Which 2027 eligible prospect are you looking forward to seeing in week 1!?

Jeremiah Smith (WR) & Julian Sayin (QB) vs Ball State

Smith has averaged 5 receptions for 99 yards and almost a touchdown per game in 6 career non-conference games.

In his last two non-conference games against Grambling and Ohio, Sayin threw for over 300 yards in both games. 

Arch Manning (QB) & Cam Coleman (WR) vs Texas State

Texas will be at home for this game, but Manning was a bit inconsistent in home games and non-conference games last season.

We want to see Coleman show better route-running and be more physical, rather than just trying to blow past everyone.

Dante Moore (QB) vs Boise State

Moore has a very good receiving group around him, so I’d expect him to get off to a strong start.

Kewan Lacy (RB) vs Louisville

We need to see him be more patient as a runner, especially against a tougher defense like Louisville.

Nick Marsh (WR) vs North Texas

Marsh will have to find ways to get open and make the most of his opportunities, as there is plenty of competition for targets in Indiana’s offense.

Jadan Baugh(RB) vs Florida Atlantic

Baugh has a solid veteran offensive line to run behind as he looks to build off his 1,100-yard season last year.

LaNorris Sellers (QB) vs Kent State

His mobility will be key to his success and should allow him to make plays when things break down. Sellers has plenty of upside, but he could be the one player who falls out of this top 10 if he doesn’t show improvement in Week 1.

Ryan Coleman-Williams (WR) vs East Carolina

Alabama will need to get Coleman-Williams in space and allow him to work after the catch, as he had 331 yards after the catch in 2025.

Another NFL offseason means another round of coaching changes, and this year 15 new defensive coordinators are heading into 2026.

Here are some potential draft prospects to know based on the top 10 teams heading into the 2026 college football season.

Jeremiah Smith (WR): The consensus 1.01 in 2027 dynasty drafts regardless of format. A physical, boundary threat with elite size-speed metrics.

Julian Sayin (QB): Experienced pocket passer with a fast release and elite processing.

CJ Carr (QB): CJ Carr is a smart, technical passer who took over the starting job with his deep-ball accuracy.

Aneyas Williams (RB): Next man up after Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price. Versatile back complete with your typical Notre Dame pass-blocking skills (read: very good) and receiving skills.

Josh Hoover (QB): The next Fernando Mendoza? An experienced quarterback with 31 starts under his belt, there will be a lot of eyeballs on Hoover and the Hoosiers when the season begins.

Charlie Becker (WR): Another difficult and polarizing evaluation. Some see Becker as a high-volume field stretcher while others point to his poor recruiting profile. 

Nick Marsh (WR): Marsh is a physical target with great hands who dominates in 50/50 contested catch situations.

Mark Fletcher Jr. (RB): 225-pound workhorse leader who put Miami on his back in the 2025 College Football Playoffs

Mario Craver (WR): Dynamic slot receiver and deep threat who creates separation against man coverage.

Isaiah Sategna (WR): Speedster commanding deep targets and open-field touches who surprised many by returning to school for his senior season.

Mike McDaniel - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Quentin Johnston (+)

Johnston will look to fill the vertical role in McDaniel’s wide receiver group, which could result in a ton of “boom” games.

Drew Petzing - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Jameson Williams (-)

The concerns I have for this offense are mostly surrounding Williams’ role, as he looks to be the odd man out here. Needing to fight with LaPorta for the third target in the offense, Williams’ role running deep crosses and vertical routes might not be in the cards as much.

Eric Bieniemy - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Kenneth Walker III (+)

With Patrick Mahomes likely not 100 percent for Week 1, don’t be surprised if KWIII is tasked with leading the offense to open the year, something that Bieniemy—who was Chicago’s running back coach last year—will have a major hand in.

Sean Mannion - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Saquon Barkley (+)

Incorporating more under-center plays will not only make play-action passes more effective but also open up the run game even more. The bread and butter of the Eagles offense relies on the running game, and getting Barkley back to form will help make it more two-dimensional.

Zac Robinson - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Emeka Egbuka (++)

If Egbuka is moved around the formation and funneled the type of target share that London was, then Egbuka is in line to be a league winner in 2026.

David Blough - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Jayden Daniels (+)

Rounding out this group will help Jayden Daniels get back to his pre-injury self, but elements of the new scheme, including a greater focus on play action and setting Daniels up more under center, will do a lot for the third-year quarterback as well.

Which Back up Running Backs should you be trading for before the 2026 season!?

TreVeyon Henderson - is one of the highest-upside backup running backs in dynasty, with the talent to become an RB1 if he earns a larger role or Rhamondre Stevenson misses time.

Isiah Pacheco - Is a strong dynasty buy-low whose value could spike into RB2 territory if Jahmyr Gibbs misses time, though his standalone production will likely be limited in Detroit's committee backfield.

Blake Corum - is one of dynasty’s top backup running backs, offering standalone touchdown upside and league-winning RB1 potential if Kyren Williams misses time.

Kyle Monangai - is a high-upside dynasty handcuff who has already shown he can produce with volume and could earn a larger role—or even RB2 value—if D'Andre Swift misses time.

While it will be a trying season for the Dolphins, they absolutely still have pieces that can help your 2026 dynasty rosters out. .

With Miami being the first NFL head-coaching role for Hafley, there are a lot of question marks that will need to be answered. Having come over from the Green Bay Packers, Hafley was a part of one of the best-run organizations in the league.

Slowik’s tenure calling plays for the Houston Texans was very inconsistent, as their offense had very high highs and very low lows.

Shanahanian concepts are mixed into Slowik’s offensive playbook, as he marries passing concepts from Shanahan’s scheme (mesh, hi-low crossing patterns, calculated deep shots off of play-action) with a hybrid run scheme.

The run game will likely incorporate a mix between zone and downhill plays (depending on personnel, situation, etc.), and these multiple looks/formations will allow for more of a natural play-action scheme built on the running game

Biggest 2026 Takeaways

• Malik Willis is going to vulture a lot more rushing work than Achane rosters are going to be happy with, but that dual-threat ability gives Willis a weekly starting upside.
• Not mentioned much here is the involvement of TE Greg Dulcich, who has a great chance to be Willis’s safety valve and second-favorite target, all while not having any real competition.
• Devon Achane is what makes this offense thrive, and his passing-game work will be the biggest element of his game to follow this offseason. While expecting his rushing workload to take a small hit, he can easily make up for that if he just adds that production into his passing-game work.
• Malik Washington is not locked into the WR1 spot, even though he clearly is the best receiver on this roster right now.
• If I had to pick which rookie WR of the bunch had the best shot at becoming a real option this year, my money would be on Kevin Coleman, as his athleticism and speed are two elements that this Miami roster needs in the worst way.

What strategy do you guys take in drafting in IDP leagues?!

Building Block #1: Know Your League’s Scoring

Before drafting in an IDP startup, make sure you fully understand your league's scoring settings and lineup requirements, as they can drastically change player values and draft strategy. Whether your league uses Big 3 or hybrid scoring, or starts five defenders versus a full 11-man defense, knowing the format is essential to building a competitive roster.

Building Block #2: Draft in Tiers, Not Rankings

Know your player tiers before your startup draft instead of relying solely on ADP. Startup drafts are unpredictable, so focusing on value tiers rather than rankings helps you avoid reaching during positional runs and allows you to stay patient while building the best roster possible.

Building Block #3: Don’t Force IDPs Early

Don't go into your startup draft with a predetermined round to draft your first IDP. Instead, let value dictate your picks based on your league's scoring and your player tiers, taking elite defensive players when they provide a bigger advantage than the available offensive options rather than reacting to positional runs.

Building Block #4: Linebacker Is King

Linebackers are the most valuable position in most IDP formats because they provide the highest combination of weekly consistency and scoring upside through tackle volume. Prioritize acquiring elite, three-down linebackers during your startup draft, as they're much cheaper to draft than to trade for later and can provide a significant weekly edge over your opponents.

Building Block #5: Don’t Chase Last Year’s Points

Don't chase career-year production, especially at defensive line where fantasy scoring is heavily dependent on volatile stats like sacks and forced fumbles. Instead, target players with secure snap shares, consistent playing time, and strong underlying metrics, as talent and opportunity are far more reliable predictors of long-term success than repeating a breakout season.

Building Block #6: Wait on Defensive Backs

Defensive back is the deepest position in IDP, making it one of the easiest spots to fill later in your startup draft or through waivers. Unless an elite difference-maker like Travis Hunter, Kyle Hamilton, or Brian Branch falls to you, it's usually best to wait on defensive backs and prioritize scarcer positions first.

Building Block #7: Build for Value, Not Balance

Don't overvalue youth at the expense of winning now. Build a balanced roster with productive veterans and young upside players, remembering that fantasy points—not dynasty value—win championships, and experienced players often provide excellent value at a discounted cost.

Kubiak ran one of the most balanced offenses in the league last year, with Seattle calling passing plays on 51.4 percent and running plays on 48.6 percent of all offensive snaps in 2025.

Play-action passing will be the best friend of Kirk Cousins and Mendoza, as Kubiak’s goal is to force defenses into heavier-personnel formations to put his faster offensive weapons in plus matchups. 

Lateral movement is the bread and butter of this scheme from the offensive line side of things, as they have to create either an edge or cut-back lane for the back. These runs typically come out of heavier personnel groupings, so the 11, 12 & 13-personnel formations (1 RB, 1/2/3 TEs, 3/2/1 WRs) will be heavily relied on by Kubiak.

Biggest 2026 Takeaways

• Bowers is in line to be Kubiak’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba, so expect the Georgia tight end to be spread out across different formations, lining up in line, with his hand in the dirt, and split out wide to maximize matchups.
• Jeanty is going to be fed a ton, but rookie Mike Washington was drafted for a reason; Kubiak’s incessant reliance on Zach Charbonnet cratered some of Kenneth Walker III’s workload, so while this won’t be that same kind of split, there probably will be enough moments of frustration this year.
• Mayer, Nailor, and Tre Tucker will absolutely have roles in this offense, as Kubiak will need to have a few guys step up on the depth chart; but don’t be surprised if Bech takes a step forward too, as Kubiak will likely look to utilize him in better ways than his rookie season (including blocking in the run game, which will help him earn snaps).

Original Team (11/11)
Every TE1 has been playing for the team that originally drafted them.

Under 30 Years Old (9/11)
Only Travis Kelce has consistently broken this trend over the span. Youth has generally won out.

Team Target Leader (9/11)
In 9 of the last 11 seasons, the TE1 led their team in targets. The only exceptions were Rob Gronkowski and Sam LaPorta.

Routes Run (10/11)
Opportunity matters. Over the last 11 seasons, the TE1 has typically run at least 450 routes, and in the last six seasons that benchmark has effectively become 500+ routes.

Non-Rookie Head Coach (11/11)
Probably the least predictive trend, but every TE1 over the last 11 seasons has played under a head coach who was not in his first year with the team.
