Spiritfarer Quote in Wedding Program

My partner and I played Spirifarer together, so it felt appropriate to sneak a quote and image of Stella onto the memorial page of our wedding program.

Sewing with Sciatica

Hi folks! I am in the midst of a sciatica flare up, which means I have to put my sewing projects aside. Does anyone have any tips for either preventing lower back pain/strain or sewing when lower back pain is present?

My stairwell is lined with cat art, and this has long been my favorite (along with the original Dandy cat!)

Second Thoughts on Dress

Sorry for the delete if you saw a version of this before. I am considering selling my wedding dress after my first alterations appointment. The dress was at the top of my budget, at just under $3k, and my alterations were quoted as almost $4k! This would include a complicated bustle and hemming the dress, as well as taking in the upper bodice slightly.

Here is the thing: I love my dress if it cost $3000. I cannot FATHOM spending $7000 on a dress, especially this one! I thought the alterations would be minimal as the dress fit me so well, but the complicate hem and nine point bustle were a lot.

I cannot afford that much on alterations, but I can afford to sell my dress.

My current dress is Eddy K Blume. The sleeves are separates we were going to sew on. The third photo shows the dress I’d like to buy from Etsy, which was my original plan but then I found this dress. Help! I feel like I need some bridal clarity here.

ETA: I am aware that the Etsy dress is a version of the Teuta Matoshi dress. I’ve also looked at Ms Jophiel, who offers dresses in the same fabric and a similar style. This specific Etsy bridal shop has all of the dress elements I like, but I may end up buying the Teuta Matoshi or Ms Jophiel version. It’s basically that fabric with sleeves and floor length that I love.
