind the Start button. Works in the feed, on web, and in the native Reddit app.
Getting there took six failures that were all completely silent, including two platform behaviors that aren’t really documented anywhere.
1.Devvit’s webview CSP refuses all inline <script> blocks — no error on device, your code just never runs
2. The native Reddit app swallows window.postMessage entirely. works on web reddit, dead in the app, no error
Full write-up with the architecture, all six failures in order, the CSP-faithful test server, the self-hiding diagnostic strip that cracked the last one.

If you use Claude, there’s a downloadable SKILL.md at the bottom of the page that packages the whole workflow.

Teaching Tipsey some new tricks
Im building out the first mini game for tipsey today. In this one you jump over fire hydrants to unlock a new fire truck skin.
Red Carpet Treatment
Just got some great feedback from my nephew while he was playing r/Tipsey. He told me the red carpet delivery door pretty easy to miss, and it was frustrating when the robot just tipped over seemingly out of nowhere.
He suggested something I actually love instead of an auto-tip penalty for missing the door, what if the robot got routed around the block and came back for another attempt? Keeps the challenge but gives you another shot instead of a starting over.
Thinking about adding this as a difficulty mode. Currrently the test has no obstacles but i could see layering it so that on Hard it’s almost impossible to make it around the block. Has anyone else had this experience? Post using the “feature request” flair to have it pinned.
Tipsy Weekend Patch: We Made Delivery Feel Better
Hey r/tipsey! Just pushed some changes to make Tipsy feel snappier and more rewarding to drive.
Bot acceleration, braking, and top speed all got about a 50% boost. You'll feel the difference immediately when dodging obstacles or sprinting to make pickups.
We raised the damage thresholds significantly. This means you've gotta actually *crash* at real speed to get hurt, instead of clipping a mailbox and losing half your cargo. Rewards aggressive play.
Fine-tuned how cargo tilts based on acceleration and cornering. Feels more stable and predictable when you're threading tight streets.
The robot felt sluggish compared to the hazards around it. Now you're actually in control faster reactions, clearer feedback when you mess up.
and let us know what you think. Still tweaking. Thanks for playing.
