Medyo sawa na ako sa canned goods, eggs, carenderia dito sa amin, at kantong fried chicken. Looking for affordable recos, baka may di pa ako na eexplore. Pwede rin yung easy to prepare ulam, wala talaga time mag prepare lately. Thank you!!

My partner (32M) and I (29F) are planning to migrate to Australia permanently and eventually become PR, and we’re trying to understand which pathway would make the most sense for our situation.

About us:
I currently work in cybersecurity and can also speak and understand Japanese professionally, but I did not graduate with an IT degree. My occupation falls under skilled occupation code 262112 (ICT Security Specialist)

My partner works in the IT industry with around 10 years of experience and graduated with an IT degree. His occupation falls under skilled occupation code 262113 (Systems Administrator) or 313112 (ICT Customer Support Officer)

We are both in the Philippines at the moment.

We’re trying to figure out:
- Which visa pathway is most realistic for us (189 / 190 / 491 / employer sponsorship / student pathway?)

- Whether my lack of IT degree will become a major issue for skills assessment or PR

- If cybersecurity experience alone can compensate for a non-IT educational background

- Whether Japanese bilingual ability could help open more opportunities in Australia, for Japanese companies or APAC-focused roles.

- Whether it’s better for my partner to become the primary applicant

- Which states are currently more open to IT/cybersecurity occupations

- If employer sponsorship is more practical than points-tested migration in today’s market

For additional context:
We are willing to upskill, take certifications, get another diploma again or gain more experience if needed. Long-term goal is permanent residency and citizenship if that is possible. Planning to leave in 2028-2029 at most.

Would appreciate advice from anyone with similar experience, especially people in cybersecurity or IT who migrated without directly related degrees.

Notice ko lang kapag mga 5-9 hours tulog ko ang sakit ng ulo ko pagkagising, tapos ang grumpy, tinatamad. pero kapag 10-12 hours ang tulog ko parang well-rested ang feeling, sarap ng gising ko at ready nako makipag laban sa buhay hahahah. Kayo ba?

Problema ko lang sa ganitong sleep e nagugutom ako habang tulog lol kasi mga 6-8pm ako kumain tapos 12am natulog then 12pm nagising. May crackers ako sa gilid ng bed kumakain ako konti tapos natutulog ulit 😅
